After he got back up, he began to speak, "Yeah, I kidnapped and tortured Clive so what? Everyone's going to vote for me anyway. Griffin, you've recorded me, huh? How do we know you're going to make out of here alive? And once we're out of here, how do we know you will even be able to accuse me and don't worry even if I am arrested, I can just come back in a couple of years anyway or another Steel can take over. That's the thing about you plebs, you're all too stupid to realise that there's never been a choice. The Steels are the rulers and you're all just our subjects. I do admit that by your standards I am a terrible person but if I had tried to become an honest politician I would've just been laughed at and my career would've gone nowhere. Believe me, some people have really tried but let's just say that things didn't turn out well for them.
Now as to why I did all of this, it's all quite simple. As you all know little old Clive had found out some bad things about my old man and that simply wasn't going to go unpunished. However, even though some of you may think this, I wasn't dumb enough to do this purely for revenge. There had to be something in it for me. That's when I realised I could obtain some information about my opponents from that detective. Now, it wasn't necessary as I was going to win anyway but it was good to have. Just in case, you know. After that everything went as my partner said but he did make one mistake. I have gotten some information out of Clive. It's not as much as I would like but it's still usable.
Surprisingly but probably to your detriment, I'm actually kind of happy. I've never had a chance to express my true self like this before and luckily you can't kill me anyway as I didn't lie about Rover being a sacrifice. Yes, I would've preferred it if that imbecile had kept his mouth shut but you win some you lose some. I guess now that cat is out of the bag, I can help you guys. I'm not sure but Preston might've found the blue rope and is trying to escape."

Zarmilla gets to Val's room first. Like Axel said, when Zarmilla starts to turn the wheel, the telltale noise of the mechanical door can be heard throughout the noise throughout the ship.
The others dash to the "LOCK" room that Zakuro and Rover himself had tried to break into earlier.
Inside, the room is lit by a deep crimson light. It casts shadows on everyone's faces. There, bound tightly to a chair using with thick black ropes, is the limp figure of a man covered in gut-turning bubbling chemical burns. A few feet away is a jug of acid.
This must be Clive Linwood.
