Violet closed her eyes and started to sketch. She let her hand trace the picture for her. She loved the feeling of creating something beautiful by accident. But sometimes... They weren't the best example.

'I don't even want to look while I'm doing this. Just let my thoughts pour out onto the page. Like writing a story, except it's an instant... captured in a single frame of life. Just keep drawing... Let the picture create itself.' Jay was thinking intensively while his hand blurred around the page, creating lines and curves, carefully filling in dark spots while avoiding spots meant to be light-colored. 'Now, let the colors come in. The orange hue of a sunise, the bluish hue of the ocean... the green of the trees, the turquoise color of the sky... Colors are beautiful.' The image kept being transfered from Jay's mind to the page. It would soon be completed.

"Ah, finished." Jay opened his eyes and saw the picture staring back at him. It was a beach setting at sunrise with the sun reflecting off the water and there were trees around. But soemthing was strange about this picture... "What...? It's in color? How the heck did that happen?" Jay looked at his pen, which seemed to be rapidly changing colors the instant he looked at it. A fraction of a second later, however, the pen returned to its normal black state. "Hmm, interesting..." 'Red, like the color of leaves in autumn.' Jay thought with his eyes closed and saw the color. He opened his eyes and saw the pen flash to red and then back to black just as quickly. 'Hmm...'

"Hehe... I knew installing one of those small blue gems on the pen would cause something interesting to happen..." Jay said aloud. The pen had a small blue gem on it, similar to the ones on the bracelet. "I guess this gave it the special power to change to the color the holder is thinking at that particular time... Here. I made another one. You can have it." Jay handed a similar pen to Violet. "Try it out. If you want, you can now give your sketches the color they need... Unless you think they're beautiful as is... So, what say you? Heehee... heeheehee..." Jay started giggling again, for no apparent reason.
