I myself really don't see Gant as a pedophile, and I don't have a problem with Pedo!Gant for lulz (that's not going to sound right any way I type it, so we'll leave it at that). But using what, from I understand, is a fanmade piece of his character as basis for not liking a pairing is not so cool with me.
Well, that's not actually my basis for not liking the pairing; it was said for the lulz. In actuality, any Gant pairing makes me cringe a bit; he's just that one degree too creepy, you know? Except possibly GantxYogi. Because that's just funny.
Ah, if that's the case, I apologize for misunderstanding you. I love Gant as a character, and I love Gant pairings

/ - This is actually my favourite pairing... What gets to me about it is most of the fan base. I'm not one for sex, it's pretty much completely uninteresting to me. So to wade through so much "omg so hot hot HOT. PWP. GAYS. PORN PORN PORN" to find a few romantic things that might not actually be about sticking a dick in a hole is uh... frustrating. Not to knock the people who make PWPs or anything. To me, the most interesting part is what leads up to a relationship, the obstacles that need to be crossed, etc etc. I also really doubt one would realize they like the other romantically, much less sexually & not go through a gang of emo/angst/confusion/whatever about it.
Enough about this one, though. :>

Absolutely! If that wasn't possible, I wonder how desolate & monotonous fandoms would be.
Like I said above, I can see where it comes from... & honestly that's a pretty good base to take off in the love rocket, if that makes any sense c_c I just don't personally feel the romantic connection (or possibility of) between them. I don't hold an active dislike for it though, it's more something I don't fully understand.

x - I don't know, it just seems.. wrong. In the fanart and doushinji I've seen of this pairing, Maya looks like a little girl and Phoenix looks like a paedophile. Also the match up doesn't seem right, they're so much like brother and sister, it just seems wrong for them to be together romantically. And Peal put me off the idea by being a complete brat about it in GS3 >> It was funny to start with, but it got dragged on too much. x - I'm not hating on Maya, swear XD I just don't see this pairing working at all, Maya's too childish; the only manner Edgeworth would see her in is one similar to how Phoenix sees her, in other words, completely platonic. But this also stems from how I can't really see Edgeworth with anyone.Those are the two that bug me the most, but yeah, I'm not Maya's biggest fan anyway.
