I'd go for the Sly Cooper HD Collection, because, believe me, you'll have a blast playing the games.

Anyway, I'm still on the A Starry-Eyed Encounter chapter of Sly 2: Band of Thieves. And since I want to complete the game so I can move onto Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, I would have to complete the job, Ballroom Dance Party. But there is that part when you have to dance to complete the job and it is kinda like Simon Says. Knowing that I have trouble with Ms. Rudy's boss battle in the first Sly Cooper game, I might fail the job because of that. Any advice would be nice.

Well i know I will have a blast with Sly Cooper because I grew up with those games but sadly i never finished the 3rd game. I recently just finished Thieves in Time and it was amazing. I loved the final boss fight which was a sword fight through time :D. Thing is that the Sly Cooper Collection is $25 and Jak and Daxter collection is $17

I forgot how much fun Super smash bros melee was. In the hype for SSB3D i hooked up my Wii to play some Melee and it really made me feel nostalgic, i missed playing as Pichu.
I poped the game in early in the adternoon and when i stopped it was nightime.

I can relate man, Super Smash Bros Melee is easily in my top 3 favorite games of all time. It's so fun that I'd still play it any given time with great pleasure. I certainly put hundreds of hours in this game and I can't get enough of it.

Although Pichu? :ron: Doesn't it bother you that he hurts himself with almost every move?

Not really Pichu was my main back then.
I replaced him with Ivysaur and Sonic in Brawl because he wasn't in there.

Fought with boxes for a while today, looking for one that was big enough but not too big to send 22 DVDs out. And if they take all 22 of them, I'll be making about 14.50€ from those. Joybunnies. It might've been a bit more, had the ISBN of my Fushigi Yuugi DVDs been accepted, but they aren't cause apparently nobody wants them. (I don't overall blame them... Miaka is a bit annoying)

Also, the FAQ about Danganronpa? Proceeding nicely. Part of me wants to insert my nasty, inappropriate pun humor into the character descriptions that I try as hard as possible to keep spoiler free. But then, I'm wondering if I should list Free Time, its events and skills before the "Walkthrough" section or afterwards, since I'll mention unavailable students' times.

Yeah you need to accept a lot of little concessions like that on Prince and above (not that I've went above Prince).

Eh I like my Civ to be a leisurely experience, sort of a sandbox for interacting with a new world and the troubles of the people in it, rather than a competitive race. The race is always there in the background but it's something you just work towards rather than gun for. It's the growing political situation the joy of expanding in a new world (whether militarily or with culture and knowledge) that's the draw for me.

Admittedly, I'll probably switch back to Warlord difficulty even if I win. It's pretty close at this point in the game. I'm a bit ahead technologically and culturally, and I've managed to avoid any wars thus far, but it could easily take a turn for the worse. My friendly neighbor Theodora isn't as friendly as she used to be, and I suspect the only reason Washington hasn't attacked me is that he's too busy fighting Maria I and Pedro II (why is Washington always such a jerk in my games?). I suspect I won't be able to get a Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty passed before at least one civilization gets a nuclear arsenal. Best keep some gold in reserve once I reach that point...

Yeah...Nukes are pretty awful, I don't know how folks dealt with them before it was possible to make nuclear treaties.

Beats me. I've never had to deal with a nuclear-armed opponent; I only began stepping up the difficulty well after BNW was released. I'll have to start keeping all my reserve forces three tiles or more away from my cities. Luckily, there's a stretch of wilderness in my territory that should do nicely for my ground forces.

Nukes destroy everything around the place and you need to put workers to the job of cleaning up the wasteland before they can even build again.
Plus they devastate the population though you can build things to improve this.

Of course moving your forces around the cities might not make much difference if they opt (or simply have enough nukes) to destroy your forces.

Ah...I forgot how much I loved bad endings and detailed game overs.

I saw someone somewhere mention whoisthisgit's youtube channel and I vaguely remembered it from somewhere. Was from his series on "Creepy Bad Endings".

I guess I've always had this morbid thing about games where I like to see the consequences of failure. It makes it hit home a bit better and it can create some great dramatic tension. Chrono Trigger has a fantastic game over sequence if you lose to Lavos it's honestly moving. People talk about how 'lives' and 'failstates' are meaningless these days in video games but that's because people don't put any emphasis on loss. When loss is experienced it's often done in a bittersweet way, as part of an ending to a rather tragic game. It's guaranteed to happen and there's little you can do about it. Mini-obvious spoilers for the Walking Dead inbound: At certain points in the game you have to choose who lives or who dies, but someone always dies no way around it. It doesn't have any impact because there's nothing you could really do about it, it's not a failure on behalf of the gamer.

When they put something in as part of a failstate thats when loss truly hits home, there's responsibility about it. A sense of dread, maybe even of closure depending on how it's done. In the game Fahrenheit (or Indigo Prophecy to some) by Quantum Dream you can die/lose a vast quantity of ways and EVERY SINGLE ONE is given a degree of context in an outro. Ok sometimes it's by the disembodied voice of the dead protagonist which might seem silly but hey I'd be willing to believe it was the last conscious thoughts of the protagonist. There's a scene where you are chased by giant monstrous bugs around the office, if you lose there it's revealed you are actually tripping out on the office floor screaming your head off and work colleagues find you. Then it cuts to a rather 'deranged' sounding narration from the protagonist, now sectioned in an asylum saying about how he's not crazy but it's the end of his story.

I mean they even have a small narrated section where the protagonist curses his stupidity as he accidentally (or intentionally) takes alcohol and medicine together and dies from it.

I just think little game over sequences or bad endings make for a perfect touch on good games. Hell even bad games can be redeemed somewhat for me if they have those threatening little bits of consequence to add weight to the protagonist's failures.

Bring it up because I've been watching "whoisthisgits" series on bad endings once more.

@Pierre: Does any game ever do good bad endings anymore? First one that comes to mind that I really loved was Banjo Kazooie's. That was one Game Over screen that was quite enjoyable.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

Ah Banjo Kazooie terrified me to the core when I first saw it. I really hated the concept of something nice turning into a monster so it had a monumental effect on me and the heavy guilt that came with it. A classic game over screen.

Also I'm sure they are out there in places it's just they are isolated incidents. AA6 had a few bad endings that were pretty good, Heavy Rain could have various playable characters killed off at certain points and the game would just continue from the other character's perspectives but it's not quite the same.

Well, I'm officially switching back to Warlord difficulty. I won a cultural victory on Prince, but it wasn't a very satisfying victory. I had to nuke one of my own cities to stop Washington from conquering me. He had the city surrounded by a huge force and said city wouldn't hold them off if another turn passed (frankly, it was by a stroke of pure luck that he didn't take the city in one turn). A nuclear missile was the only way I could hope to save my city.

I had a Bomb Shelter there. When you capture an enemy city, the city loses half its population. With my nuke, far fewer people died, the enemy forces were wiped out, and the city remained under my control. I had workers scrubbing the fallout the instant it was safe (which was two turns later when Washington offered a peace treaty in my favor). As far as protecting my people was concerned, it was the lesser of two evils.

There are two ways to be a bad leader. The first is to make unnecessary sacrifices. The second is to not make necessary sacrifices. The latter might be more compassionate, but it's still self-destructive. Reducing people's lives to mere numbers is something I hate ever having to do, but that's exactly what happens in warfare. Kill one person to save ten, or kill them all indirectly by sparing the one? My duty as ruler is to protect my people to the best of my ability. I wasn't happy about it, but in those circumstances, the best way to protect my people from Washington was to sacrifice several thousand noncombatants to save the rest of them. Letting it get to that point in the first place was a horrendous failure on my part. Letting Washington's forces slaughter half of the city's residents would have been an even greater failure.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of my people hated me for my decision. Let them hate me. Better for them to be alive and angry than for them to be dead.

This shit got dark real fast.
Face your emptiness don't be afraid. The danger is often smaller than your fear.

@Pierre: Does any game ever do good bad endings anymore? First one that comes to mind that I really loved was Banjo Kazooie's. That was one Game Over screen that was quite enjoyable.

If you let your goddess' stress get to 100% or fail to get the most shares in the world in 180 days, she gives up on her idol career and kicks you out, at which point you wander the streets aimlessly until you get sucked back to your own world with no memory of your time in Gamindustri.

If you don't beat MYU within seven minutes and stop Saki from singing at Moocheriel, Saki and Finnel die. It gets worse if you know what's supposed to happen in the true endings; the core of the planet is dying and needs to be fixed or it'll basically collapse/explode/something within a year. You can't fix it without Saki and Finnel. So in the long run, EVERYONE dies in the bad ending.

Corpse Party

Spoiler: Bad ending 2 in Chap 2
Ayumi becomes possessed by an unknown spirit and runs to the main entrance. Yoshiki leaves her and heads to classroom 4-A, pulling the lever that raises a bridge to the right side of the main hallway. During the occurrence, Ayumi, unpossessed, is found in the west hall. As she walks to the center while calling to Yoshiki, a piano wire cuts her in pieces. Returning to Yoshiki, he finds Ayumi's lifeless body on the ground, sliced from the torso. Yoshiki screams in horror and questions why this is happening. As he stares at the corpse, the lever automatically flips itself, sending another wire to the center of the Main Hallway and slicing him in half.

Spoiler: Bad ending 4 in CH 2
After the last piece of the victim's memoir has been read, the screen darkens and, once returned to normal, Yoshiki finds Ayumi's cannibalized body in front of him. As Yoshiki turns around, he spits out a piece of a body part and starts to get the idea of the part's owner. Angered from seeing Ayumi's body, Yoshiki asks Ayumi who killed her. As Yoshiki searches around, he finds a note near Ayumi's body and applies that the one who killed her is Yoshiki. Emotionally broken, Yoshiki is, once again, possessed and continues to cannibalize Ayumi while moaning in sorrow.
