As a Australian, I haven't met many famous people (well, well known famous people) I've met a few Australian stars (including a soap star, huge fan off an Australian soap). My mother was the celebrity magnet. She knows a few well known people from her youth.

They, with 5 others, ran (still run, but I don't listen to it anymore) a podcast about Harry Potter (the most popular one, heh). So after months of being a crazy fan and scowling every time they did something live in the U.S......in March 2007....those 2 came to BRITAIN!!!!!!!FOR A LIVE SHOW IN LONDON!!!!!! God that was the best day of my life...
As for actual famous people...apparently Rolf Harris shops in our supermarket...but I don't really go there, so I've never seen him...

...And that's about it. My most memorable encounter was with Lea Hernandez, the author of my favorite Ameri-manga, Cathedral Child. She was extremely warm and charming, and we talked a lot throughout the weekend. (Unfortunately, her house burned down shortly after I met her...
) I should probably try to e-mail her someday...

Christopher O'Shaughnessy: He's this absolutely hilarious speaker. He spoke at this fall retreat I went to in Florence. He's a great guy.
