Anyone want to see a scripted walkthrough?Topic%20Title

Well...I was able to get my copy of limited edition today, and now armed with a cousin whose Japanese is way better than me by my side, I am now able to provide a complete scripted walkthrough of case1 and 2 in a few days. I doubt I will have the energy to finish 3 and 4, but this could be a start and someone can certainly pick up later on.

Since this is a pretty exhausting task, I want to see if there is anyone interested to read them, and in what format (staight story-to-court brief format, or detailed, no-jokes-missed format) Otherwise I'd happily save my time and wait for the general FAQ from this site. Larry

I want the limited edition...I want to see the highlights DVD. But I can speak about six words of Japanese, and can recognise about four Japanese characters, so it wouldn't have a lot of point, me buying it. I just hope AA4 comes out with a highlights DVD here.

Anyway, I would be interested in reading this walkthrough, but don't put all the effort in just for me! As you say, it's extremely exhausting and long task, so you'll need a few people asking for it to make it worthwhile, right?

So are you enjoying the game then? Do you like playing as the new lawyer (sorry, keep forgetting his name).

Actually, I was planning on doing something like that (not a 100% translated script, but maybe testimonies and some important parts). But I still don't have my copy. *sob*

But I'm sure there's interest for it.

Croik,

Do you want me to team up with you? 2(3) heads are better than one and everyone is able to see the work done faster.

As someone who ordered the Limited Edition GS4 and knows nothing of the Japanese language, I for one would be extremely, EXTREMELY grateful if even just a Case 1 scripted walkthrough was done!

I'm sure others would really appreciate it too; I want to understand the story so badly. Hobohodo I freakin' love Odoroki, there's no way I could pass up the Limited Edition... XD I'm a sucker for Gyakuten Saiban.

I'd offer some help or assistance, but unfortunately I'm Japanese retarded... D:

EDIT: Zuh? Why doesn't my text show up?

"Seconded", was what I tried to say.

Sounds good to me. I still plan on finishing the bare bones guide, but I can't wait to see what everything actually means.

A team effort would be great! Though I won't be of any help until my game actually gets here. Edgeworth

I'll plan to do case 4 for now, and if my copy shows up before anyone gets to it, I can do 3, too.

Sounds perfect.
I will start handling Case 1 tonight, you can catch on once you get your copy. If anyone else wants to help, they can start on 2 and 3.

I am going to try my best at translating all the jokes, if I run into unfamiliar slangs I will ask on the board. (Hopefully someone like you or JapaneseGIRL can help me out.)

I'd be very, very interested in helping out with this. I was actually planning on just going ahead and translating the entire first case by myself -- but if we can split it up among a few people, that would no doubt make it easier (and faster) for all of us.

(P.S. To anyone who was following my translations of the GS4 developers' blog, sorry for abandoning that project halfway through -- I've been rather busy the past week. I may go back and translate some more of the entries sometime later, but for now I think I'll focus on translating the actual script, as I'm pretty sure there's more interest in that.)

You are extremely welcomed. Been an avid reader of your translations on the blog entries. If you are willing to work on 2 or 3 that will be great, and my skills are limited and certainly need someone who has more knowledge to proof-read on 1.

I'm already working through case 1, so maybe we could compare notes?

How far have you gotten? and I want to know about Croik's progress too, since she has been working on the demo translation.

Goes to about the first cross.

That's up to you. But depend on the cases a full script could take weeks to finish. If you know absolutely no Japanese, you might want to wait until the script is out before deciding to spend the money.

Update: I am now finishing up Masaka's second testimony. Based on this speed, I can finish the draft of Case 1 by this weekend.

Croik, do you think we should use this thread to discuss the script translation, or it is better to open another thread?

It would probably be helpful if we had a project page -- even something incredibly simple and bare-bones -- just showing who is (or will be) working on which part of the script, and perhaps how far along they've progressed. I'm ready to start translating, but I don't want to waste time doing something that someone else is already working on (or even worse, has already finished).

Then later, as various chunks of the translation are finished, we could post them on the same page to be edited/proofread by the other translators.

It might be a little work putting up a page like this at first, but really, we could just put together a very simple layout, and it would probably save a lot of trouble in the long run.

Since there are three separate threads talking about it right now, I was going to put up a Sticky as the official place to discuss it. As for a page to collect resources, if you send finished works to me, I can upload them to a separate directory on CR for everyone to peruse.
