"Oh right, in the future they probably have super-accurate gyroscopes and accelerometers in all the controllers so the motion controls should feel pretty realistic," Jay commented, examining his controller as well. There are also buttons for gas, brake, hopping--which, when going around corners, is like a drift button--and to use your item. Don't ever use your brake unless you're playing at the fastest setting. it just wastes speed. Release the gas if you feel you're going too fast around a turn. That basically covers it."

Sayako had managed to steer the little anthropomorphic mushroom driver surprisingly well along the in-game roads, but struggled to grasp the concepts of ramps, drifting, and especially combat. Alchie woke up, startled by a nightmare - one of the reasons she tended not to sleep much nowadays. Cursing the position she had chosen to nap in, she stood up and walked off. 'I wonder whether everybody's asleep by now...'

[I’ve come to a difficult decision. Nobody has submitted a murder plan, so I’m randomly selecting a murderer for this chapter.

I’ve said from the beginning that this is a trial-run of this game format to work out any bugs that might occur. Well, one of the bugs is what happens when nobody in the cast is willing to murder. I ask that you be a good sport if you’re selected because the game can’t continue if there is no killing.

I realize some of you may be upset because there’s absolutely no way your character would ever be a murderer. Well, you’ll have to create a reason for your character to do so in their backstory or something if you're chosen in that case. The motive is a wish, I’m sure you can think of something.

Please understand as a GM that I have to look out for the best interest of the game. The alternative is this game being stuck in Daily Life for forever and I’m sure all of you would agree that that simply isn’t an option.

Hope there’s no hard feelings either way. At the end of the day, this is a game.

I'm developing the mystery now. Sorry this phase lasted so long, but I wanted to think hard about this before deciding]

Some time after the video gaming session, it was time for the talent show. It was being held in the auditorium, and Sakura had once again decorated, much better this time though with the aid of her talent. She had also provided props for anyone who had needed them, so long as they were just visual aids.

With the lack of a volunteer, Ryuji shrugged.

"I-I can go first," Ryuji said, somewhat nervous and getting on the stage in front of all of his classmates. "W-Why not, I guess..."

Silently, to prepare himself, Ryuji muttered the trademark "I am Ryuji Arisato, the Ultimate Actor...I am the greatest actor in the world."

Ryuji had prepared two acts -- an original monologue that Ryuji had written in a theater production he was ready to pitch before he decided to attend the Hope's Peak Academy. The dramatic monologue was long, and depressing -- a young man fresh out of college who couldn't find passion in life or love, is beckoned by his one friend to keep himself alive. For his prop, Ryuji prepared a heavy metal box that resembled a tall building. A skyscraper reaching to the highest point, and this monologue was Ryuji alone, fighting his own inner battles to justify living. The drama of the performance had Ryuji hoping people would understand that it was somewhat an analogy of his own life. It was a depressing and sad piece, one with hindsight probably wasn't the best choice for an uplifting talent show. Nervous that he had dampened the mood, Ryuji quickly prepared his second act, a musical number from his favorite musical Hairspray, the final musical number where he showed what it meant to be an Ultimate Actor. His singing & choreography was flawlessly transitioning between the different characters he had to portray. Ryuji had hoped that the energy of the performance would be enough to create a happier mood to contrast his opening. With the uplifting finisher, Ryuji nervously bowed on stage, as he always does after finishing a performance, afraid of the reactions and judgment of the crowd.
