Well the thing is that I started to be with some other people but they also got behind in classes. And in fourth year of university it's hard to get into a new group of people (atleast if you're kind of insecure) and I can say that I know most of them since we aren't many people left in the class (In the first year we were like 70, now we're under 20 left). I'm sure sounding negative here but I guess I have to try again.

Eh if you get the right group of friends it's ok. The guy in question actually struggled with us his own friends, because he would continuously go off the rails, swear in group presentations and be late with his work. At one point another friend actually asked to be swapped group because this guy joined him.
He dug himself a deep hole but it's still a shame seeing as he's left behind.

I don't like to always be so unsure about getting a partner in the courses (as I said, a bit insecure and not so outgoing). Sure most of the times it resolves in the end.

There is always one person who has to point out that they knew my older brother.
First, my second grade teacher made a big deal about it to everyone on the first day. Then every single teacher in middle school first greeted me with "I know your brother." I'm the older brother, yet I have the opposite problem. It seems that EVERYBODY in my high school keeps calling me as "his older brother." Not only that, but my younger brother, someone who's the laziest, rudest, meanest, and most stubborn person that I've ever known SOMEHOW manages to get better grades than me and is more popular. Wonder why I hate my life so much? This is just one of the many reasons.
This is why I call myself a no-good loser. Because I am one. Nobody cares about me. No one's ever there for me. I'm alone and I fail at everything no matter how hard I try. Nothing ever changes for me.

I've got a similar problem though I wouldn't say my little brother is BAD like that. He's only 2 years younger than me, which is nothing at my age so more oft than not he's considered the older brother. I dislike being known to him as an association...because wherever we are together comparison's get done. He's clever but not too clever, charming and boyish, gets on with the lads, flaunts the law on the cheeky side occasionally. However he's also arrogant, apathetic at times and does not really consider his responsibilities and duties to the house. However he's a social butterfly so he can cruise past pretty well on a lot of things.
Now I know he's a good guy, maybe some of his faults bug me but he's my brother and being that there's certain things you share in a family. I just don't like being beside him all the time. When he's with his friends he's fine but at home he's mopey and grumpy and rarely cares for much. When I'm out with him other people take to him well and I'm sort of sidelined as "his brother" though I know I can be friendly and positive myself when he's not there.
Though eh it doesn't bother me so much.

Like in Job Interviews. How do you know you got the job cause your CV impressed the supervisor and not because you are somebody's relative? As much as I may bitch about not getting jobs (for fuck's sake I was rejected for a fucking coffee-making job! What, do you expect me to have a fucking PhD in coffee-making to work in your damn store!?) I'd rather know I made a good impression on the supervisor without any real connection than know I got it because of connections.

Both. Eventually, my nickname became "Little [Brother's Name]," because I look exactly like my older brother, only shorter. For the record, I look nothing like him, AND outgrew him by 2 cm.
Though I'm probably only pissed because (and I'm trying to put this delicately) I hated my older brother. Well, not "DIE ALREADY!" hate, but enough to make me pissed when people try to compare us. I know he's not a bad guy, but that only holds true when he's in public. Before he moved out, he always isolated himself. Any attempts I made at trying to connect with him usually resulted in some physical pain.
So yeah, I do not like it when people try to compare me with my brother.

I won't say I like it, but it doesn't bother me much. That must be because these people are usually her friends and I don't have to interact with them in a daily basis. I mean, why should I take offence? People are just point out similarities, that's all. Though I get your point sumguy28, in the way you put it, seems like you feel like you're being deprived of your individuality.

For one, it's like they're basically shoving their hands in other players' faces and going, "Nyenyenyenyenye!" because we are still fighting our way to Level 99 for Rebirth, before having to get to that Level again and then to 150, with any given class and it has been more than four hours and we're nowhere close to that.
Secondly, a ton of those 150 Characters got there so fast because they have overpowered gear. And said overpowered gear has been Enhanced, Card Slotted with about 4 cards and Upgraded to +9 or even +12 levels, so it's not wonder they can easily kill things without batting an eyelash or worrying about lack of supplies or dying. A ton of players, especially new ones, can't afford those kind of gear - that kind of gear on the market costs about 50 Million Zeny. Per. Equipment Piece. I'm not a new player and even I don't have that much Zeny on one fucking character!
Third, these type of 150 Characters tend to be VIP. Meaning, they pay to play the game as VIPs, meaning improved EXP and Drops, less EXP Penalty when they die - they lose only 1% EXP while non-VIPs lose 3% - and that stacking with Battle Manuals that increase EXP even more, plus any potentially ongoing x2 or x3 EXP Event that VIP players frequently get, makes leveling much easier. And not every player can afford VIP! Or is even allowed to get VIP! We have a lot of underage players, they can't get VIP because their parents wouldn't pay for that!
Fourth! Regardless of whether those four hours were done consecutively or even over the course of the day, not every player has the time or even patience to play that character for so long to level grind. A lot of the older players that may be returning to iRO after years of breaks want to get to Level 150 themselves now, but they are older now, they generally have jobs or university, which cuts into their time.
They think I sound like a sore loser and player because I'm stuck leveling? Yes I am stuck leveling some of my characters because the levels they are at have shit Rewards for Quests and it's really not fun trying to get past that hurdle again.
But that doesn't give them the right to still post shit like that and not think that they are not sounding like total asses! If you want to say it in a way that "It's not that difficult to level [insert Class name]" then say it like that. Don't go all uptitty about how your 12 Characters Slots with VIP are filled with 150/50 classes.

I'll be honest, I haven't noticed any intense rudeness currently or recently. Neither have I checked out that thread.
I don't want to badmouth Emiko and Gnobo, but I do feel a bit... peeved that they left because they thought they were not welcome. While that is not the case, I do think it shows them to be rather "thin skinned" although some of Emiko's posts seemed to show that she had a pretty thick skin to tolerate some things.
Overall, though, I can still understand leaving. Heck, I know I'm a tough person to deal with at times, but I generally still stick around. Because while I know that some people may not like me, the rest either don't care about me or don't dislike me. Also, I kinda think that you have to deal with not being liked by everyone.
I know people on the Skyward GameFAQs board would love to see me leave, I have been an insensitive and stupid snot at times, but I still stay. Mostly because other people there are worse and I feel like I'd rather be there, the brute force to push them back and keep them in line.
The lesser of two evils, if you will.

I know i maybe a bit late but uhh...hang in there okay? I myself was a loner, who had no friends what so ever.I was soo upset about moving to another school,that I completely shut myself out..and I would always decide to work alone by myself cause everyone was already partnered up with someone
It was at this time the only friend I did had were my online friends. Those memories still holds place in my heart.
The next year (again) when i moved to school I landed up in a total douche bag land. But you know, It is then point on I met some of my rl life friends. And I am really happy now..I learned to accept the fact that I work better when I am alone but I still have my friends, don't forget your family too.. Many of them are there but you just don't see it or you guys misunderstand each other XD.
But I guess about online friends...
As I grow older I am starting to regret that part of my life. Even though It was one of my epiphany and I had nothing but them. I am now totally behind on..everything! Its now really hard for me to run with the time and play the game of life. I kind of struggle a lot between that online past and the present me.
I guess moral of the story is: Don't get too caught up here..that's all..

I've been in the same school district for my entire life. Let me tell you something. The majority of the people here are complete douchebags. I can't stand a single moment living here, but it's what I have to face every single day.
I have no friends, and there isn't a single person that truly cares about me. I've tried asking many girls out, but I've been rejected every single time. I've never had a single relationship. My father cares only for himself and his wife that's not even half his age. My mother doesn't understand what I have to go through and constantly criticizes me. My brother is a lazy asshole that never listens to me and only causes more arguments in my house. I'm miserable both at school and at home.
I haven't shut myself out and I've tried really hard to change things. But nothing ever changes for me. Things only get worse and worse each day. I'm miserable almost 24/7 nowadays.
You're happy? Great. Good for you. But happiness for me is something that just doesn't exist. I haven't truly smiled or been happy for years.
Right now, the Internet is the only thing that I have. But even then, I don't have any real friends. I still have my real shitty life to go through and no one cares. And I have to face everything alone.
