"Maybe the potion wasn't used at all?" Simon says, "Just because its bottle was empty, that doesn't mean the redness potion was used. Maybe the killer used a different potion, and then poured the redness potion into the original bottle to hide that fact?"

Aria glanced apologetically at Ohishi, before turning to Yuma. "I never said I was convinced of that, only that Mr. Fitzgerald could not see the red - for any reason - so it would not directly relate to his murder. Do you desire to know what happens when people go for a shower that badly?"

"Y'know guys, I'm seeing several possibilities here," Simon mumbles. "One possibility is that some guy set up those messages, but then they got totally finessed by the real killer, and it's completely irrelevant. Another is that the killer set them up to split up the group, and then killed Cain... which is probably the most likely, but doesn't really help us. Another is that Cain did it, and someone found out and bumped him off before he could strike... which is kinda unlikely since he's blind, but I'm just puttin' it on the table. Finally, perhaps the truth is that there was only one message in one shower. Someone placed this single message to split up the other members of their group, leaving behind Cain, who they could easily murder."

Simon shrugs and says, "Those are the only possibilities I can think of. Make of that what you will."
