Seems like 9 times out of 10, people say that JFA has the worst music out of the series. Well, I think that's a little harsh. In fact, JFA has some of the best tracks in the series (Search ~ In the Midst and Core 2002, Shelly de Killer's theme, Objection 2002, which I think is BETTER than AA's and T&T's Objections).

Pursuit ~ Cornered 2002 is pretty damn catchy, yet it receives so much hate. :sadshoe:

I agree with you a lot of people found JFA's music bad but I thought it was pretty catchy I personally liked the courtroom theme the most and the defendant lobby's music can't remember their names.

I don't necessarily think it's bad. It's just that most people consider AA1 and AA3 music to outshine. JFA was the first game in the AA series that I got and I really did like the music, but after getting AA1 I found that that game's music was far better.

But of course, JFA does have a lot of great tracks. I think JFA's Announce the Truth is better, its Turnabout Sisters theme is my favorite version, and there were plenty of good new tunes for the new characters. Hotline of Fate and Eccentric are a couple of my favorites from JFA.

Hotline of Fate, anyone?

I agree with you, particularly on "Search ~In the midst and Core 2002", and Shelly's theme being the stand-outs. Also, Objection 2002 is easily the best objection theme. Pursuit Cornered ~ 2002 is also excellent, and I wasn't aware anyone hated that track. A shame, really. :sadshoe:

Yes, the game has excellent music, it's just that it might be the weakest in the series when compared to AA1's excellent score and AA3's excellent one as well.

I think each game had a better soundtrack than the last one, to be honest. Although AA1 has some classic tracks, they're generally also found on the other two... Except for Age, Regret, Reward which I always thought was one of the best themes, and super appropriate too.

My favourite track on the AA2 OST would have to be Search ~ Opening 2002. I actually get that stuck in my head a lot, it's just so groovy and fun. Pearly's theme is so cute, too, it's great.

Anyway, I would say that my favourites go AA3 > AA2 > AA1. I like them all a lot though!

HELL YES.

It has some of the best Reminiscence themes of the series and Objection 2002 is the best IMO. My definate favourite is the Defendant Lobby, it fits perfectly.

I absolutely ADORE Objection 2002 and Search Core 2002. They are high on the my fave tracks of GS games list.

Just don't talk to me about Reminiscence themes and I won't let Missile on you.

It was in an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, an ep called Handbanana. Handbanana was a dog created by one of the main characters, who liked rape. He said "Tonight. You." as in raping, geddit?

JFA has some really good sound tracks (Examination-2002, Trail-2002, Steel Samurai's Ballard and won the Lawsuit 2002)but compared to the other tracks in the game (Investigation~cornered 2001,Trail-2003 and GS3 Ending) I just Find PW:AA and T&T have better tracks.

I actually think they're pretty good, the only one I don't like is "Announce the Truth 2002," because it has those weird sleigh-bell-rings, it made me think of Santa and Elves and crap... :udgy: If if weren't for the bells, it would've been really awesome.

I like JFA's music more than AA, personally, and I've yet to hear TaT's.

Hearing it for the first time was an odd change, but I find JFA's to be more...I don't know...orchestral? Less...gameboy-sounding? That was the first thing that I noticed, and is why I like it more.

I love the Cornered music D:

also, who could forget the Great Revival songs. Omg <3

I think that the best musics in this game are found in case 4, and the reminisciences. I would like objection 2002 if it werent for that little bleepy thing at the start.

But the circus music, Oldbag/Moe's , and the prologue to case one are all fit for slitting your wrists to.

To be fair, it's not that most people outright hate JFA's soundtrack the most. Rather, they tend to like it, just not as much as the other games' soundtracks. That's not to say it doesn't have any outstanding tracks, but overall the others seem to offer a slightly more fitting experiance as a whole.

So far I think Ace Attorney's music is the best so far...JFA's was OK especially the state the truth theme and the the middle and core search themes. I personally hate the starting search music that plays mostly with Ini, to me it's just so terrible.

I agree with you on some parts. Yeah, JfA music is a bit underrated. Some of the themes I did like, like when Edgey came back.Or when he and Franziska were talking at the airport. (SAD)

But some songs from AA and T&T were better than some from JfA. The only one I can really think of right now is Gyatuken Saiban 3- Trial. Also known as the cool organ music in the T&T Trailor. (Listening to it right now. :rock'n: ) But I did like some music in JfA,like Reminiscence ~ The Fire Carves Scars. (It sort of reminds me of Silent Hill's "Promise [Reprise]" :wtf: )

However,I agree with a few people on here that some people don't just hate it,rather they prefer the other tracks over this one.

I think some people are just waxing nostalgic over their precious PW:AA songs when they play JFA for the first time. They're thinking to themselves "Different songs...this first case is confusing...DIFFERENT SONGS ARGH WHY THE DIFFERENT STUFF!?"

I liked JFA's soundtrack. The trial theme was better than AA's, in my opinion.

And you are not alone on the opinion that Investigation ~ Cornered 2002 is awesome.

Well of course I was comparing it to AA's music. I think that the tunes are equally as good in JFA and AA, but AA's music was better remastered. TnTs music pwned all, but wasnt remastered as well either.

The trial music gets better with every game, although I dislike JFA's allegro cross-examination.

The composition is AWESOME, but the actual music files are JUST FUCKING TERRIBLE.

It's almost NES quality. Hell, I know several NES games that has HIGHER QUALITY MUSIC THAN THAT PIECE OF CRAP.

There's only, 5 i think, pieces of music that I can listen to. And 2 of them are because they sound NICE being so low quality.

JFA only had a few tracks that I liked. At first I despised the soundtrack for several reasons:

-I hated hated hated hated hated the version of Maya's theme they introduced in JFA. It just doesn't sound right.

-The court music overall was very disappointing. The examination music was no good. Allegro had no sense of urgency. The objection music was meh. Pursuit was ok.

-AND DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON THE CIRCUS MUSIC. Presenting every piece of evidence I had to Ben while that horrendous circus jingle played in the background nearly ruined that case for me. I had to replay it a few times to really appreciate the ending.

But the soundtrack grew on me, and I like it for several reasons:

-I can't express how thankful that I am that they left Gumshoe's theme untouched throughout the series.

-The victory music was easily the best out of all three games.

-Matt Engarde's theme (Search ~ In the Midst) was one of my favorites. Very fitting for him in a way that I can't describe.

-Acro's reminiscence music is YES.

-Edgeworth/Franziska's themes were money. Especially the intro to Franziska's at the end of case 4.

Now that I have the full soundtrack here to listen to, I realize I like a lot of JFA's songs. Search ~ Core 2002 is, in my opinion, one of the most epic songs in the whole series.

I think JFA's music is indeed more "advanced" than AA's. Sort of like AA is an OST and JFA is an AST. I think both games have a solid number of great songs, and the songs that are great are because of different reasons. Just about every song from case 4 is utterly fantastic, and I agree that the "reminisce" songs in this version are greatly superior. They just sound so... sad.

There's one thing that's always bugged me, though... is it just me, or is "Police Cell~ Elegy of Surveillance Cameras" HORRENDOUSLY mistimed in some parts?

I agree that JFA's music gets more flak than it deserves. I like Trick and Magic, Objection, Examination (very much), Announce the Truth (VERY much) and Reminiscence (VERY much). But one point where I have to disagree with many people here is that I find the Cornered theme to be woefully inappropriate. The fact is, Cornered simply isn't as epic in JFA as it is in AA or TT. I believe it is this alone that makes people quick to judge JFA's soundtrack. I believe this because it's exactly why I used to think JFA's soundtrack was bad. The same goes for GS4, though I've reversed that position after realizing that GS4's Examination and Objection are probably the best in the entire series. In fact, I've come to think now that it is actually the first game's soundtrack which is the worst, although it has certainly been given a boost by the additions for Case 5 (namely Turnabout Sisters 2005, Marshall's theme and GANT'S THEME!!), and of course how unstoppably epic Cornered is.

I really like the GS2 Court Overture. I almost like it better than GS3's. Actually, Kurain Village is my favorite piece in the entire series.

But, likewise, I think the GS2 OST is waaaay underrated. I certainly liked it better than GS1's...

After playing JFA for the 100th time, the music has really grown on me. I still don't like the examination themes as much as part one, but JFA has some pretty good music...The Reminisce themes (Steel Samurai version is one of my favorite), the ending theme (I like it over Case 4, 5 of AA's), and the Revival themes, plus Case 4's search themes.

JFA has more situational music, such as Regina's "theme" (in the Big Top, I can't imagine a more suitable tune), the song "Hero's Medley" (an unexpected return of a character... this song is GREAT for those scenes!), and heck, even Shelly and Pearl's themes!

No offense, most of the characters in AA shared themes, heck, some didn't even fit along with the CHARACTERS! (Gant's was ominous, but also a bit "play-time" like, so it wasn't fully suitable for him IMO), but JFA KNOWS who to give themes to, and keep themes for from past games. The music also helps with the drama a lot of the time as well (The fire burns scars = GREAT THEME!!!). Now, I haven't played T&T yet (of course), but I wonder if they can be as successful as its predecessors.

TnT had a few good themes, but I felt it OVERUSED previous music a bit much. Especially Search -Core 2003. I love that one to bits, but it was just over exposed in TnT. Over all I actually think JFA has the best ost. AA has good court music and a few great reminisance themes as well as the end all be all Cornered theme (so much so that if I had to associoate one piece of music with Ace Attorney, it would be Pursuit - Cornered 2001). TnT had a good court suite as well, along with 2 or 3 solid themes, but the heavy use of JFA tracks (more than JFA reused AA tracks) made TnT feel like it didn't have it's own identity as much as AA and JFA did. Don't get me wrong though, I like to see old tracks reused, it gives a sense of continuity, I just feel TnT went a bit too far with it.

So overall, I would say JFA has the best of the 3 osts.

I'm sorry, but the music when you're just walking through a room (and when Ini's just STANDING THERE) killed me. The rest of the music is good, but a soundtrack can be ruined for me if there's a lemon in there....
