Then, she glances back to Uwem after he mentions her name and the medic rolls her eyes. "Don't think the old days involved a fucking murder game, doctor..."

"Well, I guess this is out of my hands in any case, huh?" Monk cracked a smile. He didn't seem to mind the fact that his decisions had already been made for him. "I'm glad our X-tra player decided to grace our group with her presence, at least", he cackled, still finding the joke funny. "So I guess if that cat allows it, the other two are gonna be you funny birds!" He looked at the general and Taikong. "Nice, isn't it? Though I wouldn't mind being with the woman either", he gestured to Zhang. "Either way, with four of us in here, I'm feeling pretty confident right now! Let's see what we can find in there, yeah?" He tipped his hat coolly.

Sun Taikong looked forlorn about having to separate from Mei, but he quickly put on a determined expression when General Mao said his name. "I'll do my best, sir!" he said, saluting. "It might be useful to split us up though, if it means we have military presence in more of the rooms. Did you have a specific reason for considering the Rooster room, sir?"

Having made their decisions, the group split up and spread throughout the facility.

Horse: Mei, Amethyst, Amandi
Rooster: Fujisaki, Suyin, Juanli

Monk’s group didn’t have to travel far. The small tent was right there in the corner of the grand hall, standing out quite a bit against the regal scenery. Monk scanned his bracelet by the tent flaps, unlocking them (don’t think about it).

Behind it was a Meridian Gate. The group stepped through one at a time and then checked their bracelets. Their points were down to [4].

They took their first look at the tent. A large table in the center was covered in maps and sketches of enemy territory…

Mei’s group entered one of the adjacent hallways and quickly found the door marked with [马]. Mei scanned her bracelet, causing the doors to swing open. The group saw a large, clinical room with hospital beds packed in every corner.

As the group stepped through the Meridian Gate, their points decreased as well…

Fujisaki’s group had their progress blocked by the Meridian Gate they’d already stepped through. They cautiously entered and checked their bracelets. They’d gone down to 4, as expected.

They rushed back to the Dungeon, which was still in the horrendous state they’d left it in. Fujisaki sprinted down the hallway to the [鸡] door and scanned his bracelet. The doors swung open, revealing a pristine tiled room. Fortunately, there was no Meridian Gate. The group continued inside…

Everyone meets up outside of the Horse door.

“What happened?” Taikong asks. “Why are we all meeting up over here?”

“And why is Suyin completely drenched...” Mei mumbles.

“Let’s start by going over everything that happened in the rooms and what we found,” Amandi says, “I believe there is a lot to discuss. It seems that the Gifting Phase Will begin soon afterwards as well…”

“You’d better make it quick though,” Sunny says, “The weird timer in here just hit the 3-hour mark!”

[The Clinic group may freely pass through the Meridian Gate in their room. However, the others should remain outside. Phase change will likely occur tomorrow.]

Mei rubs her eyes pretty hard, probably to stay awake or similiar. She takes a good look at the other participants as she leans on a wall, before deciding that she'd probably have to talk first. "Amethyst's in the clinic room because she was shot by a fucking key. She should be waking up by now. We found some files on some stupid 'morphogenetic field theory' or whatever it's called. There was also a record of injured patients from the Stadium explosion. That should be about it..."

The medic eyes Suyin warily as she scratches her right forearm idly.

Monk gave Suyin a confused look, before clearing his throat. "Er, right, our rooms. In the tent was this sort of war room. We did some investigation in there and found some stuff. Mao's journal was in there with the most recent entry describing some bombing and evacuation. There was some scientific journal there by some... Albert Blaketon, was it? I wasn't able to entirely understand it but apparently he managed to figure out how to read the human brain as data. I'm sure the young lad will be able to tell you more", he gestured to Sun.

"Otherwise, there was an American newspaper which had an article about the war, claiming that the Chinese were losing ground and that we'd clench it within the year. Hard to believe, obviously", he laughed. "At the end of the room, we found three things. The first was this flash drive, clearly meant for some computer. Most likely the one in Amethyst's cell earlier. The second was the stage plans for the Bird's Nest Stadium from four years ago. Think Mao mentioned his stage was swapped so he could see his wife or something, whatever."

"The important part is we discovered a red envelope, though!" He smiled. "So there's some progress, at least. That's about it... I think. How about the rest of ya?"

"Nevermind all that!" Zhang shouted supporting her sister over to Mao where she let him take over. "HE just doused my sister in boiling water." she cried pointing an accusing finger at Fujisaki.

"We were presented with a choice, he'd have to push buttons to douse boiling water in one of three stalls. Two of them held Suyin and me, the third was empty, yet he chose to scald Suyin!" she turned to look at her sister and Mei and uttered "Please, make sure she's alright."

She turned back to face Fujisaki brandishing a large sledgehammer "Why if I hadn't broken both of us out then she might have died in there! Why! Why did you push Suyin's button instead of the empty stall?"

"You found information about the Field too, Mei?" Sun Taikong said in surprise, before nodding at Monk's request. "Our book talked about some mad theory for turning people's minds into data and uploading them into artificial bodies, homunculi. It also covered the 'Morphogenetic Field' more generally," he explained, before giving a detailed explanation for anyone who needed a crash course on basic Morphogenetic Field theory. "Mad, I tell you, but that's twice it's come up, so it wouldn't surprise me if the third room contained something on it too."

He shrugged, before going into detail about a few of the things they'd found. "The newspaper Monk mentioned talked about how the American ambassador, Benedict Clarkson, was a 'martyr' who'd been corrupted by us and then disposed of. I suppose the bias is unsurprising, but still kinda sad. As for the stadium plans, Monk kept hold of them. Who knows when a map could come in useful! Though the plans are outdated now, so I'm not sure what they'd be good for exactly."

He considered what else he could add, but then Juanli spoke up, and he looked over to Fujisaki with a shocked expression.

She turned back to face Fujisaki brandishing a large sledgehammer "Why if I hadn't broken both of us out then she might have died in there! Why! Why did you push Suyin's button instead of the empty stall?"

"...Thank you, Juanli." She said, before turning her attention to Mei.

Mao suppressed every initial instinct to tear Fujisaki apart with his hands, instead trying to examine Suyin’s burns as well as he could manage. He whispered words of comfort in her ear, trying to manage things without getting in Mei’s way.

“Tell me what I need to do.” He desperately asked the medic. The rooster’s demise would have to wait.

Mei's glance flickers from Suyin to the clinic, then back to Suyin. After a short pause, she says, "I- I'll be back in a moment. I'll check the clinic for anything to help with that." As Mao approaches the two, she shakes her head. "I need... some things first. Don't touch the burns."

She sets off immediately after, skipping into the clinic.

Sun Taikong was yet to be convinced. It looked like he wanted to jump to Fujisaki's defence, yet was also very worried that the man might really have just done something awful.

"What Mei said is true of our room. It was a clinic, one that Mei recognizes as the place where she have to performs operations." Dr. Uwem explains. "And it is true that Amethyst was shot by a key... I still find it hard to believe one would get injured by a key..."

The doctor produces the key from one of his lab coat pockets. It was a large, iron key. Its head is decorated with the character of the Monkey. It seems like the key got some blood on it from having been stuck inside Amethyst's leg.

"And the list of the bombing victims... One of them was a Zhang Juanil, and it's obivous what injuries she sustained in the incident..." He said as he glances over at Zhang. "However... There was a name that was circled for some reason... Li An. I don't know who that is. So, maybe one of you might know who Li An is."
