I have a theory on why people are spoiling things for others. I know it may sound foolish but please hear me out. When people hear of new information about something thats going to be coming out (examples being T&T and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney) they get excited and want to share this information with other people that are interested in the same thing but do not want to hear these spoilers. Its because of the extreme anticipation about a future release that leads to spoiling. This is of course simple theory.

P.S for all those blatantly spoiling things for others please have courtesy and use the spoiler tags thanks and have a nice day :gymshoe:

No, it's generally done for the lulz.

Nothing but a form a trolling. Although there are some cases where your proposed situation is true, they're few and far between on the internets.

Yeah...but sometimes, people don't intentionally spoil things. They just learn stuff, and then either don't think it's spoiler tag worthy, or just kinda...blurt it out. So, while sometimes it's intentional, sometimes it's just a form of misunderstanding. But, being on the safe side and using spoiler tags...that's a solution. :phoenix:

See: Super Makoto.

There's A LOT of spoilery stuff in there, but we didn't do it to aggravate anyone. It's just what's necessary for the project.

Adreneline kicks.

Just like everything else.

It is what makes people beat the shit out of each other, it is what makes people jump out in front of trains, it is what makes people beat homeless people to death, it is what makes people drink themselves senceless twice a day, it is what makes people bully people, and it is what generally make people ruin the lives of everyone else - which includes spoiling people.

And everything while laughing as a madman.

"you only have the fun you make yourself". Yeah, right. *spits*

I spoil only if people REALLY want to be spoiled. I warned my friend about 500 times before I told her some stuff about GS4, and now she's kinda upset, but hey. She wanted to know.

Anyway, I have several friends who are just now starting to get into Phoenix Wright, so I'm gagging myself, because they just keep asking, "OMG WHAT'S GOING ON" and I really can't answer...

But yeah, your theory certainly applies to me. I just have a LOT of self control.

See, that's exactly my point. Apperently, 'it's fun' is used to justify even the most insane cause of action.

I think sometimes it's just accidental to be honest. I generally prefer not to ascribe negative motives to people on the subject unless proved otherwise.

I don't get spoiling. I mean if you play the game or see the movie or read the (7th) book, then you're going to find out the info anyways. The only difference is you don't go through all the filler.

Yeah...but sometimes, it's all about the filler. Like, you could read every single case description for every game, but it's never going to be exactly like if you're playing it yourself. The filler is what makes the game...the game. It's what defines reading from doing. After all-half of PW (to me) is just all those weird jokes and those funny thoughts and the great character interactions. Without them...well, it would be just like reading a case description. Difference is-you're actually clicking the buttons. So sometimes, filler makes the game enjoyable and memorable...and other times it makes you want to bang your head against the wall. It depends on how the writer/director uses filler.

The thing is, the only thing a book has to offer you is a storyline. The things that someone is likely to spoil for you are likely to be the main points of that storyline, now, if you already know the most interesting parts of the story... you have absolutely no reason to read the book.

That, and finding things out for yourself, when you're supposed to find them out is a much greater experience.

It'd be like buying a video game, and then entering a cheat code to skip to the last level.

Yeah that's why spoilers don't bother me as much as they do other folks. It's as much about the getting there as the main points to me. I re-read books as well!

Yeah but for me Phoenix Wright isn't about the ending, its about figuring out each step in the game and playing.

I spoil stuff for my friends. It's sorta game we have going on. They spoil the Flame of Recca storyline for me, I tell them everything happening in Naruto. It's an interesting sight to watch cover our ears while shouting spoilers.

I don't do it on forums though. I don't really see the point in annoying someone I don't know.
Heelllloooo. I'm to lazy to make a sig, but you don't really care, do you?
