Ryuji looked over at Matt sadly. Unsure if there was anything he could do for him, Ryuji thought about doing a comedy act, a monologue, or another song in order to calm Matt down.

"...C-Calm down..." Ryuji said to Matt, unsure if anything was getting to him. Ryuji continued to play music for the others, one a lullaby he hoped would allow the others to get some rest.

"W-Where is Monokuma..? The least he could do is let everyone rest on some beds..."

"G-God.. damn it.." He said, standing up. But even standing up was hard for him as he staggered around until he reached the door.

He tried to open the door, but it didn't open. "Open.. the door.." He gritted his teeth and punched the door twice in a futile attempt hurting his fists in the attempt. Some blood was seen go down his hand from his knuckled.

When he realized it was futile, he slumped back down to the floor and hugged his knees again, shivering.

"S-s-screw this." said Arthur, picking himself back up to his feet. He exhaled strongly onto his cupped hands and shook them out. "If I'm gonna die, it's not gonna be lying down on the job."

"S-S-Sayako, keep everyone together as best you c-can. They need you." Arthur paused for a moment. "Er... Ryuji, you too. Keep it together."

He walked uncertainly over to Charlie. "I don't know how you're not freezing to death, but we need to stop this if we can." He lightly pulled on her forearm. "We need to take another look around and find out if we can stop this. At least before hypothermia sets in."

Matt had been hugging his knees, trying to not freeze. He had given up on trying to speak to Alchie, when he hears something in his ears:

"Matt, please... don't hurt yourself..."

He jolted up and frantically looked around, trying to see anything resembling the woman he'd once loved.

"Wait - what?!" He said to himself. "What do you mean?!"

"You need to move on... for your sake..."

"How can I move on?!" He desperately said. "I can't forget you like that! Even if it's you asking me!"

"I'm not asking you to forget... but... just remember the happy times, you know? I can't take seeing you like this..."

"Everyone, please! Compose yourselves!" Jay pleaded, no longer referring to the restless spirits, but the ones who would perhaps actually hear him, "I-I can't afford to lose anyone else! We need to s-stay together."

"'Lose anyone else?' What do you mean? Did something happen?" spoke a voice from the ether.

"Ooooooh shiiiiiiiit..." Jay muttered. He never much cared for cursing, but sometimes he just couldn't help it when something boggled even his mind. He had never actually heard a spirit talk directly to him before, and the first time it happened, his facade shattered.

"Jay, are you quite alright? It pains me to see you like this," the voice continued

"Does it look like I'm alright? I'm clumped on the floor with my classmates trying to keep warm in a devilishly cold Portuguese hotel lobby! How is any of this okay!?" Jay replied, huddling up to whomever he could, a shaky hand still trying to hold up the green patch.

"My last moments with you... you were acting so unlike yourself. What happened?" the voice asked.

It was then that Jay recognized whose voice it was. For some reason, the Ultimate Cosplayer had returned. "I... That wasn't me. Well, it was, but... someone different was controlling me. I said a lot of things I didn't mean--" Jay immediately collapsed in fits of sobbing. Those were the exact words he'd heard used as excuses for things that happened a long time ago. Things he'd have liked to lock away and never retrieve again.

"Oh dear... well I forgive you," the voice responded, clearly meaning to sound concerned, but the flat, unnatural tone of the spirit's voice just sounded uncanny.

"Oh I... well I forgive you too. It was never meant to end the way it did. You were never supposed to become a killer! It wasn't right! None of this is right!!!" Jay was shouting at this point, clutching his throbbing head, the patch in his hand flat against his temple.

"So what are you going to do about it?" the voice asked, the flat and emotionless tone masking the true meaning behind the question.

For once in his life, Jay didn't have the answer. He just lay there, trying to stay warm, his head swimming in utter chaos with every single thought he'd ever had.

[There's been some confusion about this phase. The time you get your rooms will be the same time the phase change to the class trial happens. It's just Daily Life until then

I don't expect anyone to volunteer for murder. This chapter is 'special' and purposefully different from all the others and you'll see why when the trial starts

To give you guys more flexibility on what to do in this waiting time, you can explore the hotel and make up what it looks like. It won't be important for the trial as long as you guys don't explore any bedrooms]

Jay shot up from the group and bolted towards a random set of double doors. He crashed into them and, unexpectedly, they gave way and flew open, allowing Jay to tumble to the ground. Looking up, he witnessed a grand hallway lined with several chandeliers. Doors further down the hallway clearly led to other rooms. "Y-you mean... we weren't locked in the lobby?" Jay asked. He picked himself up and dusted himself off. He simply collapsed against a wall, clearly still in no shape to go exploring for the moment.

"Yeah, I'm fine now.." He said, standing up. He staggered a bit, but he found his balance after a few seconds. "I'll go find something, I guess." He went off into the hallways.

After a while, he came back. "Alright, here's what I've found:

Ryuji picked the two girls up in relative ease, carrying them slowly to the first aid room, hoping he would be able to deliver them safely before they woke up. "Maybe I should've left this to Van...M-Matt, if you're going to first aid too, can you bring the guitar?"

Ryuji took quick glances at the two girls around his shoulders and let out a sigh. "T-there's no way you guys will forgive me, b-but I promise I'll keep everyone safe...a-an entertainer's job is to keep people happy...I-I won't let anyone down." Ryuji had to stop for a minute to recollect, the voices growing louder in his head. "W-who even is this..?" he asked, not recognizing the voice.

Sighing, Ryuji didn't notice the banana peel that was in the middle of the floor. Stepping over it, Ryuji flipped over, sending him and the girls straight to the ground. "N-NOO!" he screamed as he landed on his face. A loud crash could be hear throughout the hotel, as a flustered Ryuji crawled over to the girls to make sure they were okay. "W-Who the hell put a banana peel in the middle of the hallway..?"

Jay needed something to help him calm down and he spent a minute looking around the lobby. Almost as if he was being guided to it, he saw the glint of the guitar where Ryuji had left it. Jay requested, "Um, if it's okay Matt, can I take the guitar? I can play to comfort everyone else too." Not waiting for a reply, he walked over and grabbed the instrument, plucking the strings with delicate fingers to make sure it was still in tune. He begins to play a soft arpeggio and walk down the hallway towards First Aid, singing to himself along the way, "I close my eyes, only for a moment then the moment's gone."

"T-That's okay," Ryuji said.

The group arrived at the first aid room. Opening the door, they saw two beds available for rest, and a cavalcade of medical tools located on every nook and cranny. Ryuji set Sakura and Flo on the beds. Finding blankets in the drawers, he set tucked the two in and set a glass of water by the two. For a second, Ryuji had to pause in order to sort out the voices speaking in his head. Walking out of the first-aid room, he carefully closed the door and turned to the others.

"S-Should someone watch them..?" Ryuji asked. "I was thinking of exploring the performance hall and bar, but I don't feel safe leaving the two alone like this..."

With that, Ryuji dragged a resistant Charlie all the way to the bar. The bar was a dark and dinky scene, with the only lighting being the small flickering lightbulbs located by the barstools.

As soon as Charlie entered the bar, she started to feel sick. There was a cabinet crammed with old bottles, which had even older contents that slowly evaporated, left the bottles through old corks and filled the air. Seemingly getting drunk from just breathing in the air, Charlie had to sit down and covered her mouth and nose with her hand.
