So yeah: the below is an April Fool's gag, not anything real. Sorry!

At C-R we like to do something or other around April Fools', but this year we didn't manage to pull anything together in time. That's when I saw this post floating around Tumblr, and given the amount of effort that went into it, it seemed like a fun thing to pick up on in lieu of a prank of our own. After contacting the artist for permission, we reposted it here and on Twitter/Tumblr.

And speaking of said artist, navnavprime - they put a lot of work into this, with NPCs based off of other Tumblr users, voice clips from various sources, faux concept art, and everything. It's all in good fun, and the creator hopes to use some of these resources in an upcoming fanfic. Give them a hand for putting the time into this, and for being kind enough to let us spread the fun.

A reliable tipster by the name of Frail Spool has leaked onto Tumblr the true face of Shuu Takumi's next game: a sequel to PLvsPW bringing Ghost Trick and Layton Brothers into the fold!

Asked to describe the game, the tipster passed along this message from their source, Hito:

Quote:
Now, I know some people here don’t like Layton Brothers, but they’re in here. So I took a look at the text document, and after reading a few paragraphs of how she was doing, Hito explained a few things to me.

"Well, seeing how we explored the past in the first VS game, we decided to have a sequel set in place in the future. Of course, we decided to add Layton Brothers given its time period, and Ghost Trick given the time traveling aspect that game has already."

"To adjust the characters style to mingle well with Ghost Trick’s hard shading and style, the characters where given a paler color pallete and the shading being not black, but close to black to emulate the neat shading they have."

"Capcom is currently discussing how the Ghost Trick mechanics will work on the 3DS, but we have a harder job. It’s difficult to format Layton Brothers’ controls on a 3DS touch screen, but we’re almost there. Can’t share details though, higher ups don’t appreciate gameplay leaks."

Aw man, had me there for a bit, especially at the Layton Brothers part. Loved that app to death, only app I ever paid for on my phone. That stung hard.

In our defense, that was entirely our tipster's work- I mean, Mr. Takumi's choice. We had nothing to do with it. :redd:

I feel both annoyed and extremely amused; good April Fools Joke pal :trucy: With Shu Takumi at the helm such a crossover would be AWESOME, but it'd unfortunately probably be 4 or something years till we could get it anyways

That article is 100% believable. That's exactly what they would say... except for the first paragraph, actually. Good show, I must say.

Patience. I expect it to be in the next Nintendo Direct, which will likely be next Thursday the 10th or the 17th. I predict a July release date.

If it seriously takes until July for them to release a game that's ALREADY IN ENGLISH, heads are gonna roll! :dahlia:

This is all because Nintendo of America has poorly timed their release calendar. If they had done things right, we would have gotten this, Azran Legacy, and Bravely Default way closer to the Euro date.
