Thanks to L~A for the tip!

Update: More details (thanks to L~A for the heads up):

*joins the prayer circle* If this doesn't get localized, Capcom might face even worse fallout than the whole AAI2 fiasco. I hope that the idea of that scares them enough to ensure a localization but that's really just wishful thinking.

If this gets localized then maybe we could get it by October like GS5.

Please let it be so...!

Honestly, I don't care about a timely localisation as long as we actually get the game. I'm a patient person, so waiting isn't a problem :D

I'd prefer if they took their time. DD's localization was being worked on before the Japanese release, and that still came out a bit rushed and with tons of typos. This one's gonna be a tough one with all the cultural mixup, so much so that we can't even be sure if they're gonna localize it at all.

I expect a real, dog-less trailer in tomorrow's Nintendo Direct. We have a release date in 3 months, a prosecutor reveal, box art and all core gameplay mechanics ("Joint Reasoning" and "Jury Battles" aside from the usual gameplay), this is where they start pumping out promotional materials.

I can think a couple of reasons, amongst them the lack of Phoenix Wright in the name, or any other familiar characters in the promo materials, and the difficulty in adapting the setting of the game to a western audience. It's also a sort of spin-off, and we know what happened to the last spinoff in the west. Also I'm sure the idiots who "boycott" the games because they don't come out in plastic cartridges don't help.

DD's sales do help DGS' case, but it isn't a certain candidate for localization as a potential direct sequel to DD would be.

Nice insult there! But it's probably a moot point anyway as modern Capcom is an absolute mess when it comes to doing anything right. If we get it, and I think that's a BIG if, it will be guaranteed to be digital only, and like ANY other retail game released digital only, I will not be buying it.

Why thank you!

I'm glad you can be that proud of being part of the problem and contributing negatively to the franchise's future in the western market. When you realize you're being irrational, there's an amazing game called "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies" waiting for you in the eShop. Buy it, play it, and then tell me what you thought of it, and whether owning it on a plastic cartridge inside a box would have made your experience any better.

But enough of that, I don't wanna derail this thread, we can have this discussion privately if you so wish.

Let's hope for some localization news sooner than later now that the Japanese release is so close!

If it follows the tradition of a special soundtrack, a statuette, and other goodies then I'm definitely pre-ordering!

Not for 7300 yen. That's like $60, no more than a console game.

Probably just the soundtrack, I imagine. But, still, I'm in. I'll adorn my Ace Attorney shelf once more.

My apologies, we've had this debate before when DD came out, we'll agree to disagree. Further debate would be pointless. Though for the record, I did borrow my friends 3DS (the whole system of course, because, you know digital only) and played the game ages ago. I liked it a lot, baring the common complaint of the investigations being "dumbed down".

That DGS special edition is looking slick though. I really wish we'd get more of that stuff outside of Japan. I really liked my GS4 special edition, and wish I hadn't sold it to a friend. If the 3DS wasn't region locked I'd seriously consider importing that set, I just wish they'd go full soundtrack and not sampler in it though.

3DS games are standard $60 here, so it's not that expensive XD (Wii U is standard $80 :beef: )

Well Australia's now in the Eurovision, so I guess it's official? :bellboy:
It is weird we've been grouped that way, but it's better than being alone and potentially waiting much longer to receive games!

Wait for real? Australia's in Eurovision?! The definition of "Europe" is definitely getting strange but I don't care, I'd enjoy a "World Music contest" if it was as crazy and funky as Eurovision.

Err back on topic:

Yeah PAL region is pretty good that way, though it might mean you need to import because while things WORK in another region it might not be released in that region. I remember a game shop going: *Nudge nudge* "Hey I can get you an Australian version of the New 3DS if you want!" well before it was released in the UK.

Technically, Nintendo did create separate regions for EU and AU. Then they set everything, including the console itself, to think of them as one region.

Ah yes, we have a franchise here that almost exclusively gets stock from the UK because games (used to) come out there months before it did in Australia. Now releases are more close together so it's not that bad.

Our firmware updates also end in "E" and out eShop updates in tandem with Europe too, so I just assume Nintendo of Australia is really just a name for doing business/releasing things here, and the rest is up to NoE.

Anyway, there is always that region unlocking exploit for old 3DS's... :gant:
