"Val insists he's alright, but fine. I apologize for that." Oscar shoots Jack an annoyed look. "But I may as well walk you back through what truly transpired last night, see what you all make of it..."

"After the spooky story session was over, I slipped away from the group and quickly grabbed that fiendishly dapper outfit and knife I'd stashed in the bushes earlier. Surprise surprise, those blood stains were really ketchup splotched on for dramatic effect. From there I prowled around until I encountered the first group consisting of Jack, Koichi, and Val, then made my grand entrance by attacking the robot. As in, the only one here I could actually get away with stabbing. I figured I'd chase them around afterwards, but Jack surprised me with a sudden bout of athleticism and knocked me into the bushes. Impressive work, by the way. It'd be a bit too much trouble to keep up the act if I got into a real confrontation, so I made a tactical retreat and began my search for the next group to terrorize." He can't help but chuckle at the memories.

"Which leads me to the showers. Raul and Rinea locked themselves inside as soon as I made my presence known, so I simply banged at the door and taunted them until two thirds of the previous group, those being Koichi and Val, plus Irene arrived. Koichi pointed a gun at me, so naturally I exited stage left and went about planning my next move. Val tried to pursue me, but unfortunately he makes for a very poor hunter. One easy escape later, I was back to lying low. Which was... a bit before the first BDA sounded off."

"...and finally, back to the fire pit and amphitheater. Now this is where I freely admit I dropped the ball. Ahem... I spotted Koichi and Raul milling about the area, and figured I'd pull off my grand finale. Poor, poor timing..." he winces. "...one tasteless speech later, I find out the butler's been found dead. And... really, what way out of the situation was there? None, all I could do was babble like an idiot. Koichi fired, yet Raul came to my rescue and took the bullet for me. At that point I completely gave up on the tuxedo monster act and started crying out for aid. Koichi fled, and I was left to make sure the bullet hadn't killed our captain. He didn't seem all that surprised to know it was me, because what do you know he'd just so happened to find my outfit in a nearby bush. A... very welcome misfortune on my end. Some basic aid, he pulled through, and the two of us heard the second BDA before splitting up for the night."

"...and thank you for not throwing me under the bus immediately. I do appreciate that." He nods to Raul. "Sadly, I can't really talk our way out of the camera footage. But that's the truth of the matter, start to finish. Quite an eventful night, I'm... I'm sure..."

Jack sighed, thinking of another topic. "Yo, James. You made shit up in that story you read us, right? Doubt it's important, but what's the actual ending?"

He thought some more. "And while talking about the camera footage, the only explanation behind it I have is...Raul didn't get shot, but felt the need to temporarily fake his death for some reason."

He decided he had enough brainpower to summon another theory. "As for who could've stolen James' camera, I see 3...no 4, possible suspects. One, Florian stole it while tripping into James. Two, Florian was working with Brian and passed it off to him while he was getting helped up. This one doesn't seem likely to me but is worth considering. Three, Raul took it while helping up James. And finally, James never lost it at all."

With the story I imagine we can at least eliminate some people based on what we know about them, while the camera has more actual evidence. Is there any way to tie the 'someone painted themselves black' theory to a specific person, using the outfit perhaps? Bryan was the owner of the outfit but he was recorded too..."

"Another thing to mention was everyone down in the cave. Oscar didn't mention knocking us out, so... how did we get down there? Her highness and I got knocked out by something cold and metallic, Urumi and Keri fell, V.A.L. got dragged down, Jack got pulled away, and in that video, Rinea's body was dragged, too, and we all ended up in the caves with that monster that had apparently eaten Rinea. Someone was behind all of that, but who?" He wipes his forehead. "And I was knocked out right after seeing the camera, so I'm guessing the person recording everything was the one behind trapping us down there."

"Florian's chest was intact, but we never found the rest of Rinea's body. It's more than reasonable to assume all but her hand was consumed by the wood chipper, and the killer had already taken her heart. Perhaps eating the heart and casting the spell turns you into a homunculus? It'd explain the self-healing." He retorted to Raul.

"And as for your question, I have no idea. Perhaps it's a better idea to consider why the shed was there in the first place, and why this paintman felt the need to retrieve it?"

"So, I suppose we should get this trial back on track." James gave a look at the others before continuing. "I'll tell you all what I know. I would normally not wish to be so cooperative, but in this case I find it imperative we catch this killer and keep them from escaping. I shall start from the beginning. As you all had deduced a while back, I stole that buff buffoon's costume from the hotel and painted it jet black earlier. It was my…filming costume, you could say. It allowed me to slip about in the darkness unseen. But when I got to the shed after slipping away from my group, I had found my camera pilfered and my director's sense lost. By, the way, a small addendum. I had only managed to get back my talent before my camera, not at the same time. It's a minor detail, but I found it necessary to clarify."

James snapped his fingers sharply. "Anyway, I snuck out of the shed, and I visited the cabins to see a group of people talking as they left. My suit of paint worked like a charm, nobody noticed me as I slipped by. After that, I searched the cabin to no avail. My camera wasn't there, so I slipped to the showers to see the confrontation between the corpse- the pillock, in other words- and several others. Once he left, the others discussed their plans with each other. Not keen on following them, I continued my meticulous search of the camera throughout the lakeside, the boathouse and the fire pit. I believe it was during this time my talent returned, though my camera remained unfound."

"After that, I went to the shed- it was a little before midnight, if I remember correctly- only to find the butchered butler there. But I had little time, for the bloodied rebel came in with the noble queen. I had no choice but to hide there as they discovered the body with me, thus triggering the announcement of the corpse. Anyway, the two conducted their own little investigation. When I saw my camera there, I immediately took it. As the two left the shed, I cracked the door open just a smidge and recorded their conversation." He gestured to his camera. "That conversation was what you saw here. After that, I left the shed and went through the forest. But…"

He scratched his head sheepishly. "I'm quite ashamed to say that my memory escapes me during that period of time. It's quite hazy, really. I don't remember a thing there. I arrived at the fire pit after that and witnessed the confrontation during which the rebel got what was coming to him, a bullet to the chest. I recorded the whole thing here, obviously. Anyways, after the confrontation was over I washed the suit of its black stains and left it in the lake. That concludes the detailing of my entire alibi." He bowed.

"Yet…some things are still a mystery to me. The footage of the buffoon getting beaten by the pillock and the footage of the quack's corpse…I remember taking neither." He shook his head. "And I still do not know who took my camera. It's quite the pity, really."
