“These cookies are amazing!” Slezak exclaimed, shoveling more into his mouth.

“Usually not my thing, but I have to agree.” Matt said, taking another.

They had woken up to find the cookies out in the cafeteria and had taken to enjoying them quite thoroughly. Eventually, Sakura, Ryuji, and Arthur joined them and partook in the dessert as well.

“Who made these?” Sakura asked. Everybody shrugged at the question.

Eventually, Flo walked in.

“Hey Flo!” Ryuji shouted. “You should join us!”

“I’m good, thanks.” Flo looked uninterested.

“Are you sure?” Matt asks. “I’d expect you to clear the whole plate.”

“I’m not quite interested in dying, thanks.”

Everyone stopped eating and looked at Flo. She was...smiling.

“F-Flo?” Arthur stammered. “What have you done?”

“I made the cookies.” She said. “With a special ingredient.” She pulled out a bottle of something labeled “Monopoison”.

“Poi-P-Poison?!” Ryuji shivered.

“T-This isn’t funny…” Slezak smiled, hoping this was just a joke. “Come on, drop the act…”

“There is no act. The poison takes about five hours before killing you though there was one dose in each cookie so...I’d expect that the process may be expedited.”

A dizzying feeling grasped the other five when Flo said that--still wearing her twisted smile.

“The m-mastermind…” Slezak stammered. “Like we guessed...it’s you, isn’t it?”

“Correct.” Flo nodded. “I figured we needed one last kick of excitement to get this going, so I hid four doses of the antidote behind Door 5. I’d hurry up if I were you guys.”

“W-Wait!” Ryuji shouted. “W-We need answers!”

“I don’t think now’s the time for that. I wouldn’t start getting too excited either, you don’t want to quicken the rate the poison spreads.”

“W-Why…” Sakura asked, voice tinged with betrayal. “I...I thought all of us were friends. I thought we were done lying to each other...”

“Well, it wasn’t all a lie.” Flo said. “I did care about you guys, and I didn’t lie about who I am either. I’m quite fascinated with sociology so I couldn’t help but run this little game. This last experiment is all part of it too. Humans really are fasc-”

Flo was cut off by a punch to the face. From Sakura. Flo crumbled backwards, falling on the floor.

“YOU KILLED ALL OF US?!” Sakura was furious. She got on top of Flo and began punching her across the face repeatedly. “Karega, Subaru, Cesar, SiRReN…” Sakura choked up without finishing the list, letting her punches fill in the blanks.

“C-Calm down, Sakura!” Slezak insisted.

Sakura shot him a look that could’ve made her the blackened, and Slezak took a step back. “Where’s the antidote?!” Sakura screamed into Flo’s face, readying another punch.

“...good luck on the search.” Flo mumbled.

Sakura’s arm was caught before she could punch Flo again. Arthur was holding it. “I think she’s had enough.” He suggested.

Sakura looked down at Flo and her hands, and then stepped off. “Y-You’re right…”

Arthur nodded. “We can’t waste any time when we’re this close. Even if there are only four doses of the antidote...well, it won’t do us any good to find zero of them.”

“Right.” Ryuji stated in agreement. “Let’s get to it.”

The group headed behind Door 5, wondering where to go first.

“We can’t waste too much time looking for nothing.” Arthur sighed. “We should split up to expedite the search.”

“Smart enough.’ Slezak agreed. “Since we’re looking at movie sets, the antidotes could quite literally be anywhere though...even behind the walls.”

“We’ll have to tear through all of it then.” Sakura was matter of fact about it. Ryuji looked upset at the prospect.

“We need to make an agreement first.” Matt said. “If any of us find a bottle of the antidote...we need to make sure not to use it. Not until meeting up with everyone.”

The group seemed uncomfortable at the suggestion, but nodded. It was more than logical.

“Alright then.” Arthur decided. “I’ll take the medical drama.”

“Egypt is fine with me.” Sakura said.

“Sci-fi, obviously.” Matt grinned, despite the situation.

“I’m good with the Western.” Ryuji said. “That leaves Jay with Fantasy, right?”

“Well…” Jay said. “I would actually really like to have to the sci-fi set.”

Matt slapped his forehead. “Alright, fine. Whatever. You can take sci-fi. Everybody search like your lives...eh, just meet back here in an hour!”

Everyone split off.

The group finished disposing of the mess they made, all feeling weaker and more tired as each minute passed. They stared at four syringes in their hands.

“Each is a dose…” Jay sighed. “How the hell are we supposed to decide…?”

Four of them felt a prick almost immediately. Before they could even react, they saw the syringes tumbling out of Ryuji’s hands.

“Ryuji!” Matt shouted. “You bastard, we were supposed to decide together. Y-You just can’t throw your life away like that!”

“It’s al-alright!” Ryuji stammered, looking anything but alright.

“Mr. Arisato…” Arthur looked grim. “We can’t have much longer at this point.

“I-I know! But just...it’s done, okay? So the best thing we can do right now is search for a fifth bottle!”

“We’ve already looked everywhere though…” Sakura trailed off, sounding uncertain.

“Actually, it’s a bit strange that Monomi told us all to come here, isn’t it?” Jay asked.

“I agree.” Arthur pondered. “Perhaps Monokuma wanted us to find...something here.”

“W-What?!” Monomi popped up. “Big Brother would do something like that?!”

“Well is he the one who said we needed the mess cleaned?!” Sakura yelled.

“Well uh…” Monomi shrunk and disappeared again. “Oh dear…”

“Where’s the trash go to?” Ryuji asked. He began twisting a doorknob that led downstairs, still locked as always.

“I can attempt to pick the lock.” Arthur suggested.

“We don’t have time for that.” Matt said. “Everyone get back.”

Nobody even had time to protest. Matt pulled out some strange glowing ball and threw it at the door. The shockwave sent everyone flying but...it seemed only the door had been vaporized.

“What the hell…” Ryuji rubbed his shoulder.

“Took a few hours...but I’m glad to see it works.” Matt smiled. “Let’s get that fifth bottle.”

The group headed downstairs to the trash dump area.

The first thing they noticed were drops of blood. Then pools on the floor, then large spatters across the wall. Blood was all over the room, and the stench of death was in the air.

Flesh was strewn about. Arms and legs were dismembered and nearby, a decapitated head sat on top of rubbage.

Flo Yates, the Ultimate Sociologist, was dead.

The group was horrified, of course. The grisly sight before them sucked the air out of the room completely. And yet, there was an air of relief, and guilt for feeling that, among everyone as well.

“...it’s over.” Ryuji’s eyes widened. “The game is over…”

“I don’t think so!” Monokuma popped up. “Same formalities as always will...wait, oops.”

He disappeared again. An announcement rang throughout the room.

“A body has been discovered! Please head over to the trash disposal area!”

He showed back up. “I’m soooo excited! I can hardly breathe!”

“W-Why is there a class trial…?” Arthur asked. “You said this would…’

“I didn’t say diddly-squat! Someone here killed, so now we’re having a trial! End of story!” He threw a file into Sakura’s hands and went off.

Sakura trembled, opening the file. “Monokuma File #5: The victim is Flo Yates, the Ultimate Sociologist. Body was found, flab and all, scattered around the trash disposal area. Time of death is around 10-11 AM.”

“...let’s get started then.” Matt said, giving everyone investigation assignments. It’s decided that nobody is to investigate the set they searched, and everyone splits up.

Eventually, everyone heads down to the class trial room. Feelings of fear bloom in their bodies.

Almost every head thought the same thing. “...the mastermind is dead. But we still have one more class trial. We still have...this final trial. That means the one who killed Flo is one of us.

“For the sake of those before us. For our own sake. And for the sake of ending this nightmare once and for all...we have to unearth the killer.”
