Hey everyone, I just ...got... nintendogs. I was just wondering, what do you, er, do?

It takes me about 8 tries to get my puppy (Edgeworth!!) to respond to me and theres not much to do...

Is it one of those games that you can only really play for about 30 minutes at a time before you get bored or am i just missing out on something...?

I played it for a whilebefore getting bored, but I'm a Pokemon fanatic, so most of my gaming takes the form of raising cute, fluffy things.

I never got the hang of the microphone bit. My husky never got a word I said, so I just took her out on tons of walks, got loads of items and stuff and was awesome in the agility and frizbee competitions.

It is one of those games that's fun to play for a while, but will ultimately gather dust at the back of your collection until you find it a year or so later, turn it on, and find your dogs utterly hate you. But it's fun while it lasts.

Listen to this man.

It was ridiculously addicting for the first two weeks or so, but after that, it just becomes a chore. I returned mine a loooong time ago.

I regret even buying this game. I got it a couple of months ago, played it for about 2 hours, got bored and put it down. Haven't picked it back up since.

I love Nintendogs!

It's not really a play-for-hours-on-end game but a lot of fun when you have 15-30 min to kill. Getting your puppy to learn and respond to you takes time and patince (like real pups) but keeping their personalites and breeds in mind can help. Some puppies are easier to train then others and might be great in one sport wile being terrible in another.

My original (and still faveorite puppy) Winnie the (subborn) Shi-Tsu is awsome in the frisbee contest but gets nervious in the obediance contest. It takes time but all puppies can be trained. Just dont get frustrated and enjoy your time with the puppies.

It's cute.. But after a while it's just like "Oh, I have 15 minutes before class... NINTENDOGS!"
And I have the hardest time getting my nintendogs to recognize my voice... But I never could get the PW games to recognize my voice either.

It was not designed for American gamers, the reason it ranks so high in Japan is because these kinds of sim games are super popular over there and this is the best simulator style game of its type, ever.

The game is alot of fun, it does get a bit slow for awhile (I'd say after 5-10 hours of play) but if you can get past that slow part the game becomes alot of fun. The game is designed for short burst of play and not for hours upon hours of play at a time.

At first you can't do much, your puppy tires really fast and you have to wait for the next day to continue training and raising him. However as your dog gets stronger he can play longer, and as you earn more money you can have alot of dogs, and this allows you to play for quite awhile in one sitting. Yes I understand why people hate it, but you have to put some effort into it to get alot of fun rewards at the end.

Its alot like Animal Crossing, the first month or so of play you won't be able to do much, but the more you play and develop your town, the more stuff there is to do and collect and the longer you can play before needing to stop for the day.

Well I didn't buy it, I only buy games that are worth the money, after I've tried them out first... I love my M3 simply.

Yeah I figured after like 20 minutes my puppy was 'too tired to learn' that it wouldn't be so gripping like PW

My big sister LOVES this game. Seeing as she liked to play Trauma Center on my DS, I bought her Nintendogs to play on it too. She LOVED it.

Personally, I think Nintendogs is one of those games you can only play for 15 minutes at a time. Because there's just NOTHING TO DO. Walkies and contests don't last all that long, y'know.

I haven't been on Nintendogs for months... I've got this close to trading it in so many times, but then I turn it on to delete my save data and they're JUST TOO CUTE and I feel bad and put it back on the shelf....
Basically, it's like Animal Crossing. Fun for the first week or so, then you get bored and leave it. Except there's less stuff to do on Nintendogs. And the microphone's CRAP.

I always felt I'd be doing the pups a favour by deleting the save data. Cos I didn't want the poor little doggies to go hungry and thirsty, thereby running away from home, just because the game was boring and I couldn't be arsed to play it.
And the microphone was made of fail. I gave my dog the command to sit, and he jumped. Great, Rex, but that's not gonna win us any competitions, is it?

I gave my dog a command to sit and he just stared at me like I was the dumb one. So I screamed down the microphone, and it did a backflip for some reason. :nick:

I really liked the game for the first month/2 months, then played it every weekend.....then once a month...... And now I can't remember the last time I played it :P

I'd be surprised if they all haven't ran away or been taken into care, or something :D

That'd be Dalmation and Friends. I personally like Daschund because you get huskies and retrievers, though.

...I fail at spelling dog breeds, it seems.

I have both Daschund and Friends and Dalmatian and Friends. Although I got Dalmatian and Friends as a memorial to my Dalmatian, Dazey. In fact, All of dogs I made were in Memory of the dogs I grew up with.

But since I got my Great Dane, I prefer caring for real dogs then a video game dog.

Also, As a Dog Obedience Trainer in Training, The whole obedience set-up in this is nothing like real life. Although, the other 2 compeitions are very accurate. :yuusaku:

I rented Dalmatian and Friends for a week. It was fun for a little while, but I ran out of things to do. I put in the Action Replay codes to see what all the items are. I let my little nephews and nieces play it and they're mostly interested giving the dog a bath. I'll have to reset the game when I return it now. I wouldn't want it to run away or anything. I don't think I'll be buying it, but it was nice to see what the game is about. Now to get back to my Animal Crossing town. I hope my neighbors didn't move away.

I sold mine a few weeks ago. It was better I sold it to someone who would actually take care of the puppies rather than me not playing it anymore.
