You're kidding, right? Another live action movie based on an old cartoon. I kinda liked the Chipmunks back when I was little, but this is yet another movie I probably won't go see.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

And this, my friends, is why hollywood is beaten by japan. And that's even with making those crazy shit quality dubs that'll make viewers skip streight to american-produced stuff.

I agree with RevFirst on this one. Mega Man > Everything else. Even in movies.

May be NSFW

Anyway, looks like they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one.
First Scooby Doo, then Garfield, Underdog, Bratz...

What's next? Live-action My Little Pony? Care Bears? Jem and the Holograms? (although a live-action Jem would sound pretty cool... *shot)

And speaking of small dogs...

The Alvin movie doesn't bother me that much. Sure, it's a terrible idea, but I never really watched Alvin, so I'm not that mad about it. Underdog, however....Ugh, makes me want to headbutt a kitten.

UNDERDOG WAS A MILD-MANNERED SHOESHINE BOY, HE WAS NOT A WISE-CRACKING HOUSEPET.

I saw the trailer for Alvin and the Chipmunks when I went to see The Simpsons. It comes out this Christmas, but I'll wait for the DVD. I hope to see more episodes coming to DVD rather than just themed episodes. I watched the Valentines Day themed one, and it got old fast. Hopefully this new movie will bring about the other Chipmunks episodes to DVD. I really want to see the episode where the chipmunks go looking for their mom again.

To be honest, I'm more surprised they didn't do this sooner. Everything in movies (and entertainment in general) works in a cycle; you make something popular, it dies down, you wait a few years and push it again to make a quick buck. It worked for the Ninja Turtles, it worked for Garfield and it probably will work for Alvin and the Chipmunks (and Speed Racer, next year).

No. Just...no. And they're trying to make them look gangsta to top it all off? Wanna be 'down with the kids', do you Hollywood? XD

I really hate that they keep turning old shows into modern movies. They seem so out of place in the 21st century, which means that they have to change with the times. And that means they lose their original appeal and personality.

I hate you, Hollywood. I really do.

The old children's cartoon appeals to adults who grew up with said cartoon and wish to see it for sheer nostalgia factor, and the gangsta part appeals to kids who grew up on MTV and think it cool. It's a win-win situation for the whole family. Nostalgia for the adults, pop culture for the kids, and headbutting kittens for the rest of us. :D

If you mean because their wearing the sunglasses, that I can actually explain since that also happened with Garfield when they for firsted showed the Live Action version of him. That was do to the fact that Garfield's eyes and colors weren't finally finalized yet and they re-released the trailer when the eye problem was fixed. The eyes on most digitalized characters are actually usually one of the last thinngs to be worked on becuase it takes so much work. That's probalay what is happening here.

The clothing is a whole different story... :yuusaku:

But the thing was: The Garfield Live Action movie sucked. Only a few things were actually like the comic. The rest was horribly out of character. Not only that, but the plot just horribly screamed "HOLLYWOOD!" I haven't seen "A Tale of Two Kitties" but I have no reason to believe it is any better.

It's gotten a mediocre release, but they're making a big deal about it over here because two Star Académie participants (Imagine American Idol only in french, and worse) are dubbing the songs from the movie.

Sometimes, I hate my province. This is one of those times.

At least the Speed Racer live-action movie will be good... right?

I recently saw a trailer for this Chipmunks movie.

Alvin ate the green thing's poop.

That was almost enough to make me want to go. Almost.

But no.
