Just a short something I wrote because the idea wouldn't leave my brain. << It's not that good. Heck, it's written more like a script than real prose. Anyway, that picture I drew that's in the fanart section of Court Records is basically the last scene... except it takes place in Edgey's office instead of some weird poorly lit hallway. I'm very proud of my art in general (too much so actually...), but I'm not good at fanfictions.



It was another slow day in the office. I was lounging at my desk as usual and my assistant was reading a book...

Phoenix: OW! NOT AGAIN! *hopping on one foot* *shakes fist at the bookshelf*

He gets antsy on slow days like this. Fortunately, our slump had ended. She walked in. She was empty-handed and empty-hearted. With an expression on her face that could soften even the most hard-hearted of people, I just couldn’t say no.

Franziska: MR. PHOENIX WRIGHT!
Phoenix: AH! FRANZISKA VON KARMA!
Franziska: WHERE’S MY WHIP?! YOU TOOK IT, DIDN’T YOU!
Phoenix: What?! How could you lose your whip?! You’re always carrying it with you!
Franziska: DIDN’T YOU HEAR ME?! YOU STOLE IT!
Phoenix: How could ANYONE steal it? You whip anyone within a three mile radius!

Franziska: Who did it, Fey... Who?
Phoenix: What? What’s wrong, miss?
Franziska: Someone stole it... My most prized possession...
Phoenix: I swear, if this turns out to be another “Maltese Mouse” case...
Maya: Hang on a sec, Nick. Let’s hear her out.
Franziska: I don’t know how it happened... It just suddenly went missing...
It was simple. She went to sleep with her treasure next to her, and when she woke up in the morning, it was gone. She searched her whole house, but it wasn’t anywhere…

Phoenix: O_o Anyway, don’t you have like a spare or something? You’re usually so well prepared. (Not to mention that you seem to be into that sort of thing...)
Franziska: What was that?
Phoenix: Err nothing.
Franziska: Hmph. I do not recall asking for a foolish fool’s foolishly foolish opinion.
Phoenix: Franziska, think about it. I don’t have a driver’s license, so it’s too troublesome for me to go to the prosecutor’s office at my own leisure. I’d have to know that you were still there so late at night, and I’d have to know if you were sleeping. I’d have to break into the prosecutor’s office because it’s closed to the public at that hour! I’m a defense attorney, not a cat burglar!
Franziska: ... You’re right. Furthermore, you wouldn’t have the audacity to do something like that.
Phoenix: What?! I’ll have you know that back in the day, I once broke into a cattle ranch and tipped--
Franziska: *SLAP!* I don’t have time to listen to the foolish ramblings of a foolish fool from this foolish land of fools! ... I really wish I had my whip... Alright then, Mr. Phoenix Wright! You’re to help me find my whip!
Phoenix: O_O What?! Why?!
Franziska: *stomps her heel on his hurt foot*
Phoenix: O_O AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

My partner, Nick, and I agreed to take the case. We decided to check out the usual suspects, a certain Gumshoe named Dick being at the top of our list.
Gumshoe: What do you want?
Maya: We want answers, Gumshoe.
Gumshoe: I dunno know nothing!
Maya: Mighty hasty answer, dontcha think? You didn’t even know what we were going to ask about.
Franziska: Please... *sniff* My life is empty without my precious...
Gumshoe: ... I’m sorry lady, but I honestly know nothing...

Gumshoe: Hey, pal! It’s been a while! How’s it going?
Phoenix: Um, Gumshoe, we kinda wanna ask you a few ques--
Gumshoe: AHHHHHHH! IT’S MS. VON KARMA! DON’T LET HER WHIP ME! *runs away*
Franziska: *tackles him* HOLD ON A MINUTE, SCRUFFY!!
Phoenix: Errr... Ms. von Karma, I don’t think he took it. Didn’t you hear what he just said?
Gumshoe: *cowering*
Franziska: ... *kicks him with her heel*
Gumshoe: OW!
Franziska: You got lucky this time, Scruffy!

Something in his eyes told me that he was tellin’ the truth. For once, it wasn’t him… So we pondered over our next suspect…
Phoenix: Could it be the Judges?
Maya: Unlikely.
Franziska: One of them did try to steal it once...
Maya: Yeah, but doing it that way would be out of character for them...

Maya: Hey, Nick, think it was that judge’s brother? Edgeworth did say that he tried to confiscate her whip once!
Phoenix: Nah. Confiscation is one thing, stealing is something else. They wouldn’t do something like this.
Maya: Hmm...

That only left one other person on our list... Miles Edgeworth, the slipperiest fish out there... A smooth talker that one. Gave us a run for our money more than once.
Edgeworth: I don’t know anything, Fey...
Maya: You claiming that you don’t know nothing?
Edgeworth: No. I’m claiming that I don’t know anything. To claim that I "don’t know nothing" is a double negative, and good grammar dictates that two negatives make a positive.
See what I mean? A smooth talker.
Maya: Enough of your word games, Edgeworth. You’re going to answer my questions and you’d better give me a straight answer!
Edgeworth: I’m not afraid of you OR her.
I knew then that he wasn’t going down without a fight.

Edgeworth: Franziska’s whip?
Phoenix: Yeah. Any idea who took it?
Edgeworth: It was me.
Franziska: WHAT?!
Edgeworth: You were carrying a lot as you left the building this morning and you dropped your whip in the hallway. I was expecting you to run right back when you noticed it was gone. *hands it over*
Phoenix: O_o Edgeworth, are you sure that’s a good idea?
Edgeworth: I grew up with Franziska. It’s a simple matter of knowing when to block or when to dodge.
Phoenix: Or when to shut up...
Maya: So you just lost it after all, Ms. Von Karma.
Franziska: A VON KARMA IS PERFECT! *starts whipping everyone*
Phoenix: OW!
Maya: OW!
Edgeworth: *dodges*

And so another case closed on a satisfying note... We caught Miles Edgeworth and Ms. von Karma got her treasure back. The end...

Phoenix: T_T This is what I get for helping Franziska von Karma...
Edgeworth: She is a creature incapable of gratitude.

Wow! I don't care what you wrote about 20% of my admittedly lacking brain cells, that was very funny. I kinda like the script style - it seemed more like the games.
