It is now time for Round 1. The name of the game is Fruit Stand.
Each player will receive three total vouchers.
There will be two "Days" in the game.
Each "Day", you will decide to spend one or more of your total vouchers selling "Apples", "Lemons", or "Kiwis".
The demand for "Apples" is high. $100,000 will be distributed each "Day" to the players who sold "Apples." That said, all money from selling Apples will be distributed in discrete $10,000 increments. This means if five people sell Apples, all five will get $20,000. If six sell Apples, all six would only get $10,000.
The demand for "Lemons" is much lower. $60,000 will be distributed to the players who sell Lemons in the same way.
The demand for "Kiwis" is even lower. There will only be $40,000 distributed to the players that sell Kiwis.
The first Day starts now. Submit how many shares of Apples, Lemons, and/or Kiwis you would like to sell.
Your remaining vouchers will be used on the second Day.
Finally, the player who earns the most cash will be declared the winner of Round 1 and be given $100,000 as a prize.

Suddenly a door clicks open.
The two rooms, the movie theater and the parlor are adjoined by the door. For the first time eight of the players are in the same room.
The smoky parlor has yellowing wallpaper and old furniture. Some fogged windows let in morning light from outside.
The movie theater is dark and contains a loeseat facing a screen. A movie is flickering on the screen from a projector.
There are two locked doors on each side.
[That's right, the eight players may introduce their appearances.]

He was slightly shorter than average, and walked with his posture slumped. He glanced at the others in the room, but not too closely as he didn't seem to care to get know them too much.
Seeing the others stare at him, his face turned from pale to irate, "Seriously, why the fuck do people keep staring at me?!"

He emerged arms spread wide and dark haired head bowed as he strutted to the center of the room. Promptly spun and performed an swift little disco dance along to fanfare, his silver scarf spiralling with his movements.
“Yes! Why thank you Zero! That was very courteous! I am totally and thoroughly thrilled to have triumphed over this trial!” His voice was somehow rough and yet sing-songy as he stopped dancing and flashed a bright grin at the Rich Country denizens.
“And what a pleasure it is to finally meet you all! I’ve been looking forward to this for SO long! Oh I can’t wait to play some more games with you all!” He said taking the time to examine every one of them.

In addition to a nearly-featureless mask, the man was wearing a blue suit, top hat and gloves, all of high quality. Introductions were almost unnecessary but he continued regardless. "I am The Emissary. If you must know, I chose the pseudonym from the title of a movie. Little did I know...! But it's far too late to change things now. I hope we can all get along despite any misgivings you may have."

Another overdressed woman entered the room, her long violet dress flowing behind her. Trails of dark lace hung from the deep purple flower on her extravagant hat. She walked with almost unnatural grace, her every feature seeming sculpted to perfection.
She let the parasol she was holding touch the floor and gently brushed her long golden hair thoughtfully. "That was a bit of an...interesting challenge. Still, I'm glad it's over with so we can all meet at last. Err, most of us, at least!"
"I must say though, you certainly did an impressive job, Mr. Lauder. Coming from a heavy disadvantage, no less!" She turned to the gamer and smiled, though it didn't quite reach her eyes.

"What's strange is that there are far too many people on $40,000 for me to see how Maximillion could have single-handedly won. Even counting one $40,000 player going down to $30,000 due to their day 2 action doesn't leave us a viable distribution. The only explanation I can see is that Maximillion ended up earning $50,000... but that would have required cooperation from multiple allies, as he'd need to put two vouchers in apples while two people actively left the apple pool."

"The telling fact is that both Max and Vivienne were supposed to put one voucher in each fruit on the second day. And yet only Max was declared the winner. Why? At least one of them must have used their vouchers in a different configuration. Additionally, neither of them could be the traitor from the first day. Thus, at least two defectors is obviously given.
"Moreover, we can deduce that Max used at least 2 vouchers on apples on the second day. He must have won with either $50,000 or $60,000. If he won with $40,000, then each other player would have $30,000 or less--but this does not fit with the amount of prize money distributed. Therefore, he has more than $40,000. The maximum payout for any one voucher was $20,000, meaning the maximum total payout is $60,000. Therefore, he has $50,000 or $60,000, meaning he put at least 2 vouchers into apples--contrary to the plan.
"However, if we look at the total number of vouchers used, it appears that one person moved from apples to lemons. Since we know Max moved at least one voucher from another fruit into apples, that means that at least two people moved from apples to lemons.
"Given the number of traitors we've been able to deduce so far, I'm beginning to suspect the poor country as a whole launched a coordinated attack on us. Would you all like to elucidate exactly what happened, or should we start looking at specific scenarios of what could have happened?"
