phoenix is slightly disappointing compared to his japanese voice, though.

Am I the only one who got a bit tired of his Japanese VA in the end? I mean he's good and thank god it wasn't the crap-actor from the movie like in PLvAA but there was something about the way he acted. Way too solemn in tone or something, it started bugging me after a while.

Isn't Egdeworth's voice like that in order to sound like he's maturing to be like his dad?

He now sounds more french than british IMO.

To be honest, I don't feel like the chords of steel have been lost. He stills sounds powerful and like the Apollo we know, he's just not as desperate to shout Objection anymore since he's gained some experience.

Well, yes, and I don't know why I'm sitting here defending his shouting xD Actually, I have the feeling that the whole thing is only semi-serious, like he's made it his thing and continued with it (and named it something as quasi-cool as "chords of steel") just for the heck of it. Or maybe I just think that because I could totally do something like that. My point being, his new voice is fine! :odoroki: but the shouting is part of what makes him Apollo.

So Seon King's Edgeworth voice sounded British?

I would say that Edgeworth's voice sounds too old but maybe it's because it's not what I have in my head. I wouldn't say it's badly-acted though (it does sound confident and authoritative, which is what Edgeworth would probably sound, especially considering his position now). On the other hand, it's one line and one word. And I shouldn't judge the whole thing based on just that. I love Apollo's voice, though.

Here's my opinion on the voices:

Phoenix: No problems here. His voice is higher than I expected (having seen the opening cutscene in English), but I'd say it fits pretty well.

Athena: Sounded pretty much like I expected. Maybe a little lower than I thought, but whatever.

Apollo: He sounds...a lot like Phoenix. Maybe a touch lower, but other than that they sound pretty much the same to me.

Edgeworth: Did not expect him to sound like that; he sounds really gruff, kinda like how I expected Simon to sound. But it could probably work.

Payne: Well, at least I won't have to hear a guy who sounds like he was pitch-shifted to sound less intimidating. He definitely sounds better than his brother.

Klavier: Definitely works. Kind of more forceful than his first clip. I like it.

Simon: That...might actually fit Edgeworth better than it fits himself.

All in all, I think they did a pretty good job here, although I personally think switching Edgeworth's and Simon's objections would make both fit better.

Have you listened to the voice drama? The first two parts are all that's really needed to showcase Kondo's talent, but the 3rd one is pretty good too.

Can't you tell? They've been tempered.

I suppose it's more suitable for case 4 than case 2. Blacky has him on the run for a while.

crap they're on to me Nah, it's nothing major. Blacky just likes to play with Polly... with swords.
That sounded less dirty in my head

Edit: Before anyone calls for the banhammer, I'd like to reiterate the point: Case 2 takes place long before cases 4 & 5 and thus has nothing to do with the scene of Apollo leaving the office, shown in the trailer. It's surprising just how much one guy can change within a few months.

...That's all I'll say about it until the official release date.

We have both of Blackquill's voice clips, and I think the "Silence!" was done by the same guy who did the "Objection!", but in a different tone. Can anyone figure out who it is?

I like solemn in tone. I think it fits his 33 year old self. 100% personal preference, though. Maybe I just find the voice itself charming...

Damn, Apollo's japanese voice is awesome and Simon's is cool as well. But I didn't like Phoenix's japanese voice at all. Especially when he says "Hold it" and "Got it" - it sounds like he's about 100 years old and is asking a question. I'm sorry, I just can't stand it. x'D

I don't care how bad they may sound; I demand that they be uploaded ASAP. The tension is unbearable!

The more I hear Blacky's "Objection!" the more it grows on me. I'm liking that Victorian English accent.

...To be fair, I wasn't that fond of Takemoto's "Igiari!" when I first heard it - sounded a bit too generic. His voice acting in the scenes was fine, though. Hence why I'm not so picky about these voice clips. It's the scenes I'm waiting for.

Hate to admit it, but I kind of liked Edgeworth's Japanese voice better than his English. In PLvsAA, he was fine. (English)
