Brandon followed the trickle of blood up the stairs, and rounded the bend the the staircase with as much care and stealth as a leopard. He froze upon seeing the hallway before him...blood covered the floor, blood was splattered on the walls; blood dripped from the ceiling, and little blobs of flesh and bone difted in and among the rivulets of blood at the top of the stairs. Fortunately, there were no bodies. Nevertheless, Brandon started to gag and it took several minutes for him to gain his composure. He jumped as the sound of gunshots started up again outside. Swearing quietly, he steeled himself and sprinted past the carnage and into the first office he could find. It was empty...no body, no purse, no handbag, no keys. He turned around and reentered the hall.
(8:45, 30, in an office on the second floor of the office building)

"Um... Excuse me?" George started as the group kept fighting zombies. " I would like to help you all..." George began, pausing to stab at a nearby zombie, " To defeat these things." George then opened up a case of knives, loosed their grips, and flung the open case at the hoard of zombies, knifes plunging into their bodies.

Clay kept whirling around, shooting at the advancing zombies, but both guns clicked. "Crap. Out of ammo." He holstered both guns. "I've got to think of something and fast..."

"Guys?! GUYS!" She looked around and saw that she was back by the office building entrance.
"Great...in a circle..."
Suddenly, ten zombies surrounded her, more and more coming. She noticed the garbage truck and hopped in.
"Aha! Keys in..."
She started the truck and burst through the zombies.

The beast stalked slowly forward, its dead eyes eying Brandon's body and its hands curling into claws as Brandon stood there, petrified.
He was freezing up again.

"Well...I never did pass my driver's liscence..." She looked up as she heard a noise.
A zombie had a rocket launcher and it fired at the truck.
Katrina jumped out of the vehicle, but she was knocked back by the explosion, the truck now in flames.

(Assuming you did get out of the truck. The 'getting knocked back by the explosion' makes me wonder whether you were knocked FURTHER back, or back into the truck.)

Katrina reloaded her gun and began firing at more zombies, using a police car for cover. She didn't get too close, as the car was on fire and the flames would burn her.
"Clay, are you alright?" She spoke as another zombie's head burst open.

"Now we have some real firepower." She aimed at the zombie that had fired the rocket and pulled the trigger, he was blasted back off the roof, blood gushing out his chest.
"Wow...that's some firepower!" She exclaimed, examining the rifle.

The brute let out a deep growl and continued stomping towards Brandon. Jumping out of his trance, he turned and ran to the far end of the hall, where he realized that he had little to no place left to go to...the door next to him was slightly ajar, however, so he opened it and dashed inside to the set of stairs that he found awaiting him. Up, up, up he went until he arrived at the roof, just in time to hear a gunshot and get hit in the head by a flying rocket launcher and a falling zombie.
Brandon slumped down to the roof, blood dripping from his forehead. He was out cold. The ammo spilled out of his pocket and down to the fight below.

Shit.
He was falling...falling off the roof! Everything moved slowly...slowly...slowly...Particles of dust drifted lazily in the small patch of sunlight enveloping him as he fell the 1000 feet from the office buildings roof to the ground far below. Zombies jumped out of buildings after him, clawing at his body, but he didnt even care. It was finally all over. His life flashed before his eyes, scenes that he thought he had forgotten, and moments that he had hoped would never end. All the memories...he fought back a tear as the ground rushed up to meet him, and closed his eyes.

It happened in three seconds. Three dogs came around the corner of the corridor they were in and one lunged at Katrina. She fell to the ground, trying to fight it off from mauling her face.
"My god, they're zombies!" She said, shooting the dog twice in the face, trying to get it off.
