Because we clearly needed a main topic for this.

It's looking to be one of the games that'll be classic forever. Reviews are ranging from 9%% to 100%, and while being nostalgic, it's still fresh and new, and blah blah blah.

Now for waiting a few more days until it's out here :edgy:

I'm getting no sleep waiting for this game. This and Smash Bros. is the only reason I even exist anymore. :D

I played the game at Gamestop... but I stopped after a few minutes because I didn't want anymore spoiled. Everything about it feels so... happy... and awesome.

If Jesus was a video game, this'd be it. :P

I played the Demo of it in Gamestop, and it's freakin awesome! I got about 5 stars and I seriously can't wait to get this game next month (Only buying one game a month now, Call of Duty 4 got this month). I might have to get that demo from my friend once the game comes out, I'm sure there going take that demo out soon.

I can't wait! Did you know that GameTrailers gave this game a 9.8 out of 10? I think that's higher than their Halo 3 review! =)

Doesn't make Halo any less a great game, but Mario games are released in far fewer amounts, so you can expect it.

Did you know that GameSpot gave it a 9.5/10?

Oh, wait! We shouldn't listen to them because they're a bunch of heathens and know nothing about this game. They should be like GameTrailers and give it an 11/10. That would make everyone happy.

One of the main reasons why I am now also getting a Wii. (That and Smash Bros. and Fire Emblem.)

Yeah, that is fun. It's irritating if you run into one during a one-way trip and don't have enough starbits, though.

Anyway, I've had the game since tuesday (damn you, GameStop, and your one-day-late crap), and so far I've gotten about 90 stars, beaten the main story and I am currently working on all the comet runs, hidden stars I missed and such.

Re: Super Mario GalaxyTopic%20Title

Oh great, it's now sitting on 97.5%, making it the second highest rated game of all time.

Thanks for making my decision harder. ^_^

Doesn't it bother you that the game is getting a lot of hype?

It's pretty averagely marketed, but together with the boom of reviews that rate it 95%+ it does get popular, yes. I don't think it's hyped, though - it's justified (and will be over soon).

I agree with walkie talkie. People are giving this game too much credit. I think people are just not ready to admit a mario game on the wii isn't perfect. I mean it looks good but it's no super mario 64. My choices this week were Resident evil Umbrella, Mario and sonic, and galaxy. I could only get 2 so I got theother two which are AMAZING. Umbrella co-op=best thing ever.

Uh, I'm just seeing blatant opinions here (It sounds like you haven't even played the game).
Super Mario Galaxy isn't revolutionary but it tweaks the genre's "concept" enough to bring something new to the table. Removing the FLUDD and keeping things fresh helps make the high ratings believable. Whether it deserves to be the highest rated game in GameRankings (Just using this site for an example so don't "LOL GameRankings" me, haters.) is down to opinions but you can't say it shouldn't be somewhere up there.

That... is really quite idiotic. Mario and Sonic at the Olympics is garbage, as all things made by modern Sega are, and Umbrella Chronicles is a standard-fare rail-shootan. What was going through your head we you decided to pick two decisively average games over what is undoubtedly the best game on the Wii?

If only because it's a Mario game, and you know how much tender loving care Nintendo puts into the core series.

Also, when did I ever say people are giving this game too much credit? I simply said that it was getting a lot of hype and questioned Gears whether or not he found that a hindrance to his plans for buying it.

Honestly, Galaxy isn't the worst of the PAL woes. It gets released pretty fast after both Japan and America. It's games like Fire Emblem that are fun to watch. (Not even dated for Australia and Europe yet, while out in Japan since February. Oh, Nintendo, you're so funky.)

And for those who would like an almost complete OST of the game: http://www2.bigupload.com/download_fram ... 46WYK6J7LG. http://rs109.rapidshare.com/files/69240 ... galaxy.mp3 is one track that isn't in there. It's being updated here.

Argh! I hate .rar files! Why can't all music files have .wmv at the end? It makes everything easier! =(

My computer won't process .rar files no matter what I do! It prevents me from reading the PW translated manga, too...
