Cosplay help?

Okay, see me and my friends are going to a little anime convention nearby. No big deal, it's gonna be fun and we've done it before. Thing is, this time we all wanna go and actually cosplay this time and I have NO IDEA what to go as. I have absolutely minimal experience making costumes or clothes, so making something's outta the question. I don't like wearing skirts because I'm very self-concious about my legs and blahblahblah. Can anybody make suggestions for some cheap cosplay ideas that I could probably just get off ebay without winding up absolutely skint for the rest of the summer?

Mm, well alright but I'm not exactly trying to look fabulous. I'm just trying to think of a costume idea that I could pull together cheap, since I'm kinda low on inspiration.

Hmm, older Ema ain't a bad idea at all. I should really ask the parents if it's do-able. It's on their credit (if my three-foot long chores list) after all xP
