Capcom has recently sent out a PR email. Dual Destinies will be playable, and the price has been announced. Most retail 3DS games launch at $40, so this is a steal. No news yet how much the DLC case will cost.

Quote:
Capcom will be heading up to Seattle for PAX Prime 2013 this weekend with an incredible line-up of activities at booth #3217.

BOOTH ACTIVITIES:
Play the latest releases and upcoming games including: DuckTales: Remastered, Lost Planet 3 and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies. A themed Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate lounge will be dedicated to all things Monster Hunter – demo stations, a seating area with charging stations for hunters to join up and quest, special tournaments and photo opps with a life-size model of a Great Sword. Fans can also get their photo alongside Phoenix Wright in a recreation of the courtroom or pose as Strider with a replica of his infamous Cypher weapon.

Marking its return to PAX Prime will be the Capcom Store where show-goers can stock up on their favorite Capcom merchandise including: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate 3DS/3DSXL cases and blind box figures, Umbrella Corp. watches and umbrellas, Street Fighter x Sanrio plushies, Mega Man 25th Anniversary statues and inflatable busters, copies of recent game releases, the famous grab bags and much more.

NEW ASSETS AND INFORMATION:
Capcom is pleased to confirm that when Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies launches as a digital download for Nintendo 3DS on the Nintendo eShop this fall it will be priced at $29.99! The title sees the return of Phoenix Wright and his team at The Wright Anything Agency as they work on solving mysterious crimes. Joining Phoenix is Apollo Justice and new screens that take a closer look at his Perceive Ability are now available. To download the new assets for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, please visit http://press.capcom.com.

Stay tuned to Capcom-Unity for PAX Prime 2013 updates at: http://www.capcom-unity.com

Thanks,
Capcom PR Team

Hah, I knew they were going to release this at a reduced price. And at exactly the amount the FEA+SMTIV promotion gives you!

Definitely using that credit on this!

Now all we need is a date, but I'm content for now.

EDIT: looks like perceiving will be a bit harder this time, because I'm pretty sure perceiving never got that close in AA4.

Good price, at least now the anti-digital people can now ease up now that the price is lower.

I saw a tweet saying the game was out now, I had an serious rush of excitement only to be let down :(. But nevertheless that's cheap enough, I will buy that no problem.

Either way, I just saved $10!

PAX Prime hasn't started yet though. Hopefully we might somehow get a trailer from between today to the end of PAX Prime.

Might be one in time for PAX!

Also, Neil Gortz said he cannot give a UK price due to exchange rate fluctuations. But "if you look for similarly priced games that should help."

My guess is that it'll probably be between £19.99 and £24.99 then.

Ba-zing! Zvarri! Looks like digital only has paid off indeed. And Apollo looking better than ever with his honed in perception ability. And it looks like it will be great. I always did want to perceive people out of court in AJ. My wish has been granted. Now for the digital download to pay off even more with a timely release like let's say September 20 something. Can't wait to see what other news will be told at PAX!

I don't view it as a steal because $30 is still expensive for me. Still, I highly doubt the price will ever go down so I'll live with it. Wish we had a release date though.

The title does say $30, doesn't it? Everywhere else, however, I've been seeing $25 :eh?:

You're probably seeing it in Euros, not dollars.

I was thinking the price would be reduced since they are saving money making it digital only. However, it is nice to have a confirmation. I still wish we had a new trailer or at least a release date or something. It's only a few months away and they are still leaving us in the dark.

That's not too bad. Current exchange rates puts $30 at €22,50, so that's not bad at all. It's been a while since I last saw a game (especially digital) that's actually fairly priced for us Europeans instead of just converting $1 to €1.

So anyone wanna guess how much the DLCs are gonna cost?

Kind of off-topic, but has anyone seen this monstrosity yet?

Image

It's called the Nintendo 2DS. No, that's not a typo. It removes the 3D function, but is fully compatible with the 3DS and DS library of games. It'll only cost $130.

No idea. It might depend on whether or not they decide to lower the price for the first month or so like they did in Japan. I'd like to know if they are going to do that for us as well.

For those wondering, the 2DS topic is over here.

Anyway, I'd hope the DLC would be $2.50 for a month on sale and $5 afterwards, similarly to how Japan got it. Those prices seem common for 3DS DLC. I'll still at least get the bonus case no matter the price, as long as it isn't outrageous like $10 (extremely unlikely).

The only reason why I see how this would be useful is so that kids' eyes don't get damaged by the 3D. but parents can already put a lock on that with the 3ds. :yuusaku:

Hopefully the $30 price point can outweigh the digital-only aspect of the release. Though it's not much of a value if you consider that Capcom will likely charge us for both the DLC case and the costumes. Not that it's going to stop me from buying them.

I still think that thing is bad. Nintendo probably should've just outright made a tablet.

Most likely with all the extra content the game's gonna be like a full-priced retail game anyway, and that's great :)

My opinions, or rather, my predictions. 1.We'll play an investigation demo for case 2 or 3. 2.We'll likely hear Apollo's voice actor for the first time or more of Athena. 3. At the end of the demo, there will be a trailer, if not a cutscene, just like the Japanese demos. 4. Who knows, maybe at the end of the supposed trailer, we might get a release date, but that's just a wild guess.

We probably saved $5-10 on going digital only. Most physical games are $40, and some are $35. Even though $30 is somewhat hefty I can say we are definitely saving money.

That's right, we haven't heard anything from Apollo's new voice actor, have we? We know Mr. Riegel plays Phoenix Wright, and we've heard at least a 'hold it!' from Athena...exciting stuff.

Also, I'm quite content with the price. That's my professional take on it.

At any rate, this is great news! Sure, it would've been great if AA5 were even cheaper, but I'm not about to knock a discount when I see one! Until I can find an even better discount, that is xD

I'm willing to bet they're saving Apollo's VA reveal for later because it's a good one :agent-Smith:
