"Is that how you really feel?" Agnes asked, though did not wait for an answer. "I wouldn't... I..."

Agnes turned her back to Ingrid and faced the fire again. "...Would it not be possible for someone to re-apply the tape? I know what I saw when I met with him... I would say he was never in his room, but Mother said she was with him... Or maybe..."

Agnes seemed like she had more to say, but instead went silent and just hugged her knees, hanging her head and sitting quietly.

"It can't be replaced. Here, see?" Ingrid answered, taking a roll of tape out of her pocket and pulling a strip to show Agnes. Every strip has her signature on it. Ingrid gently used this absurd tool to crush her niece's hopes. "This is one of a kind. No one else can recreate it. If the tape is unbroken, the entryway hasn't opened ever since it was set."

"Simply unthinkable... Lying, that is. I would never do such a thing, and neither would Agnes." Edna looked at her daughter with appreciation in her eyes. "As I said earlier, I would not be surprised if there was an alternate way out of the room that Gideon figured out somehow. In any case, if your tapes tell the truth, then he had to make it into that guest room which was already taped closed. I'm sure both mysteries have a similar solution here."

She seemed to have calmed down since Ingrid's initial accusation and had gone to stand by her daughter's side, staring straight at Ingrid.

"What trick, Edna?" she stared back. "I covered everything. The door, the windows, there was no way in or out of those rooms. I want to believe the two of you, really, but I can't imagine any way Gideon was ever in that bedroom with you..."

"Who knows...? It was Gideon's room, after all. I'm sure he had some method of getting out of there than through the door or windows." Edna laughed airily to hide the vagueness of her reply. "Agnes, you're the only other mystery expert here", she addressed her daughter. "Do you have any ideas, perhaps?"

"And who else can confirm this? Is it just you, Aunt Ingrid? Are you the only one who knew of this tape on that night? Are you the only living soul here right now who can confirm this? Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you also not the only living soul here today that can even place said tape?"

"Yes." Ingrid answered. "That's exactly right. I'm the only contradiction here. Not just for Gideon's murder, but also... Mia's. I'm the only one guaranteeing all these doors were closed."

"Isn't this all just the same as the murders that have happened this past day?" Verrier spoke up. "Why does Gideon's murder warrant all this arguing when the others have all proved similarly impossible?"

"If I hear one more word about tape I'm going to shove a wad of it up my ears," Fritz said, grasping his forehead. "How about we discuss the fact that the Raphael disappeared and might have been murdered too? Am I the only one who's concerned about that?"

Not much useful was found in the luggage besides some clothes. However, a note could be found in one of his pants pockets.

Spoiler: Raphael's Note
1) Edna - Gideon's wife. The hot one
2) Harley - Gideon's brother, usually has a beard. Mechanic
3) Ingrid - Gideon's sister, brown hair. Probably long
4) Fritz - The Fritz von Brandauer
5) Cici Monet - The Cici Monet

[Note continues with descriptions of everyone else besides Raphael, including some other servants and Harley's family]

"Hmm? What could this note mean?" Fritz asked, "It's like he was trying to remember who everyone was...Actually, can anyone prove that Raphael was Raphael, rather than someone else wearing his mask?"

Lynde shook his head slowly, and then looked around in shock as a sudden and inevitable thought dawned on him.

"I didn't see him holding his doll in the foyer trying to decide if this time he would look at what was under the mask like he normally does!" Lynde said, clearly finding this suspicious.

"Oh my..." Edna's face went red at Raphael's description of herself. "Indeed, t-this is quite particular... I can't imagine the Raphael we met here is a different person entirely though... Did nobody truly recognise him or..?"

"Frankly, as the schedule of this trip has borne out, I haven't had the time to talk to him," Meta seems to calm herself with her own speaking, not wanting to get too worked up over Raphael possibly being a different person.

She pushes up her drooping glasses, "I will say that the note sounds farcical to me. It's possible that Raphael would do such a thing not as a joke, but more to see if we would doubt him or recognize him. Of course, I hope I don't sound too presumptuous, but I consider myself to be thinking optimistically, as the alternative is rather grim."

"I suppose that's the mind of a TV producer... It's not the conclusion I'd have reached just from this note alone," Verrier commented.

She paused for a moment, breathing shakily. It was something she'd been holding in for a long time. "... I know I sound insane, but I couldn't shake the feeling something was wrong. I had to be sure. I even looked into an empty guest room, and taped the door to that too... The room we found the corpse in. The tape was intact when we opened it too."

"The only ones that were broken in the morning were Heinrich's and Friedrich's."

Ingrid's findings seemed to somewhat surprise Heinrich, making him stop for a moment before finally speaking up, "Sorry for never mentioning this until now but that door isn't the only entrance to the guestroom. There's a little trapdoor which leads to a bunker. Granted, you can only access it by going through the guestroom which should have triggered the tape. However, to get around that, I have a little theory. The killer entered the guestroom and hid in the bunker waiting for Gideon. Once Gideon came in, he or she killed him and went back underground. If this all happened before the door was taped there wouldn't be any problem, right Ingrid? Now there's still a big issue, to my knowledge, I'm the only one who knows about that room but I guess anyone could've stumbled upon it. "

"A bunker... hmm. This seems to make sense. Gideon was always one for his secrets. Perhaps there's a secret tunnel in his room leading in there as well", Edna speculated. "In any case, things do seem to be coming together at least..."

"I'm not so sure about that," Heinrich responded slightly coughing,"That bunker's been there since before Gideon's time and I don't remember telling him about it. Though once again, he could've easily found it. The last time I checked, the guest room was still the only entrance and there wasn't any secret tunnel but if Gideon had located that room, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to imagine him building some sort of passage and it has been a while since I've been there," Heinrich chuckled a little.

"It sounds like we should check it out," Verrier suggested, though it didn't seem like he really wanted to leave the comfortable fireside chair. "No point in speculating without all the details at hand."

Agnes nodded, agreeing with Verrier. "We should all go together, of course. With the storm splitting up to find Raphael seems to be a big mistake..."

"Perhaps this bunker has more secrets inside?"

"There is a bunker." Ingrid repeated. "There is a secret bunker under the room." she repeated. Again.

Taking some deep breaths, she pulled a chair for herself and took a seat on it. "... Two years. Two years! Pulling my hair out over this! And now you're telling me there was a secret bunker all along you never saw fit to tell anyone!? Right under the mangled corpse of my brother?!"

"We need to see it. I need to see it." as quickly as she sat down, she was already up and heading for the door. "Two years! Never found the time?!"

"He should have followed your lead," Verrier agreed. "You made sure to immediately tell us about the tape you used, after all."

Despite suggesting the idea, he made no move to get up and follow after Ingrid. The lure of the fireplace was too strong.

"Go to hell." Ingrid intelligently answered. "No, actually, get up from there! We're not splitting up anymore, we're all going to the bunker!"

The existence of a bunker didn’t seem believable. Gideon had never utilized a twist secret passage in any of his stories, but this was real life. It was impossible to immediately dismiss. How Heinrich knew about this bunker would certainly be worth asking later.

8:00 AM

[Snowymood]

After bundling up appropriately, the group headed outside. Visibility was extremely poor because of the blizzard, but the group did their best to try and remain close with each other.

They were so close. And as long as they remained together, there would not be another murder.

BANG

A thunderous crack split the air. The group looked expectantly towards those with guns, but the sound was too far for it to have been them who fired.

BANG, BANG

“AAAAAAAaaaggh!” Christof screamed, collapsing to the ground.

[Scene Music]

They were being fired upon. Some immediately dove to the ground, while others ran off. Christof fired blindly towards where the shots were coming from, but the visibility was too unclear.

The newspaper, and now these gunshots… somebody was not content with them staying in groups. So no matter what, they would do whatever possible to be able to pick them off one by one.

“Everybody get to the guest house!” The Detektiv shouted. Rather than firing blindly, he charged headfirst towards the source.

BANG, BANG

It was the worst possible situation. Without the guide poles Harley had set up, it would be extremely easy to get lost. Forget getting killed in a locked room, freezing to death was a strong possibility.

8:45 AM

Everybody had been split up for far too long. But one by one, they each ended up back at their intended destination, the guest house. After Jolina had arrived there, she began firing her rifle in the air at timed intervals to get people following the right way back.

Christof seemed immensely frustrated that he was not able to find their attacker, or even proof of their existence. The wound on his arm was thankfully superficial, but still a hindrance. But none of that was even close to their biggest concern--somebody was still missing.

“Please keep firing, Jolina.” Edna insisted. “I’m sure Lynde will find us.”

Jolina continued to fire. But the more she did, the more anxiety grew in everybody. It did not seem that Lynde would return anytime soon...

"We can't go out looking for anyone in this weather..." Verrier said, scanning the snowstorm in vain for any signs of movements. "There's a chance he found his way back to the main house instead," he added, though he knew well enough that it was a stretch.

A few audible clicks from the gun indicate that Jolina's rifle has spent its ammunition. "Other than Lynde being safe, best case scenario is that my little show has been scaring him off instead of bringing him here." She struggles to reload the rifle with a few spare bullets kept in her pocket.

"Damn!" Jolina hisses out as a bullet falls into the snow.

Deciding it would be unproductive to wait further, the group headed to the vacant guest room. Erik's body was covered by a sheet, but its presence still made everyone uncomfortable.

"Right, right." Heinrich muttered, forgetting exactly where the entrance had been. Apparently the bookshelf that Fritz had knocked over was right on top of it. It was extremely heavy so Verrier, Fritz, Ingrid, and Juna collectively lifted and stood it back up.

Heinrich adjusted the light bulb in a wall lamp, and then pulled the wall lamp downwards. A click could be heard from the floor, and then a doorway flap opened upwards.

Everyone looked at each other expectantly. Looking down, they could see a ladder that led to a set of stairs. How deep did this go?

“Well, no use waiting around here,” Fritz said, “Maybe now we’ll finally get some answers.”

Fritz entered the hatch and began climbing down, quite ready to get out of the guest room.

The staircase continued to descend downwards, until the group was face to face with a large metal door. Per Heinrich's description, they should expect the bunker to be normal. Rectangular, stocked with food and books, had a bathroom, and lighting. The only exit was where they had just entered from. There was nothing to fear on the other side of this door.

... but in the world of mystery, another act of heresy was about to be committed. Slowly, they opened the door.

Behind the door, sitting against the wall, was a pair of beady, lifeless eyes staring directly at those who began to wander inside. They almost seemed to glow amongst the slight darkness. His skin was pale as the moon -- it was almost as if he were a real ghost.

"...Fooound me," the man said in a hushed voice.

He didn't wait for a reaction. He got up, dusted himself off and put on a pair of gloves that lay beside him.

"I was waiting to be caught, but I wonder if we could have met under better circumstances," he said in a slight whisper. "...Let's spend some time acquainting ourselves, shall we? My name is Angelo Welcker. I've been waiting for you..!"

"... There was no way out of the room Erik was found in." Ingrid said, instead of introducing herself or asking who on earth this man was. "Nowhere to go except the bunker. Once in there, the killer could wait until the body was discovered and the scene abandoned. But then Friedrich blocked the exit with the bookshelf."

"... But then who was shooting at us? And Mia... Ugh, if Raphael is still alive..." she kept muttering to herself.

Verrier started at the discovery, taking a step back. "Who are you?" he yelled sensibly, unlike Ingrid. "And I don't mean your name. I'm warning you: we're armed, and outnumber you many to one!"

Angelo shook his head at Verrier.

"No, no, that's no good," Angelo said, pointing at Ingrid. "That's the right idea. See..? She's still in the process of solving a mystery...she's doing wonderfully, right now. In moments like this, it's not good to be fazed. Doesn't make things interesting."

He returned his attention back to Verrier. "...But to answer your question..? Mmm...a-ah, I'm not deadly, if that's what you mean! You can put away any kind of weapons you have. Trust me, I'm not a suspicious person at all. In fact, you could call me...a guest? And you wouldn't hurt a guest, would you?"

Angelo hushed Verrier, walking up and covering his mouth with his hand.

"Intruder? Wrong, wrong, wrong. You have the wrong idea. Gideon is the one who wanted me here in the first place. The man of the hour, right? Isn't that we're all gathered here? For the showwwwman."

He released Verrier, before letting out a really cool display of jazz hands. "You know the guy, right? Gideon? I didn't warp into a new century?"

Angelo paced around the room, not really waiting for a response.

"If you really need more proof, then, uh....Mmmm...what about that broad? Julia? Go and fetch her. We can discuss things over a small snack."

Evidently, Angelo wasn't caught up with everything...
