When playing through PW, I like trying out all the different answers to questions, some of them are funny. :D
A criticism though, is that PW1 and 2 are too linear in the choices, I mean, whatever one you choose, you're lead down the "right" path anyway. But in case 2 of PW1 I tried this one and was briefly shocked:

Spoiler:
When you're asked if you want to "defend Maya" say no, and you get a mock "Game Over" screen for a bit.. Phoenix says
"It was a few days later when I found out how the story ended.
The verdict was in the newspaper. Guilty!
I'll probably never see her again. Did I make the right choice? Will I ever know?
Mia - if you can hear me.. please tell me!"

I really thought of the dark 2-4 ending when watching that.
But then.. No! I can't let that happen!" so it's not really Game Over.

I would like to have seen what happened (for real) if you DIDN'T actually defend Maya, maybe Mia would come and scold you/persuade you to change your mind or something. Maybe this is something GS5 could have, where the different responses really do lead you down different paths.

I do try them out sometimes but largely because in the trials between Miles and Phoenix it leads to some bloody funny lines (usually at Phoenix's expense) from either Miles or the Judge.

I seem to remember one that was somewhere along the lines of "do you have anything to say to that Prosecutor?" "I was too stunned to think of anything".

Yeah, I've played each case at least four times trying to choose different responses each time.

And that quote you put in, Grim_tales, I remember thinking that it was actually game over, too.

I chose in that one part with Grossbergs painting that he was "Red Whites lover" the second time I played.:hotti:

I found that one pretty funny

When I try out different responses, I just try one and switch my game off after that, then try another one.
I agree with you Vony, I really did think that part in 1-2 was actually game over :(
The part when you say Grossberg is "Redd White's lover" is hilarious :D

I like presenting things/profiles to people to see their reaction.

The best is when you present Matt Engarde's profile to
Spoiler: Seriously, who hasn't finished 2-4?
Edgeworth right when he comes back in the criminal affairs department. He's like "What's so refreshing about a spring breeze?" and Nick is like "LOLZ EDGEWORTH HAS ALLERGIES"

I think one of the best was accidently making the Judge think you wanted to hire DeKiller to assassinate him in 2-4 heh... still makes me laugh...

I've tried out all the different responses. It's one of the things that makes this series so special. I mean, in the first game, when the Judge tests you, there are some really hilarious results.

"The defendant.. is me, Your Honor?" And I couldn't help but laugh when I saw "Cinder Block" as one of the choices.

This is probably my favorite wrong response though:
"Mr. Wellington loves large bananas!"

Actually, that whole case had a bunch of ridiculous funny responses. Another that comes to mind if when you present the last piece of evidence but you choose the wrong side.

I think that's part of the fun of this series; a good amount of effort is put into making the wrong answers funny that it almost makes you want to see them. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done playthroughs just to pick the wrong answers and see what happens.

On the current playthrough I'm doing right now I'm trying out all the different selections. When the screen appears to choose one that's where I'd save.

It's not just those selections though. Presenting the wrong evidence is very funny too. (Not during cross-examinations, but when you're obliged to present evidence). A good use of that is at the very end of Case 2-4.

Spoiler: After the credits
During the scene with Fransizka and Edgeworth, if you did not give the whip to Edgeworth beforehand you get a pretty amusing line.

Edgeworth: (Argh... Wright... You were supposed to give me the whip!)

Supposedly in the Japanese version, YOU CAN PROVE THE GROSSBURG AND WHITE ARE GAY LOVERS XD

But some other ones include....

Nick: The victim? That's Mia Fey, your honor.
Mia: Phoenix, I'M MIA FEY!
Nick: Oh. Right.
Phoenix is totally Jewish.

I like the bit in Case 1-2 where the options are something like:

1) You're a sham, Edgeworth!
2) This court's a sham!
3) I'm a sham!

:D

I also tried out different responses to the judges questions in 1-1, just to see what would happen.

Phoenx: The defendant.. uh.. is me, right?
Mia: You're Larry's lawyer.
Phoenix: Oh, right.

In 1-4
Spoiler:
at the end, you're supposed to give Maya the DL-6 bullet. If you give something else she says its OK and you don't have to cheer her up

Spoiler: 3-2 near end spoilers
You have to prove what Luke Atmey's real identity was for him to be blackmailed by Kane, and the choices are as follows:

:phoenix: Kane Bullard was going to expose Luke Atmey's real identity as...

!) an Ace Detective.
2) Mask*DeMasque.
3) a blackmailer.

Obviously I chose the last option. If someone could go back and see what those other choices were...

I also like Case 1-3's part where you had to tell everyone what the meaning of Cody not taking a picture was.

:phoenix: Obviously, the two killed each other at the same time. There was no victim. It was a draw!

Does anyone not screw around with alternate choices on replay? Really. XD

I personally really appreciated the linearity in really fraught cases like 2-4, when a "wrong" choice would just kick me back to the dialogue selection or the normal track of progression - it was nice to know I could screw around without being destroyed for it. And a lot of the time it really does bring up better dialogue!

I think one of my favorites so far is in 1-3...

Spoiler:
Selecting "No further questions, Vasquez!" leads to this:

*deskslam*

Phoenix: ...

Judge: Yes, Mr. Wright? What is it?

Phoenix: I was hoping to come up with a question while I was pounding on my desk, Your Honor. I didn't.

Such a perfect mirror to Edgeworth's line XD

I think my favorite "wrong answer" discovery is still choosing to not object when everything seems hopeless at the end of 1-4. The scene is actually more powerful and appropriate if you do that, I think.

Sometimes I do like trying out the responses-however, most of the time, I usually just go with the right one, because of my obsession with getting it right. But it is super hilarious on some of the answers-but I just usually look up the different answers to the different choices on the script. That way, I can laugh without losing some life/an exclimation point.

In 1-3, it seems more dramatic to me if you say "No further questions" at the end of Dee Vasquez's testimony.

I don't know, I think it ties with "Wasn't she poisoned by, er... poison?"

One of my favourite responses isn't really 'wrong'- it's when you present the Fey mansion map to Grey and he goes off on one about having "A MANSION, DO YOU HEAR ME? A MANSION!" (Oh Grey you spaz <3)

Like Super Muffin, I have trouble doing it all the time because I'm obsessed with getting things right. I still haven't looked at the bad ending to 2-4 this way and I tend to obsessively save at moments I'm sure I'm going to fuck up.

The Redd-Grossberg lover thing was the first thing I pressed because it was too funny /not to/.
