A topic I've been wondering since GS4 came out is, what could Phoenix do for a living once everything in case 4-4 is resolved? I can't imagine he'd want to stay in the 'piano-playing gambler hobo' gig for too long, and while it'd be nice to see him go back to law, it seems like he's resigned to looking after Trucy and letting Apollo take the main role, so it might not be an option.

With that in mind, let's wildly speculate. What kind of profession could we see Phoenix taking on in the future?

Personally, I think Nick would make a rather good teacher or college professor. It would be a way for him to use his law degree, and as the games have shown, he does have a knack of influencing people towards a positive direction. He could see it as a way of helping people through law without actually going to court.
Plus, he's put up with youngsters for most of his career and not go insane, so he could defintely handle a class of kids.

Possible? Any other ideas?

Oh I dunno - I think he'd probably made a good campaigning journalist - he could carry on seeking The Truth that way :)

It'd suck to do objections when that happens.

Actually, unless he has a Ph. D in law (which I doubt he has, seeing how old he is in GS1), he can't teach.

Then again, stranger things have happened in the GS world.

I didnt know you had to have a PhD in law (why?) to teach in the US, I thought most of what you needed in the UK was degrees/high qualifications in what you're going to teach as a starting point.

Most profs at Uni have PHDs, even the ones over here. Not sure if you *have* to have one though.

Requirements for lawyers and law stuff in the US is different to over here. I had to research it for a story I am writing and it's a world of pain.

Phoenix is a lawyer! This is obviously rather important to me though I have not a clue as to why since I don't need him back as the main character. :yuusaku: I do want him to be a lawyer again though. Wright and Justice Law Offices is to good to ignore. I could live with teacher though although Nick's never really been the book smart type as far as we know. I think hobo Phoenix is fun, but now its old and he needs to get a real job.

Spoiler: GS4
Its proven that the original forging wasn't his fault and if the spoiler thread means anything, it appears that he says in the ending credits that he planned to take the test again and regain his badge. I've heard different intepretations of the ending credits though, one which he was serious and the other he was making a joke, so I refuse to swear to anything. I'm hoping for he was serious. I wish I knew japanese...

Also perfectly true. Franziska would be too young to prosecute in LA for starters.

But...Phoenix DOES have a real job. It probably pays better than he was making as a lawyer (with four cases a year, lol). He was making enough to supply Minuki with every one of Garyuu Wave's DVDs!

But if he had to take a different job, I think it would still have to be entertainment related. In theory he's part of his daughter's talent agency (however that works).

Maybe he can go back to whatever it was he was studying in college before law. Like... Shakespearean acting, lol.

A particularly unyouthful hair gel spokesperson.

Nah, he'll probably just be a hobo and "work" in the background.

Didn't the Garyuu Wave (those Whiners) need a new manager? Phoenix could help with that, right?

Else he's probably freelance investigator, borrowing MaskDeMasque's costume on the weekends.

Seriously, who wouldn't buy makeup from an ex-lawyer dressed like a bum who can't be bothered to shave?

Lawyer or Agent, doens't have to be a criminal lawyer though. Every talent agency needs someone to foot the legel bills. But seriously...I think probably back to lawyer. As May Fey pointed out. It's too good to pass up him being a lawyer.

Over here, that's the case. Want to teach at the uni level? You NEED a Ph.D.

Ah heck, I'm just gonna put everything in spoilers, just to be safe. ._.'

Spoiler:
I for one would love to see Phoenix "rise from the ashes" get his lisence back for the remainder of the Justice trilogy. It would give us good closure to AA4, plus it would be a waste for him to do everything he did to prove himself innocent and just give up. Dumb luck for not, Nick has a gift for defending people in court, and it would greatly restore my faith in this series if they made this effort. :phoenix:

Hopefully it'll also put all those annoying hobo jokes to rest. I think people tend to overexaggerate that, or just base it off his apperence. The guy has a job and a home, not like you see the guy on the streets begging for grape juice money... :yogi:

Regarding what Mia Fey said about the credits, can we get any confirmation from anyone if he was serious or joking about taking the bar exam? :eh?:

Wright & Co. Everything Offices begs an interesting owner. I forsee Phoenix working at a coffee shop after being subjected to the best brew he's ever had.
