I'm not allowed to say if he did it or not, but know I wouldn't purposefully pick the killer for demonstration like that, just to get them off the hook."

"It was a stretch, I admit." Damien agreed. "The key point is that there's a reasonable chance everyone has some form of scar or other signs of damage."

"Another possibility is that the killer never even managed to drink the potion. Giles startled them before they even opened it, and so they dropped it. In that case it would be useful to check for any wounds the killer would have been trying to cure, though I cannot think of what they would be."

The ash begins to form into one. Some of it turns into cat fur. The rest... an arrow. The head is slightly bent out of shape. The arrow then reshapes itself into its original perfect form.
The broken potion reforms. It becomes a healing potion, label and all. A tiny amount refills.
The poison refills and seals itself.
The champagne bottle refills. The cork inserts itself in.
The cake restructures itself into its former glory.
