Okay, here's the idea in short:
Create a wiki on a wiki farm. Allow people to write multi-choice stories on there using multiple pages. All the pages in a story will be prefixed by the person's screen name and the number of that story. (Ex: If it's my first story, it'd be "BigFish 1 - <page title>").

Now, what this would allow is fanfiction with choices in it, allowing it to be "played" like a normal Phoenix Wright case, albeit without graphics/music.

Do you think the idea would work?

This site is a Wiki that can be used to create interactive Phoenix Wright/Apollo Justice cases, and it is in desperate need of contributors. If you have an idea for a case, feel free to add it!

Here's the link to it:

OMG. You have no idea how many times I've thought of this. No idea! I, for one, could NEVER pull it off. However, get someone skilled and patient enough, and I'm sure it'd work. I'd absolutely love to see it if you do it. And if you need an idea for a case:
"Oh! Oh! Pick me! Pick me! The one right up here in front! Right here!"

I've thought of that before. But I wasn't sure what to write about. I've seen it on other message boards, though. :)

Alright, I'll PM you my idea so I won't hog the boards. It'll probably be really retarded since I've never written a fanfic in my life or anything of the like.

It'd be a collection of a bunch of these interactive fanfics, so anybody would be able to write them and have them categorized, etc. That's why the page titles would have "BigFish 1 - " or whatever in front; so there aren't overlapping page names.

The cases would have tags like "murder case", "3-day trial" etc. etc.

This is really cool. All the interactivity of a PW Case-Maker, but no demand for art or music skills! So far, the functionality looks pretty good, too - it has a Court Record and everything. Will you be able to give custom responses for incorrectly presented evidence, or have a penalty counter?

Anything that can be done with links and widgets can be done. You can look at the source for the example case just by pressing the edit button. It's just regular wiki code. That's one of the reasons I chose Wikidot: It has a tab widget. Tabs + Court Record = Awesome :redd:

I don't think you could have a penalty counter, though. It can't keep track of variables. (At least to the best of my knowledge...)

Also, now you can sign up without me having to accept your application. That got real irritating. :grey:

I've begun mine! Most of it's hidden now, but if anybody wants to beta-read, please ask! So far, I've finished the brief Tutorial section and am just starting with Investigation 1. It'll have several parts when it's done: Investigation 1, Trial Scene 1, Investigation 2, Trial Scene 2 - just like a real PW case.

Mmm... I'm still working on ideas for the case I have in mind (brainstorming the old fashion way on paper :yuusaku: ), but hit me with a PM if you need a beta-reader.

Yeah, I noticed yours. You know you have to put "FerdieLance 1 " before all your pages right now, right? Actually, it's a bit too late for that... but whatever. The only reason I made that rule is so that page titles don't ovelap... (Like what if a bunch of people had a page titled "Hmm..?" or something?

EDIT: Oh whoops, that probably wouldn't work with your unorthodox system. Go on! :sawit:

Also, I added tags to your case, Cream147, because otherwise it's impossible to find it. Your case deserves to be noticed, with it's nifty investigation phase! :keiko:

When I saw the recent edits list, I was like, :ack: OMG!, because I haven't got a chance to be on the computer much lately and there was over 8 pages of edits!

(I'm new here by the way)

This is a great idea. I've already started on my case, thanks for tagging it by the way, I was wondering how people were going to find it. The only problem I'm having is trying to stop it from being linear, but that's not too much of a problem. Even if it does turn out quite linear, that doesn't hinder the story.

EDIT: Time covered does mean the amount of time that the story will go over yes? Like mine will be Investigation, Trail, Repeat, 1 day for each.

Yeah, that's what time covered is for. Although, in the game, the trials happen in the morning and the investigations happen in the afternoon of the same day, so 4 days would be 4 trials and 4 investigations. Although, it really doesn't matter, you can break that rule.

Yeah... I hope you're okay with my system. I was worried about it, so I tried to keep each title kind of case-specific. The only conceivable exceptions, I think, would be some of the throwaway "This page is a dead end" pages. That's the advantage of the code system, though - if I have page called jnjspc, or InsideBistroag, how likely is it that somebody's going to overlap?

To everyone else: The way I'm avoiding linearity is by using an inventory system for investigation phases. The player keeps Notepad or some other text editor open, and is occasionally given clues that allow them to visit new locations or use new items by altering the URL of a page. For example, if the player finds a "Piece of Scotch Tape," they might be told that it has evidence code "st," which means that at any page, they can try to use or present it by appending the letters "st" to the page's URL.

This is much too bulky for trials, but I think it should work for investigations. I've got a tutorial up right now for my case, though I didn't write a full-fledged tutorial mini-case. Perhaps I should, first.

Gerk - I retagged your case.

Everyone might want to get used to this: I'm going to retag cases a lot so they're better categorized.

I'm okay with it. It's very innovative... I would have NEVER thought of something like that on my own! :phoenix:

Also, there's now a forum on the site for discussion now. So post there for questions! Only post on this thread to bump it up. :sawit:

It's not just humour though, it's serious too. Is there a serious tag?

I got rid of serious because... well.... that's kind of an oxy-moron there, right? (I hope I spelled that right)

The thing is though, it's not. While I'm adding humour to it, I'm going to be adding serious bits to it too. If that makes sense.

I've set up a sort of odd interface for interacting with the case, and have begun the investigation section. It's very page-coding intensive, in a way, since I have to include lots of responses for attempts at using objects on different people, but it's slowly developing. If anybody wants to test the interface, please ask. I do think it could use some streamlining...

Please, anyone who's reading this topic now, feel free to post in the forums or add a case. Right now, FerdieLance has become the sole contributor in this Wiki, and more people need to make cases on this site.
