While I wouldn't want Klavier connected to the next main plot, I would be quite content if he showed up in a DLC facing off against Phoenix. Those two really need to settle the score.

I'd like to see Klavier back, I like the thought that he's a stand up guy, doesn't start bad and need a grueling emotional journey to know what's right from wrong in the courtroom.

The only 'normal' prosecutors we face are the Paynes, and they're not exactly... well... normal 
And all the other prosecutor's have to go through some great emotional/character development before you start to like them, or before they actually act in a way that's worth liking. Klavier's actually a nice prosecutor who STAYS that way; it was a refreshing change

They don't really need to do anything special for the first trial. Mia's second trial was the tutorial, even though she was capable in her first. In 5-1, if you ask for cross-examination advice from Athena she'll say, "Of course I know how to cross-examine. Do you need a refresher?" That's all that's really needed

I don't mind if he does either so long as they do it consistently. He shouldn't have to share the spotlight so much in a game that is primarily about his return to the courts and has his name on the box. I felt they messed that up with the addition of another protagonist lawyer and while it was enjoyable I just wish they'd been a bit more consistent because it leaves me feeling like it was all false advertising and just trying to draw a big crowd...which it totally might have been. End of the day folks bought it so if it was a marketing stunt it was a success but it's somewhat dishonest and that didn't sit well with me
Interesting question, Rubia. If you asked me before Dual Destinies, I would've definitely said that I wanted Apollo to be the main character. I wouldn't have minded him sharing a game with Phoenix, though (Phoenix gets cases 1 and 3 and the first half of 5. Apollo gets the rest)
Now that I've played Dual Destinies, I've forgotten how much I like Phoenix, so this is a tough question for me. Phoenix is such a great character but a lot of people seem to forgot that (he's the Michael Bluth of the series). Apollo is kind of flat for me to be honest and I do NOT want Athena to be the main character, even though I'm okay with her character. I don't really know what direction they can take Apollo. He has a backstory but there's not much you can do with that. Maybe he'll find out that his father was murdered instead of there being an accident? Who knows
Pierre, I agree Athena was pretty clumsily handled, but I wasn't disappointed by the "false" advertising. I was disappointed when I heard Phoenix would be the main character again (like I said, I had forgotten how much I like Phoenix) and I thought they'd just reject the AJ plot. I thought Athena would just be an assistant
When I heard that Phoenix and Apollo would both be playable, I jizzed my pants. I was disappointed that Athena was in every case of the game (Kay was in every case of GK2 but she didn't push other characters to the side. Also, they did something interesting with her in case 4) but I did like her case. I kind of wish they'd just make her character appear as much as Franziska does, that way it's a treat when she appears. I don't really want her to steal the spotlight from others again
Anyway, if I got to choose, I'd make GS6 just Phoenix and Apollo (as playable) OR Apollo Justice 2. Anyway, I'll break down the cases that I'd like in GS6 (assuming all three characters are appearing again)
Case 1: Athena (playable) and Phoenix
Case 2: Apollo and Trucy
Case 3: First half: Phoenix and Maya/Pearls (if she comes back, she's gonna be an assistant) Second half: Phoenix and Trucy
Case 4 (don't make this a shorter case): Athena and Apollo OR Athena and Blackquill OR Athena and Trucy/Maya/Pearls
Case 5: First half is Phoenix and Apollo. Second half is Apollo and Phoenix

Meh, Klavier so far has not impressed me. What ticks me off about him isn't how bland his personality is, but how bland his current story is. He probably got into law in the first place because of his brother, but now that his bro is rightfully in prison (and so is his "best friend"), he's lost his purpose being around. Phoenix doesn't hold any grudge toward him, nor did he actually lose that trial, so they don't need to settle the "score". Apollo is declared his "rival" just because they've been in several trials together - more of which Klavier led Apollo through than otherwise. That's not rivalry.
It's also why I prefer to see him as a comedy-relief character. Now that his worst trauma is over, what's next? If they bring in another sob story, it will have no place in this storyline. On the other hand, if all he has left are joke mishaps, as done in GS4, not many people are going to sympathize with him more than they already have. I, for one, will continue to treat him as a butt-monkey.
Apollo has this issue too - about not having much purpose beside being a second-in-line at the WAA. It's why Clay's sudden introduction in GS5 seems so forced. GS4 was originally intended to be a one-shot story, and even after Takumi's revisions to include Phoenix, it still feels like a one-shot. Unless the next game can utilize a game mechanic involving the Jurist System, we're not going to be seeing it again, outside of plot device.

Yes, but in the context of GS5, it's been a long time since Nick stood at the defense's bench. Of course he'd forget a few things - like how to press buttons.
I'm sure they'll come up with something. Maybe a dog tackles Apollo and steals case files from him. He takes all night to chase it down and retrieve them, so he ends up being sleep-deprived by trial day. (Also, that dog is totally the culprit of the case, just saying.)

Agreed and I also agree with one of your other posts where you said you think Klavier is just going to become the butt of the series
I'm curious as to what Takumi's original script for GS4 was if it didn't include Phoenix, though. It probably more heavily included Troupe Gramarye since the final version of the game seemed to brush the "death" of Thalassa to the side

I'm assuming there's going to be a new prosecutor for GS6, so Blackquill will just help her out the same way Klavier helped in 5-3, except to a greater extent
But now that I think about it, they're dynamic outside of a courtroom might not be all that interesting...

I know. I was assuming it would be Phoenix, Apollo, or Athena. The person who it is will probably be the primary focus of the game (even though Athena wasn't the silhouette for GS5).
I still think it'll be Phoenix for advertising purposes

Might be a weird question but since we have three main characters, I can't imagine them booting one of them off for the sake of someone else, but it would be weird if we just had another Phoenix/Athena/Apollo/Prosecutor cover
All the covers have been pretty accurate so far in terms of character importance (though Franziska maybe should be on the AAI cover. Not sure. Also, Edgeworth was only in one case of JFA, Ichiyanagi should be on the GK2 cover instead of Shigaraki, and Kristoph was on the cover to trick people into thinking he was a mentor)
I'm guessing Phoenix and Maya for advertising, new prosecutor, and then Apollo. Athena will probably get the boot

My dog is 9 at the moment, and she's perky enough for her age; I'm sure Missile could still be in service at 11
Back to the whole Maya thing, I agree it's probably for the best that she doesn't appear for the ENTIRE game, but I personally think it would be nice if her role was somehow integral to the plot again
Not so much that it's another 'Oh no! Maya's on-trial/kidnapped/probably dead!' scenario, but that her return has some meaning beyond just being a cameo I don't know how that work though; maybe to perform a channeling to help the police with a case, just like her mother did? Or something like that?

Life expectancy of Shiba Inu is 12 - 15 years. He'd be an old dog by then, but he'll be a veteran detective... with shades. Can't forget the appeal.
Edit: No, I don't think they'll take the "DL-6 route". Even if it was Redd White who blackmailed Grossberg into telling all and I'm sure Grossberg won't fall for the same trick again, I find it hard to believe that Maya would help the police - or even Nick - with spirit channeling. It's unreliable, and that's not what it's meant to be used for anyway.
The better question is: would she make a good witness to a crime? It doesn't have to take place at the village itself either. Hey, what if she's traveling by train and a murder happens nearby while she's heading off with Pearls to visit Nick? Ooh, I've always wanted a murder case involving a means of commute.

Well, if the crime scene takes place at a branch temple of Kurain, Maya could just be the one who calls the lawyer corp to the scene. I think I just want another scenario where we can cross-examine Maya. We rarely get to talk with her during cross-examinations except at the end of testimonies, but she usually doesn't say much. And if she doesn't have the time to act assistant to investigations, then she can still be a key witness.
After all, she always knows just the right thing to say on the stand. ;)

You know, similarly how Pearl and Trucy weren't assistants too. I kinda like to believe that GS team kinda wants to subvert this "sidekick girl" trope and stick with actual lawyers in this new are in the series.

"In theory", huh? She will try to help out regardless, but the prosecutor may not be happy about her chatting away freely with the defense about "what happened". On the other hand, there's the possibility she turns out to be a witness, Larry-style - as in, she appears at the last minute to reveal a crucial point that at first doesn't seem important, but somehow ends up helping the defense turn the tides. She'd be so excited about it too; this is worthy for bragging rights.
Bonus points if Nick arrives at the conclusion the same time she does, but she steals his lines. This is worthy for bragging rights too. The trial ends up becoming a race between the two of them to arrive at the truth before the other. This would be the ideal place for Nick to take the legal aid role, actually.

I don't know, at some scenes, it just feels a bit lazy.

Stylistic choice. There's never been a strong need for action scenes, aside from episode intros or moments when an incident takes place / is found. All other moments can easily be rendered with 3d modeling.
That said, I really like how PLvsAA implements character models in the background. I know it's an attribute more of the Layton games than the AA ones, but Capcom should consider utilizing it anyway. It gives the scene a little more depth. Naturally, it'd work wonders with 3D investigations.
