Anyways, yeah; the Dual Destinies soundtrack ROCKS! All the court themes -though particularly the Objection themes- were epic and evocative, the character themes were undeniably catchy, and the themes highlighting new elements in the game -the Mood Matrix and Revizualization themes- were a welcome addition to the series
I can't really mention anything in particular that hasn't been covered, so all I can say is that it was an amazing musical experience

Moving on though, I think that this developed appreciation is something that is really the case with most video game music; there will be some standout tracks in any album that can be thoroughly enjoyed apart from the game, but for the most part, most songs require you to play the game and listen to it multiple times before you can really start to appreciate them. As such, I really only have the soundtracks to games I've actually played on my iPod, as I find it to get difficult into that I have not played; for example I have not played most of the Final Fantasy series, and despite the soundtracks to these games being 'legendary', I have not been able to get into many of them as a result of my lack of nostalgia. On a side note, I felt the same about the AJ soundtrack; I tried listening to it before playing the games, and the only 4 stand out themes for me was the Objection and Pursuit themes, Trucy's theme, as well as Klavier's. Everything else was kind of forgettable until I actually played the game

First time I listened to it, I thought it didn't QUITE measure up to the Pursuit themes before it. After playing the game though, all I need to do is hear the opening notes for the adrenaline to start pumping

I dunno what his problem is. Certainly, some themes do jump rather quickly back to the beginning of the piece - most notably, Apollo's objection theme - but the transitions themselves are fluid. The transitions shouldn't be extended for too long anyway; it'd take away from the melody.
Also, a musical key determines the tone of the piece of music; if it sounds higher or lower in pitch overall. It can also give a certain mood depending on whether it's in a major or minor key.
Besides, none of these tracks change key in the first place. It's pretty obvious if there's a key change.

I didn't have a problem with any of the transitions myself; my guess is that he just probably felt that the quick change from the end to the beginning felt a bit jarring in some tracks which I can understand, even if I don't necessairly share the same opinion

It sounds kinda slick and IMO it just really fits the whole "detective" mood of the investigations in the latter part of the game, when the plot thickens.

The Dual Destinies OST is my favourite of any Ace Attorney. I really like how they orchestrated all of the classic themes from their original Game Boy/DS sounds. For example, I didn't care much for Apollo's theme in AJ but in DD, I was blown away. Likewise, the remix and orchestration of the T&T objection theme and Edgeworth's revival from JFA are also well done.

I think Capcom did consider that though, because they ended up using core 2013 differently than how Core was used in previous games. It happens a few times during court, but mostly it always happens right at the end of each investigation, when the characters go "That's it for today, we have all we need for court tommorrow!". I think it builds a very spunk kind of tension. It gives more of a sense of "it's now or never" than it gives off the usual shocking reveal vibe the other ones had.

I noticed that, while listening to the different core themes from 2001 to 2013, that they steadily lose that (as you say) "oh damn" feel. The core themes for the Gyakuten Kenji's (BOTH) are really upbeat and that when you really notice the loss of the suspense. I think the core theme that changed it was Apollo's core; so many people liked it, and it was upbeat and it gave that "shit will go down" feeling, so GK thought "Hey, let's make it EVEN MORE upbeat!" and then... we got Core 2013. Or maybe that's an entirely wrong premise, I dunno.

I think the explanation is rather that Iwadare wanted to bring back the Objection theme HE made for the original trilogy
