Fred climbs onto the stage and shouts to the heavens.

“Let’s split up, gang!”

Everyone rushes off in different directions, intending to get to the bottom of this mystery!

Spoiler: Monster Attack 1

Spoiler: Turn 1

--Tucker Runs to the Left. He sprints into the Maw! He sees Skully beckoning for him, urging him to embark on the most exhilarating ride of his life.
--Velma Sets a Trap! She hides a small loop of rope in one of the Gift Shops. Dario steps inside and is hoisted by his feet into the air!
--Blaze Searches for Clues! He picks up some Evidence in a car of the Ferris Wheel.
--Buffy Runs to the North! He sprints into the Maw! He meets up with Tucker by the entrance to the ride.
--Shaggy Raises Morale! He does a quick stand-up routine, and Blaze is so impressed that his Courage increases by 5! Shaggy’s Courage also increases by 5.
--Scooby throws a Scooby Snack! Moe wants to try the snack and races after it into the Eateries, balancing his goldfish bowl on his head. Scooby giggles to himself and then scurries left to the Ferris Wheel.
--Dario is trapped! He can’t do anything!
--Moe throws a Scooby Snack! Realizing that the box Scooby gave him is expired, he chucks it back to the Stage. Vicky spots it soaring through the air and follows it, not realizing it probably isn’t safe for consumption.
--Gabby Runs to the Left! She joins the crowd gathering under the Ferris Wheel.
--Vicky uses Scooby Dooby Doors! She opens a broom closet behind the Stage and walks inside, exiting through the door to a utility closet in the Power Plant.
--Ed uses Scooby Dooby Doors! He heads into a sushi restaurant in the Eateries section and exits through a mirror in the Funhouse. Uh oh! Now he’s trapped alone with the clowns!
--Deianara does nothing.
--Fred Runs to the South! He sprints down and hops on-stage, tragically becoming the third wheel to Deianira and Lori.
--Daphne uses Scooby Dooby Doors! Noticing Ed disappear, she follows him into the sushi restaurant. She winds up exiting through the passenger door of the Mystery Machine in the Parking Lot. Moe, left all alone, sadly eats some frozen yogurt.
--Elisa uses Scooby Dooby Doors! After hearing about a door Dario discovered in the back of a shop, she heads inside. She exits into a dark, flaming cavern with a coaster track coming through it. She’s reached Skully’s Catacombs. Unfortunately, Skully is disappointed that Elisa skipped the beginning of his ride and curses her. Elisa’s Life Expectancy decreases by 2!
--Lori tries to Be the Bait! However, no monsters notice her. Her sister is not impressed by her shenanigans.
--Psycho Runs to the South! She joins the group hanging out on the Stage.

--Tucker Sets a Trap! While flying through the air, Tucker takes out a rope and ties Buffy to the floor of his seat. The car lands upside-down on the roof, trapping Buffy inside! Tucker lands safely next to him.
--Velma uses Scooby Dooby Doors! She looks Dario dead in the eyes and then walks out through the door he found. She exits through a twisty door into the Funhouse.
--Blaze does nothing.
--Buffy is trapped! He can’t do anything but yell British curses at Tucker.
--Shaggy uses Scooby Dooby Doors! He walks into one of the cars of the Ferris Wheel and exits through the Parking Lot entrance. He sees Daphne by the Mystery Machine and joins her.
--Scooby does nothing.
--Dario Raises Morale! He grabs a ukulele decorated with Skully’s picture from a shelf and begins to play a tune while hanging upside-down. Sadly, no one is around to hear it, but he’s quite proud of the song. His Courage increases by 5.
--Moe uses Scooby Dooby Doors! Tired of being left out, he goes to throw away his yogurt cup. However, he suddenly trips and falls into the trash can. He reappears in the sky over the Parking Lot and falls onto the concrete near the Daphne and Shaggy, ruining their reunion.
--Gabby throws a Scooby Snack! With a hyuk-hyuk, she chucks it onto the Stage. Blaze, pondering what would happen if you set Scooby Snacks on fire, follows after it.
--Vicky Searches for Clues! She finds some evidence beneath a jumble of pipes in the Power Plant.
--Ed does nothing.
--Deianara throws a Scooby Snack! She gracefully tosses it into the air, and it does six mid-air flips before landing on the Go-Kart Track. Lori spots it and follows it there.
--Fred Sets a Trap! He creates an elaborate Rube Goldberg device triggered by the smoke coming from Blaze’s flaming Scooby Snacks. The updraft turns a turbine which tugs a doorstop out from under a light stand which falls over and hits a seesaw to throw a brick in the air where it hits a button on a control pepper which drops Blaze into a pit!
--Daphne does nothing.
--Elisa is hypnotized! She tries to Be the Bait! Unfortunately, she’s already the target of the only Monster attack here, so nothing happens. This is so sad
--Lori uses Scooby Dooby Doors! She walks through a random door in the middle of the Go-Kart Track and exits in the Catacombs! Fortunately, Skully isn’t looking, so she receives no wrath.
--Psycho Searches for Clues! She finds some evidence lying right in the middle of the stage where apparently no one had looked yet!

[You may now RP some of the events of the Split Up phase, if you wish. If you want to respond to a monster attack, let me know. Don’t leave your room though! I have a plan for how to gather everyone up for the Talk it Out phase.]

Lori paraded around the stage, banging on a huge bongo supported by a strap around her neck and shouting, "Oh BOY, I sure am SCARED. It would be a SUPER BUMMER if a MONSTER showed up right now."

Apparently nothing was around to fall for her dizzyingly clever trap.

She blinked at Deianira. "What?"

"Oh, hey, food." She dropped the bongo with a 'clang' and chased after the Scooby Snack.

Lori looked around with raised eyebrows. "Huh. What are the odds that door would lead me here?"

Then she noticed the reporter staring blankly off into space. "Uh. Hey." She waved her hand in front of Elisa's face. "You okay? ... Need some gummy worms?"

'Psycho' was a little slow off the mark. By the time she got moving, she was already alone in the Go-Kart Track. "Er, guys?" she called out, to no avail. Not really wanting to be alone while monsters were prowling, she headed to the stage, figuring there'd be people there.

Upon arrival she was relieved to see people were still up to their usual nonsense. It put her at ease to see Fred setting a needlessly complex trap to snare Blaze, all was right with the world still. While they were busy, she decided to try and actually search for clues. She found some mysterious plans right in the middle of the stage, partially trampled on from all the people who'd milled about without ever noticing the clue right beneath their feet. "Typical," she muttered, snatching it up and giving it a confused once-over.

Deianira stared at her sister, her eyes as cold as ice. She crossed her arms, tapping her foot on the floor before she took a very very deep breath. That was suppose to calm her down, but guess what? Didn't do nothin'. She threw her hands in the air, her face turning in a very cartoony angry snarl. Ed opened a door in the funhouse and ended up at the parking lot. He tried another that led into a walk in freezer. He tried yet another that connected to his own house, where he stopped to preemptively grab spare pants.

It'll take him a while to end up at the stage. Probably as long as it takes for me to be able to post.

Victoria decided to head to the Eateries to investigate with Ed and Daphne.

...She definitely wasn't going there because she was hungry.

...Even if she was, could you blame her? She's a big girl, it's been a long night, and Deianira and Lori ate all the sandwiches from earlier.

Anyway.

Soon after arriving at her destination, she addressed her group. "So where should... we..."

Vickie's train of thought cut short as she caught sight of... something soaring through the air near the Stage. She wasn't quite sure what it was, but somehow just seeing the mysterious object triggered an almost primal desire inside her. The desire to eat whatever the airborne thing was. She could already feel herself starting to salivate...

"Uh, sorry, guys, I, uh, forgot something... back at the stage. Go on without me, kay?"

She excused herself with all the politeness she could muster and, with a light wave, jogged back the way she came.

Once there, she began searching for the treat with a fervor surprising even her. She came upon a broom closet and, somehow, concluded it may have fallen in...

Scooby backs away but feels something under his feet. It squishes with malice.

Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft

A long, loud, low approximation of a fart noise rumbles across the park from a comically large whoopie cushion.

Gabby pinches her nose and makes a face of disgust.

Scooby will never live this moment down. It is utter humiliation of the highest degree to be called stinky by a clown.

Everyone else in the park says a short prayer out of concern for Scooby's health considering that noise should not come from any living creature unless they are extremely sick.

As Tucker landed on the ground next to the car which had Buffy trapped inside, he got up and dusted himself off. "Well, that worked out better than expected!" He beamed. "I'll admit, Buffy, I wasn't expecting this little trap to work so well, but I guess I pulled it off, right?" He chuckled, not making any effort to actually help out the lutenist. Instead, he seemed to be calculating what to do next. Priorities, I guess!

Scooby gives his iconic laugh.

"Rat's good," he says.

He then remembers he's supposed to be scared, and resumes putting as much distance between himself and Gabby.

"Sorry you got all mixed up in that, Frankie... What? That snack looked mighty tasty, alright?" Moe dusts some trash off of himself and sighs.

He then waves at Daphne and Shaggy. "Hey gang-erino! Let's say we park our brains in this lot and see what kinda stuff we can find! Maybe we'll get a half eaten tuna sandwich, if we're lucky!"

EXT. PARKING LOT - NIGHT

Daphne and Shaggy discover a strange computer terminal in the parking lot. Moe is there too.

“Hmm, that’s weird,” Daphne says, “I think I spotted a computer like this back at the food area. Wonder what it’s for?”

The group takes a closer look. The computer is black and white with a screen overflowing with lines of code. Several elaborate helmets are connected to the terminal by wires, and hard metal chairs surround it. Yellow tapes reading “UNDER CONSTRUCTION” cover the machine.

“Let us find out!” Moe proclaims, sitting down and trying on a helmet.

“Like, are you sure that’s safe, man?” Shaggy asked, “Maybe it’s gonna upload your brain to its database!”

“Oh, come on, I’m sure it’s safe,” Daphne says, sitting down. “Let’s at least let Moe give it a shot.”

After an awkward wait, Moe rips off the helmet and lets out a whoop.

“Whoa, mama! It’s crazy in there, but not scary! Check it out! Check it out!”

Moe puts the helmet back on. With some hesitation, Daphne and Shaggy put on helmets of their own.

EXT. SPOOKY GRAVEYARD - NIGHT

After putting on the helmets, Daphne, Shaggy, and Moe found themselves standing in a moonlight-speckled graveyard surrounded by a dark forest. A bunch of the others were already here. Apparently there were terminals in all of the park’s areas, and they decided to check them out as well.

The graveyard is arranged in concentric circles radiating out from a mausoleum in the center of the clearing. The group can hear ravens cawing in the distance and the wind whistling through the trees. But every once in a while one of the gravestones or trees will glitch our, ruining the illusion.

“Wowie, guest’s already?” A shrill voice shouts, “Welcome to Skully’s Secret Scaregrounds!”

The mausoleum doors swing open and a big-headed skeleton in a beret strolls out. It’s Skully, the park’s famous mascot! He seems to be in a good mood, tearing off his arm to use as a baton for a quick dance routine.

“Anyway, this is an experimental VR thingamajig the park’s been setting up. It hasn’t officially been released yet though, cause we’re still working out a few kinks!”

As he says this, Skully’s entire body glitches out, randomly rearranging itself and turning bright pink. He lets out a blood-curdling shriek, seemingly in serious pain, before returning to normal.

“So yeah, you skinsacs shouldn’t be here, but considering the outside’s turned into a Harlem Shake Macabre, I can’t really blame ya!” Skully explains, “Not to mention I was getting a little bone-ly here, so why don’t you all stick around! This could even be a good way for you all to meet up!”

By some grand contrivance, the entire cast suddenly arrived in Skully’s Secret Scaregrounds.

Gabby being in the simulation is such an awful coincidence for the others, in a way that says, "God is real and he is deeply malevolent."

Gabby does a lot of unfunny gags involving the distortion of reality, such as taking off her head and arms and then juggling those with her feet.

Gabby's eldritch tricks scared the impact font out of Ed with a high-pitched scream of terror.

"I found a clue, or at least, I thought I did. It was a bust," she revealed. "Plans for some kind of monster suit, to be worn by someone tall, but the monster wasn't any of the ones attacking us here. Probably just some... weird mascot idea, or something." She shrugged.

She then sidled up to Ed, hoping Gabby couldn't overhear her. "I think there's a Trap Door out of that funhouse. I can get you away from those ~~terrifying abominations of nature~~ clowns. How about it?"

Elisa is pale even in VR and staring in horror at the clown. Maybe that's the monster that took out two years of her life expectancy.

She carefully tip toes over to the rest and says, "I'm planning to move to the east and then... uhh... how do I explain this... talking to some people to... err... y'know, raise their courage? Also there's monsters in my room, so do with that what you will. Also also also, I know the locations of a few trap doors because of... Well I just do, so hit me up if you need help, I guess?"

"Eyyyy, now that sounds like a plan." Ed quickly agreed with the plan to get him away from this place that God dares no tread in. "It'd be nice to end up somewhere with lots of people. I'm thinking a good meme could really raise the spirits!"

Moe clutched his chest. “Oh, woe is me! I am a fool, for I attempted to lure someone with that elusive snack, and yet, I myself was taken for a spin!” Moe frowns.

“I’ll... probably do something!” He says. “Probably right where I am.”

“Oh, I have something I want to propose!” Moe continues. “Some of us were attacked by those horrible monsters, were we not? Perhaps we could examine where we all were at those times, and perhaps determine who could’ve possibly attacked us?” Moe asks nobody in particular. He wonders if those monster effects might work from a tile away, and that those a tile away from people who were attacked might be possible suspects, but Moe isn’t smart enough to really express this properly because the map is more of a game mechanic anyways.

A rusty-hinged door shrilly creaked open above the group. Dario stepped through and immediately began falling, grabbing the handle in a panic.

"Whoooooaaaa! Jeez, gotta find a better way in here next time!" he shouted to himself. After a few seconds, he lost hold of the handle and plummeted several stories to the ground, hitting the dirt with a loud thump. Finding himself unhurt, Dario stood up and dusted himself off.

He listened to what everyone was saying, taking it in. He got a bit distracted by the clown, but believed he managed to glean everything he could.

"Is it just me, or do all of you also know what everyone else did over the past half hour?" Dario asked, his player not knowing how else to explain the montage scenes. "I saw that three people gathered evidence:

Blaze, at the Ferris Wheel, who claims he found nothing important,
Psycho, at the Stage, who claims she found plans for a monster suit built for a tall person, but not for one of the monsters that attacked us, and
Vickie, in the Power Plant, who hasn't spoken up yet."

He turned and addressed Psycho, "I know you say it's unhelpful, but did the plans describe what kind of monster it was? Any specific details might elucidate the meaning of future clues. For example, it's possible the design of the monster was changed last-minute."
