......

I asume that when the note has a glowing white core, it means that you can hold down the button for it to count...

Can you only hold down the ONE button? I ammume that's the case......

OH! And one more question to anyone reading: Before attempting the song itself, should I be playing any... "slower" versions in training most? Because I'll be honest. "Slower" is sleep-inducing, and "Slowest" is COMA-inducing.

NO!

If it has a glowing white core, it's a Hammer-On or Pull-Off.

And don't even think of telling me you don't know what those are.

Weird. Because I watched my sister play the game, and she only holds down the button for it when it comes up, and it counts... But yeah, I know what they are. I'm trying to think of which is which though, but ONE is, for example, holding down the first 3 buttons when a yellow comes up, hitting the strum for only the yellow, then assuming the next ones are red and green, in that order, release the yellow when the red shows up, then release the red when the green shows up.....

But for the green-starting one, I'm sorry, I haven't mastered it's usage...

but I never used the hammer-on idea like THAT before, for holding more than the designated button....

That's the new engine. It's made so that for HO/POs, as long as the button is held down when they pass the line count.

Oh yeah, it works similar to a guitar that other part. Only the fret closest to you counts unless it's a chord, so if green and yellow are both held down, it will hit yellow notes.

Yeah... question: How does the "start as green" one work? do I just hit the green, then the next one when it shows up assuming it's recent?

And is there a reply to my "training mode" question in the midst? :gymshoe:

Is it a good idea to do Training Mode at slower speeds than normal? Or will that simply be a waste of time? I tried Doing "Slowest" mode when I first started, and... well, lets just say that it was "less than enjoyable"...

In other words, if you are preparing to "take on" a new song, or harder difficulty, is there any sort of recommendation you can give?

*sighs*

Lets say you were playing Dragonforce. To get more of a "feel" for the notes, would it be better to play at a slower speed first, then to play at a faster one? Or would that simply make you worse?

For me it's better to sightread first, practice later.

That good? It's not remotely good. I rented it for three days and that's all I needed out of it.

The main complaint stems from the small song selection and missing features coupled with a full price tag. You're basically getting an incomplete package for the price of a standard Guitar Hero game.

I don't play 80's that much. It's just...meh.

Isn't BiM from 80's?

Oh yeah, I goldstarred 20 songs, so that's 30G in the bag.

Yes, BIM is from 80's, if I recall, but I myself only have the Wii GH III game (And III is the only version the Wii has). As such, the PS2 is the only one with 80's (but I think I said that before...)

One on the other hand is HARD. Don't believe me? I'm guessing you haven't seen the impossible triplets on Hard Solo A, or the difficulty of being consistent on the Darkness Riff. It took me ages to 5* that bitch.

I am comparing it, still on Easy (need to go back to playing) against the other 3 songs, especially Slayer (but that's somewhat unfair still...). I mean, even for Easy mode, I was REALLY let down by the fact that Metallica was the easiest one of the 4...

Edit: Just realized that their "Pride and Joy" is NOTHING like the one I have, and that's in a car commercial (Which is the same version as mine...)

But hey, GH helped me change my Music portfolio. :edgy:

Yeah... you know, I actually am considering putting it on my MP3 player (and Beethoven is STILL the strangest thing, since it comes right before my "Bulls on parade" track) , and it has no lyrics, unlike... the remaining songs in the game...

Cliffs of Dover is pretty easy compared to the rest of the 8th tier songs.

Raining Blood's easier than Dragonforce. Hands down.

Oh yeah, as a way of getting extra energy and adrenaline, I've been drinking some pumped-up version of Red Bull. It greatly improves my performance. I've been using it to attempt to 5* Raining Blood.

Anyone else use some sort of external energy source?

Has anyone tried "Brawno"? Apparantly, it's an actual drink with, according to a site that reviewed it, "10 times the amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee".

... but I only drink Water. Flavored, Bottled water.

Is Raining Blood the Slayer song? That's piss easy. The only thing that puts it in the top tier is that the 'raining' part where your going back up and down the fret-board is really fast. Once you figure out the speed you can do the whole section without missing a note.

I assume you're playing on Expert? It gets much worse every difficulty you go up. But the song is kind of easy because it's so short, and it won't be as tiring for that reason.

I apologize: I determine how easy a song is based upon how close I come to getting perfect on it, not how close I come to failing (Granted, that'd mean that I'd consider "School's Out" to be harder than "Bulls on Parade"... and "When You were Young" to be pretty freakin' annoying! I mean, all I hear is "click-click-click-click-click" about 200 times! And it's RAPID so it annoys the heck out of me...
