Just like everything else.

Anyway, I have several friends who are just now starting to get into Phoenix Wright, so I'm gagging myself, because they just keep asking, "OMG WHAT'S GOING ON" and I really can't answer...
But yeah, your theory certainly applies to me. I just have a LOT of self control.

The thing is, the only thing a book has to offer you is a storyline. The things that someone is likely to spoil for you are likely to be the main points of that storyline, now, if you already know the most interesting parts of the story... you have absolutely no reason to read the book.
That, and finding things out for yourself, when you're supposed to find them out is a much greater experience.
It'd be like buying a video game, and then entering a cheat code to skip to the last level.

Yeah that's why spoilers don't bother me as much as they do other folks. It's as much about the getting there as the main points to me. I re-read books as well!

Yeah but for me Phoenix Wright isn't about the ending, its about figuring out each step in the game and playing.
