Maybe some of you are playing the same things as I. Or maybe you go to my school.

I'm not playing/singing anything recognizable in orchestra, but I am singing I've Got The Sun in the Morning it G&T choir.

In my chorus at school we're singing Christmas and winter songs because our winter concert got postponed for snow. My favorite one we're doing is "California Dreamin'".

If I may ask, what exactly is G&T?

Ah! I did that in winter. I'm an alto, so I sang the melody. I love that song.

G&T stands for Gifted and Talented. You have to audition to get into it, as it is "gifted and "talented."

I doubt I can probably relate since I'm not in choir anymore and can't remember the names of any of the songs I sang, but back from 5th grade to my senior year in high school, I was in choir and it was a blast. My teacher was awesome too. In fact, my middle school choir teacher from my 6th to 8th grades years moved to the high school to teach choir the same year I started my freshman year of choir so I had her for 7 years. She was great though. She had a good sense of humor and was a great choir teacher. I was a late bloomer in voice changing, so I was an alto from 5th to 7th grade, a high tenor 8th and 9th, and from 10th grade to now, I'm a bass 2, which is the lowest singing part they got. Definitely funny my 10th grade year of choir when my teacher heard my singing voice.... especially when I was the only bass hitting the lowest notes!!! XDDD

Well, I was a soprano in chorus for ten years, and when high school came around, I was declared a first soprano. If you were to hear my normal speaking voice, you'd crap yourself.

The last song I remember singing in chorus before I blew the scene was "Sounds of Silence."

Not necessarilly. Gifted, by secondary definition, can be used to describe someone with high/extensive knowledge.

Talent is just something you can do really well. For example, take your stereotypical jock. He can unrealistically run as fast as a car on a city street but he couldn't tell you what the Hell his state capital is.

I used to play Trombone for the school band. I wanted to be a percussionist, but the band teacher wouldn't let me. Ugh, I absolutely hated the Trombone.....so I quit the school band, and I now sing (badly) in my own band, lol.

Get some practice going - trombone can be bloody awesome when played well, and a lot of fun with good music.

I've got a very hard bell song for contest in concet band that has a small solo in it and I'm freaking out.(its not that the part itself is hard I just suck at bells majorly)
I've also got a cool timpani part for a march that I love. I love timpani.

Besides singing, I also play the flute, but I didn't take band this year; I only did the last few years. And just to follow up on my other post about my chorus: I am a soprano. Just in case anyone was wondering.

band as in school band?

I used to play 1st violin when I was in high school. Then I got all rebellious and quit. Traded my violin for an axe... rhythm guitar/vocals is totally fun.

Well, I'm in none of the listed, since I'm in Creative Writing in my G and T school, and you can only do what's restricted to your single talent (Only Drama talent does plays, Only Music talent does the concert, only Art gets to do art for the school...etc..) But in my guitar lessons I'm learning "One Song Glory" from Rent and Musetta's Waltz.

I'm a trumpet player. Right now, we're playing a piece called "Kronos". My favorites that we've ever played were Lament and Tribal Dances and Rhythmata.
