Since i was little i was always called gay! This type of labelling annoys me so i was derermined to prove them wrong. Then i grew up and became gay lol. But i am still labelled, all the guys at school call me 'gay sean' , My former best friend refered to me as 'the gay' and my younger friends call me 'queerman'. I don't mind too much nowdays as it's true ad i know if ts my friends there juist messing about.
Anyways the whole point of this is i was wondering what labels/nicknames people have here?
And what are your views on them?

I have a friend who calls me Banana.

I was really annoyed because that was originally an insult some other girls came up with for me... But it just kinda stuck. I don't mind it much now. (My friend pronounces it a bit engrishly: BNAAAAHna!)

Another friend calls me Kaoru. Like the younger twin on Ouran Host Club. Because I'm totally the Kaoru to her Hikaru. (Despite the fact that I'm a girl and older than her!)

Other than that everyone just calls me by shortened versions of my name. Or "Juquinha". Which I really like but only my cousins call me that...

I've also been called

Red Cow
Russian Girl
Brazil
Dead Fish
Jewles
Suhi

....And my German teacher calls me Franziska because he allows us to pick out a German name to be called by :franny:

A lot of my friends call me Shiva in real life. They actually started calling me that before I started using it as my nickname, even though I took it from Final Fantasy, but it's kind of complicated
And everyone else usually calls me Mary, cause it's a shortened version of my name.

What I find odd is that I have an incredibly unique name and a good number of people refuse to use it. Apparently, a normal word out of the English language, six letters and two syllables, easily associated wtih a well-known object, is too much for people's brains to process.

So I know who my real friends are.

usually, people just give my name a twist
some people make it sound German: Franziska
some make it sound Italian: Franchesca
one friend even makes it sound a bit Japanese, because that's the way it's written on my bogu for kendo
other than that people usually call me Fran (because my whole name's too long, apparently) or Francis, Fransie, Frannie, anything along those lines really.
other than that people call me Angel or A.W. (people started calling me Angel in real life sometimes)
and for some retarded reason some friends would reffer to me as 'Saint' (don't ask, I don't even know)
then, there was a guy in my class who started calling me Franse panse kevertje .... from this kids' song 'hanse panse kevertje'... he once came up with that, laughed for at least half an hour, and then it just stuck... luckely he was the only one crazy enough to call me that... that and Franse kaas.... which would be french cheese...

which brings me to the fact that people suddenly seem to give me food-related nicknames all the time, like: Francakes, and Franapple... ^^'

other than that people at school seem to back away and reffer to me as 'that one scary goth/emo person' and look at me like I'm an animal in a zoo... simply because everyone else basically seems to insist on showing how much money you have rather than doing what you like ^^'

I don't have any nicknames and I can't remember if I got called names in school - probably, but it was a long time ago and it doesn't have any bearing on my life now.

I don't mind nicknames/name calling etc. if they're between friends and everyone is happy with their usage. I don't think they're appropriate or polite otherwise.

Speaking personally it's fine for give and take banter between me and my friends to include epithets such as "wanker", "slapper", etc. or indeed jokes relating to ethnic or cultural heritage or sexual orientation but only when all parties are comfortable about it and not in other circumstances. And there are some people that I wouldn't dream of bantering with in that way even if they are my friend simply because I know they don't appreciate it. I have Jewish and Muslim friends I can tease about aspects of their religion and others I can't. I have gay friends that I can refer to as "a big gayer" to their face (and they'll call me something equally derogatory in return) and others I wouldn't. I don't mind jokes about my body, gender etc. but I know other women who really don't like that kind of humour.

Everyone is individual and deserves respect, especially from their friends.

On topics: For nicknames, people call me Jamal, J, Jibo, Jib, Jib Jib, Jio, Jamalphonse, Chibi, Cheebo and Chibi-Robo.

Someone called me Jib-uke once... O.o;;

People sometimes label me as a shorty, shrimp or a "Small-ish person". Oh someone called me emo fairly recently it felt like a compliment for some reason. =D

I have alot on here because of my SN, but in real life, my only nickname I have ever had was Bubba, and only my dad and my lil bro would call me that. They really don't anymore. If only I didn't have such a boring name!

Terrorist (I'm Muslim), but I take it very lightly and often make jokes about myself ("shut up or I'll BLOW you up" XD)

I was called "sucker" (imuri) in grade school.

But it's not what you think.

The nickname came at the time when we were very immature about sexual stuff. One day two girls decided to give us rather explicit words or innuendos as nicknames, based on how they resembled our surnames. Imuri happened to have the two first letters of my surname so that's why I got it. So I got called that for a while and other were called by their given nicknames too, and some of them were worse than mine.

Also a running gag in school was me being called "Mr. Turner" for a long and painful while. I got that as a nickname after having a oral presentation in English for the whole school, I was supposed to play the part of a teacher in a play and in the script the teacher was male. We decided to change the teacher to female (Mrs. Turner) in order to please me, but then when we had our final oral presentation, a girl who played one of the students called me Mr. Turner, either by accident or purpose (I'll neeeeever know) The whole school went "OMFG LOL" and decided to annoy me by calling me that for at least a year >___>

I'm usually called Kayla because I've been nicknamed that for so long I usually introduce myself as Kayla. It gets all the teachers confused because my name's different on half of their registers ^^ I also answer to wench occasionally if I feel like entertaining a stupid idea or answering a stupid enquiry.

I'm more of a giver of nicknames, particularly if I'm having a larf. My current favourites are pal, pumpkin and pudding =D

Ah, back to the topic on hand...I've had various nicknames (read-2). Only one stuck well enough that, even through 2 years of school, some of my friends still called (and still do call) me it. The other one was just some stupid nickname that one of my enemies called me to make me mad...luckily, she stopped. So, not that many bad nicknames...as for labels, I've never heard someone label me except myself. So that's not a problem.
