I never understood the need to buy overpriced things that probably cost a tiny fraction to make. Then again, I'm the cheap fuck who gets her $10-$15 purse at the TJ Maxx. Lasts about as long as it's in style, and if it ever does suffer extreme damage from a random collision (note: this never actually happens), I won't feel guilty about getting a new one.

It's not people carrying expensive things that bothers me. Hell, me carrying my iPod Touch and LG Optimus L9 phone to school is already over $650 but I'm extremely careful with my things.

Like I said before, it's the attitudes of these kinds of people that I'm constantly surrounded by. In my Study Hall, there are these annoying girls that talk about the dumbest of things like how EVERYONE has to go to Prom like it's some kind of sacred requirement. Imagine the stupidest characters from any bad teen drama, put them in real life, and you have 99% of the girls in my high school. Honestly, I have no idea why I even tried to get a girlfriend. That's another reason why I hate my school and the community that I live in. Everyone's so snobbish and arrogant, it's disgusting. I have few friends, mostly whom I never see; so for all intents and purposes I'm basically alone.

That is, except for a special someone that I email and Skype, whom I met through Court Records. She's basically the only person that really cares about me.

So it seems that you live in the world of these stupid american high school girl movies, like "Mean Girls". I honestly don't blame you, I'm a girl and I have problems dealing with this stupid side of the female nature. It's so difficult for me to make female friends (at least personally).

Right? I just don't get that, either.
Years ago, I saw a really cute, really neat vest that was tied with a ribbon at the top and had blue-dyed fur on it. I don't know if the fur was real or fake, it looked fake to me. And I felt like getting it, it was so pretty. But then I saw the price tag of 150 € and gave up on it.
I don't even want to pay 80 € for a freaking summer dress I've been searching for for months, no way would I buy a piece of clothing that expensive. I think the most expensive one I have is a winter men's jacket that we bought a good... 6 years ago for 170€...

TopHat, I get where you're coming from... I wouldn't see the point of complaining of somebody scratching my 300$ bag or something, even if I wouldn't carry around something like that. So that is stupid. But if someone were to damage my phone or godforbid MP3 player or one of my handheld consoles, I'd be screaming fucking murder at them.
And amongst that stuff, I think my MP3 player was the cheapest of about... 20 or 40 euros...?

Same here... If I were ever insane enough to buy a $300 bag myself and use it outside of special occasions, I probably wouldn't complain too much if it got scratched. I'd be OCD enough to be irritated for a while (there is a line where there should not be! Imperfection! :ka-whip: ), but I wouldn't scream my head off or anything. It'd be my fault for wasting $300 on something that gets damaged easily, when I know I and my belongings are prone to accidents :payne: Same for my phone, actually, to be honest. I have it for talking and texting, really. And I can live without either quite easily. Probably, the only thing I'd miss about it is the camera.

My iPod and DS, though...... :fire:
So I finally grew a brain and remembered to give myself a signature... Whoopee.

You know, I knew she was gonna nag at me.
From the second I heard my mom's voice on the phone when I called, after having finally calmed down about being fired, I knew she was not gonna be nice to me about this. I knew she was gonna use her more assertive/louder voice about this and sound pissed off.

Well she did. You know, I didn't expect her to take me into her arms and cry with me, but I did expect some form of sympathy! She has no right to be angry about my losing my job! I'm the one who lost the job, lost the potential for payment and the potential for getting training in something that would bring money in! What gives her the right to be angry at me about this now?

She acts like I did a huge travesty in losing that place!
Well, screw you, mom, I do not need a disappointment like that and you then coming in and being angry at me about this. I just want a little sympathy from her!

Probably, I dunno?
I think she's more pissed off that I am once again at home all the time and no means of getting money. Which annoys both of us, actually. Although she did say that firing me over mistakes I've made (although that wasn't the sole reason, apparently) is stupid because I am new to the whole thing and they should expect that I would make mistakes in the beginning. (Unlike a co-worker of hers, who has been working there for 3 years and still makes stupid mistakes that she should know how to avoid)

Depends on the scope of the mistake really, I knew a guy who was once working fresh in an accountants office as an assistant and he somehow misplaced a million in money from one of their clients' accounts.

Yeah he got fired.

Well, among the mistakes I made was one that was kind of dumb to make...

We had two separate "pools" on the PC, one of the overall office and the other for one specific lawyer. I had several new files for that one lawyer to put into the system and I accidently ended up putting them all into the general office one, instead of the lawyer's one.
It was noticed the next day and I rectified it by importing the misplaced files into the lawyer's pool and then deleting the files from the pool I had falsely put them into. An incredibly dumb mistake to make, but I would like to say that it's because of the phone... while I was working on those files, the phone rang.
I answer, write down the data, then have to make a note of it that gets printed out. To do that, I had to use the file number which was only available on the office pool, so I had to switch between the two pools. And since the phone kept ringing off and on at that point, I kept having to switch. I must've eventually forgotten to switch and finish the files.

That is a dumb mistake, but I was new and I am still blaming the phone for that. I know that part of the job would be to answer the phone, but I would've appreciated it, had the head secretary taken over phone duties while I was working on the files.
The "only" problem I would've seen of that mistake not being rectified is that the numbers would have been different and the files would not have been found in the lawyer's pool. But technically, the data in all the files would've been correct... just not the number.

So... yeah, stupid mistake, but easily rectified. Not enough of a good reason to fire someone.

Sorry about losing your job. I've never had one before (the minimum age to work where I live is 16 and I'm only 15), but I can imagine how frustrating and difficult it is for you. Good luck trying to get another one. Losing one job isn't the end of the world, and you'll hopefully find another one soon. At least it's given you some experience.

I can relate to not having the best relationship with parents. It seems that my mother yells at me for anything that I do wrong. Whenever I try to defend myself, she calls me disrespectful, rude, and disobedient. What would you have me do, mom? Pretend to agree with you? I'm 15 years old, not 5. I respect you, and I appreciate everything you do for me; but don't treat me like a child. It doesn't help that my idiotic stubborn brother causes many fights. Whenever I try to break it up, my mother only yells at me and does the same, telling me to "mind my own business." If I have to go through this shit every day, than it IS my business.

But there's nothing I can do. I'm a minor, and I still live under her roof. My parents are divorced, and I don't want to live at my father's house either. School sucks too, if you've read my previous post. So yeah, that's just me. Miserable at home, and miserable at school. Isn't my life just grand?

Dear people who come with party flags in politically neutral protests,
Fuck you! It's so difficult to understand that the fucking protest is NONPARTISAN?
Specially you, workers party's bitches. You think we don't know that you're just taking advantage of the situation to re-elect your damn politicians next year? Fucking bulls.

Look... The next time someone pop up with party flags in nonpartisan/anonymous protests here, these flags will be taken. And burned.

WITH FIRE!! :fire:

How come people, even restaurant cooks, seem to think that food doesn't require any spices? I know that italian cooking has its own way of doing things, but how come when I order Napoli sauce on my spaghetti, the thing tastes like nothing except tomatoes with some shaven parmesan on top? Aside from not being that big of a fan of parmesan, where is the flavor? Hello? Hello, flavor! Will you come out, please?

And even then, there was no salt or pepper on the table to use to give it at least a little bit of a kick. This is like people thinking that vegetarian or vegan food is bland. We, for the most part, eat vegetarian in our house - at least, I do, sometimes my mother makes herself some porkchops or something. And most of our dishes are pretty neat.
We put a lot of spices or herbs into it, mix things and tastes pretty damn good. Heck, every once in a while, we end up having a vegan meal! Not because we planned it, but because the dish was simply made without animal produce. And even those taste pretty freaking awesome.

You know, meat isn't the thing that gives something flavor. It's the fat on the meat that stores other flavors from the cooking that gives you the flavor. Which is why I think that non-fat diets are pretty silly, because people seem to think that No Fat = Healthy, right? Well, technically yes, although essential fats are... essential. But there would be no flavor. What do those non-fat produces then do? Add a ton more sugar to replace fat-absorbed flavor!

Exactly. If people want to lose weight, I'd say eat smaller portions and exercise more. Like, doctors say that in summer, people should have smaller meals but eat more often instead of three big meals. Or even simply drink for one day, so that your body uses some of the reserves in the body. If you really feel you can't go a day without eating something, eat something small... a salad. Or a bowl of cereal, just something small. A sandwich or such.

Saturday night from 7:00 to 1:00 and today from 6:15 to 10:30, our electricity has gone out. Odd thing though is that it hasn't been storming here or anything. From what I understand, a stray lightning bolt struck Saturday, taking out our power as well as from over 300 hundred other homes. Today, the power went out from all the same homes, no bolts or anything, which makes me assume they did a very shoddy job fixing it up. I'm really hoping it won't happen again and hope they did a better job this time so we won't lose our power a third time. Guess I'm not really venting so to speak, but it is annoying nonetheless.

Well, I went and vented at the people on the Skyward GameFAQs forum. I'm sure people reading it will say that I sound immature, but I pointed out that my post is an impression of what they sound like. And I don't care if they call me immature. It's all fine and dandy to have different opinions. Just quit attacking me and others and try to change ours.

Of course they are.
They just have no right to say, "Well this is my opinion. Now change yours to reflect mine!"

I'm not saying they shouldn't speak their mind or opinion. They have every right to do that, just as I do, as you say. I repeatedly say, "This is why I like Skyward" but I never say anything in my posts that boils down to, "Your opinion sucks cause it's different"
Even new players who want to know what others think of Skyward, before they play it themselves, I tell them that I like it but that they shouldn't take my words for granted. They should play the game themselves and form their own opinion.

The others don't like Skyward or don't like aspects of it. Except a handful who sound like the same person over and over, which makes me wonder if it's just the same troll with five different accounts, who basically says the following, "Skyward sucks! Nintendo sucks for having created this game, this sucks so bad! You like Skyward? Than you suck as well! You and your opinion suck! I hate this game, so you should hate it, too! Especially new players have to be stopped from playing this sucky, sucky game!"
Which is not giving one's opinion, that's just whining.

*headdesk* *groan* Argh... I should pay more attention to deadlines. My stupid ass forgot about all the deadlines and midterms in the past week... And thus had to pick my stupid, lazy ass off the damn floor and do a crap ton of work that I technically should have been doing over the past month or so in a matter of days. :headbang:

Well, on the bright side, I was keeping up with the easy stuff, so all I really had to do was the hard and/or time-consuming stuff and the stuff I couldn't do at home due to crappy computer that can't fucking save or even open the important shit (yet somehow managed to download AAI2 and emulator!? :headbang: whyyyyy!?!?!?!?!!? Much as I hate to say it, the homework's a million times more important!). It's mostly done, now; all that's left is a few easy mini-projects that are due a minute before midnight on Monday. Did I mention those mini-projects are of the ilk that I have to do at school due to piece of shit desktop? And that my campus is closed tomorrow?

I repeat: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Well, I did my best, but bureaucracy meaning I couldn't take one more exam I was fully prepared for means I can't do 4th year Physics, making the last few years of my life almost entirely pointless, because what employer understands a degree in Combined Studies? Even if the majority of the modules in such are Physics based?

And by Physics-based, I mean directly from the Physics program. Also, means I can't do a final year project, which sucks because that's literally the most important thing. Either that, or I'm going to have to do final year next year, but I hae no idea what kind of stuff I could even be doing this year in Combined Studies, then.

Tell me in detail what happened hylian. our educational system is pretty flexible there's almost certainly a way around this to get you doing it. Might be some extra time but should be viable somehow

Mom comes home from the Wiesn, making sure her clients get to their tents in time, have their vouchers and all that. Comes home and, when seeing me, greets me as "Eliza Donothing" Ahahaha, not funny.

You know, I can't make the people I apply to answer faster...!

^damn, that's a bit harsh. I feel for ya - applied to a few places a week ago and still haven't heard anything back. :<

Meanwhile, today i spent a bit more time than I'd like around the girl I used to have ridiculous feelings for - and those feelings started to come back! I guess this unrequited love business never ends, does it...

I personally would tell you to not read too much into it. I felt something for a guy pal I had during High School. Few years later, we met up to watch a movie with his brother and our mothers, and I did feel a bit of that old feeling, but it disappeared pretty fast again.

Don't be disheartened man, just gotta...straighten her out *badumdumpish*

Though it's only a rumour man and folks' sexuality can flip flop over the place at a time. I have a gay pal who is constantly complaining about guys who are only gay when they are drunk breaking up with him when they sober up.

It's the latter thing you mentioned *sigh* I disapprove of that style of relationship but I'm pretty sure he's said he doesn't even mind the non-permanent nature of it and wouldn't mind just staying sex buddies after he's hooked up with someone when out at a club. So I guess I can't complain so long as he's happy. Just that those sex buddies sober up and realise it's a mistake is his problem.

Then the only option is to keep them drunk!

Ah, cause calling a (drunk) hook up from a club a relationship is kind of... jumping the gun? I'm sure relationships have - and will, in the future - spring from one night stands, drunk or sober, but overall I always thought it was a pretty bad way to start a relationship...

Although thinking of having your club hook up to be a sex buddy after just one night? Well, if there was a talk about it, sure, although I'm not a fan of sex buddies... I personally like to keep friendship and sex separated But just thinking of having a one night stand become a sex buddy instantly... yeah, same as above. Jumping the gun.

So... in that case, I have to say: it's his own fault for thinking that far ahead when he is the one who already made plans with something that generally is done a moment of "weakness" and then being frustrated.
