Edgey, I can tell you've got your heart set on making this fangame, but the other users have raised a valid point. I get the impression that you don't really understand what the project leader--that's you--is supposed to do, as well as that you're unwilling to listen to constructive criticism. I don't think you should abandon this project altogether, but I believe you should get some experience helping other people with their fangames before you try to make your own. By doing this, you'll be able to learn what goes into a fangame, as well as what's expected of the project leader. Who knows? Maybe you'll pick up some useful skills in the process. It helps to be able to contribute more than just a story.

Except the parts where we give you advice, ask you how we can help other than the vague "assistant" job (which seems to encompass doing everything, to be honest), and ask you to clarify what you mean when you type nonsensical messages.

But yeah, other that that, we've done nothing.

The biggest problem here is that I think you don't want us just to help or comment on your fangame.

It looks more like you basically wanted us to make a fangame for you. It doesn't work this way, sorry.

Ropfa's advice in making a fangame:

1) As was said, try helping somebody on their own fangame. Be somebody else's assistant first. That will give you an idea of what it takes to make this.

2) You don't NEED an assistant. Cardiovore is making his own game mostly by himself and I'd say that I'm doing about 90% of the work in mine. Silentbob has help with artwork, but he does the script and most of the coding by himself. It's entirely possible to make a good game by yourself.

3) Read books. Play the real Ace Attorney games. That will help you improve your dialogue.

4) Make an outline of the events of your case. Write something for the different chapters and testimonies. That will help you organize your thoughts.

5) Also, write a rough draft. This shouldn't even be just "advice". It should be required. Make a first draft for your case in Microsoft Word or a similar text program. You need to get all those ideas written down to make sense of them first. Otherwise, it'll all come out as a jumbled mess. Trust me. I'm a writer. I know from personal experience.

6) Don't be afraid to add too many details. The player doesn't know what you're thinking. We don't know what you're thinking. If you manage to get a new assistant, he/she won't know what you're thinking. Humans can't mind read. Write down EVERYTHING you want us to know.

7) If you manage to get a new assistant, DON'T EXPECT HIM/HER TO DO ALL THE WORK.
That is not the assistant's job. This is YOUR case. It's YOUR job to do most of the work.

8) From your posts, I guess that you are not fluent in English. I recommend writing the script first in your own native language, then finding somebody who also knows your language and have them help translate it into English. (Speaking of that... What is your native language?)

9) If you don't know how to draw sprites yourself... and you can't find somebody to make them for you... then don't make a case that requires those characters.

10) If people come into here to give their opinion... LISTEN TO THEM. Don't just assume that they hate you and are doing it as a personal attack. Believe it or not, there are some people in here who want to see you succeed. But that won't happen if you ignore everything that is said.

Edgey, I took a lot of time writing this. So I expect you to give me a response. And not only one sentence. I want to know that you understood everything I said here, so please respond to EACH of my ten pieces of advice.

This will all probably be ignored, but you know... whatever.

As for everybody else, at this point it seems like many people are just trolling the kid. Give it a rest.

I've said it many times before, and I'll keep saying it until it gets through, even though we've been telling you the same thing over and over again and you've still yet to acknowledge a word out of everyone's mouth: Saying "I know" is not acknowledgment. SHOW that you know, and have taken the advice given to you to heart.

The way you're handling this project right now and how you're refusing to listen to anyone, nobody is going to help you. The sooner you start listening to what people have to say, the better your chances are of getting someone who is willing to help.

AKA, he just doesn't care.

He accused me of hacking into his account and kept trolling me. Got banned as a result, with it getting worse each time he complains.

He keeps trying to unban himself, but makes it worse. I accepted his apology, and that's about it. Now it feels hollow...

...You know, I suggest closing this thread again right about now.

Papasbuddy a.k.a. Edgey we know here just got half a year ban on AAO, so unless he decides to use other engines (doubtful, due to necessary coding) or won't get an "assistant" to basically do all the work for him, whether on AAO or any other engine, this fangame will not get amy progress at all.

Wait, h-half a year? Wasn't it like a 1 month ban or 2 month ban?

But then again, I think getting banned for half a year is possible...

After talking with the other mods, apparently Ami said that he had circumvented his ban again, multiple times, pretending to be CR staff.

I know I said I was done here but work is never done, that's a sad fact. I forgot to post some screenshots from the case, and these are very important:

I was the one to suggest originally ban him outright forever on AAO after he accused me of hacking...

Arent you Ami from AAO? Why are you speaking in 3rd person : ?

Dude, you're partly to blame for his extensions. You helped enable his behavior of circumventing his ban by offering to be his messenger boy to rtaos at AAO, which is a clear way of circumventing that ban. I would say thats a bannable offense on your end.

Seriously, i find it funny that most of you are getting off from creating this "drama" against a 13 year old kid.

If you dont like what hes doing or not believing in his project, just ignore his thread. Why contribute so much attention to it?

You dont even know if he has a mental handicap that makes him act the way he does.

As for banning him forever... What a shame, banning forever isnt going to solve problems. He'll just be more encouraged to keep at his antics. Be the better man in this AG.

I tried to, but he kept pestering me till the part I got accused of hacking. It started to panic me.

One of his PM's said then when he proves I hacked his account, it's all good.

That scared the heck out of me.

That's my two cents, I don't want to get involved in this... :sadshoe:

Geez, it's like every time we try to get this thread onto the actual game and what he should be doing, we go back to his past with AAO.

Look - I don't care - I just want him to learn to do this crap once and for all (and in the process would probably solve all the other 'issues' regarding papas).

Guys - you're this close to getting this thread closed/purged again. Let's just leave it and see if he's able to produce something - if he's ready to listen and not constantly beat him down. Six months is a long time, but it doesn't mean he can't write the script in word like Ropfa suggested.

Hmm... I think I get it. This is like reality TV, isn't it? You see it's a trainwreck, you know it's a trainwreck, you know you shouldn't, but you just can't help but keep your eyes glued and talk about it.

Anyway, since you guys seem to not be able to control yourselves despite posts from both me and General Luigi, this thread is getting locked again. Two purges was enough; I'm not going to do it three times, or four, or five.

I'm going to quote Huddini here, because what he said is right:
Quote:
If you dont like what hes doing or not believing in his project, just ignore his thread. Why contribute so much attention to it?

Talking about someone's ban on another site or repeating things that have already been said twenty times in the thread or saying how you don't think anything will come out of the game DOES NOT HELP.

I want to make this clear: this thread isn't being locked because of anything edgey (directly) did. It's because you guys just can't seem to be able to control yourselves.

To edgey: When you are "ready," you can ask a mod to unlock this thread, or you can make a new one. However, I suggest you make sure you truly get the progress on your game to a satisfactory level before doing this.

You say you agree with what people have said in this thread. Saying isn't good enough; you have to show it by actually DOING it. It won't be easy, but you really should go through the things people have told you in this thread and try to implement them.

In light of your ban on AAO, if you truly want to make this game, I suggest looking into another casemaking engine, such as PyWright or PWLib.
