" And the winner is....Black Bear" The announcer smiled as the crowd went wild, the old rock band singer Maurice "Rock" Solid letting out a whoop of excitment, punping his fist into the air as his band rejoiced, winning the Battle of the Bands competition against their 'friendly' competition, 'Statement!" The two, although musically different, had been rivals for quite some time, so while the talentede rock band celebrated on stage, the lead singer of "Statement!"- 24 year old Ace O'Hearts and his brother fell into second- The last place the competitive singer wanted to be. He stormed backstage after giving a fake smile to the audience.
From backstage, Ace was last seen walking to his room with his younger brother and bassist to the two-man band, Jack O'Hearts. Before his winning speech, "Rock" Solid wanted to talk with the younger man but was stopped by his band manager and fiancee, Rose Desert, who coldly told the man that he didn't want to be seen at the time, least he blow something up. Rock, shrugging it off, decided that it would be better to talk with him when ace had cooled down.

About twenty minutes later, the lead singer of "Black Band"- Rock Solid- waled out onto the stage before his screaming fans, accepting the Battle ofthe Bands gold trophy. Taking the microphone handed to him by the announcer, Rock cleared his thoat "Thank you!" he cried, earning another roar from the crowd. "But before I accept this award, I have an announcment to make." At this, the crowd grew so silent, you could hear a guitar being tuned from miles away. There had been rumors in the paper that Rock Solid would be leaving his band, but nobody knew if it was true of not. They didn't get the chance, however, and a sharp whizzing noise filled the air- Twice.
The singer gasped an gave out a cry of excruciating pain and fell to the ground, two bloody knives sticking out from his back. The crowd's once delighted screams turned into those of pure horror and the audience members all flew to the exits signs, a few staying behind. Two women came from behind stage- A young blonde girl named Chic Adee and the manager from before, Rose Desert. Two security guards leapt on stage and began to ask what happened until the younger girl let out a shriek. "Those knives!" she cried, "They're Ace's!" The two guards ran to the back where, sure enough, they found Ace O'Hearts, a dazed and confused look in his eyes. The two guards jumped him and put the handcuffs on the younger man, arresting him for the murder of Maurice "Rock" Solid.

Details: Sung in the old rock band "Black Bear" for more then 20 years. Was father to one son, Tom Solid. Was known to be a friendly guy, and was rumored to be leaving his band. The year before his death, he was acknowledged as a "Rock Legend" world wide.

Reason for suspicion: Rivalry. Rock Solid's band had won over his own in a Battle of the Bands competition that evening.

Details: His best friend died in a car accident five years beforehand, scarring him and giving him a paranoia of death. He's lead singer in the band "Statement!", a pop-rock band made up of himself and his younger brother, Jack O'Hearts. Very optomistic and flirty; He's almost always smiling, but is a very sore loser.

Details: Ace O'Hearts' younger brother, whom he idolizes. Nice to generally everybody. Claims to have seen Ace after the announcement had been made and tried to calm him down.

Occupation: High School Senior/ President of the 'Statement!" fan club.
Details: Your typical teenage girl, she was backstage at the time of the murder. Had a camera with her, and took a very blurry picture of what appears to be a silhouette of a young man with a knife- the murderer. (Has yet to be uncovered by the defense.)

((I don't really know how to start this off but I guess I'll go see Ace O'Hearts at the detention center.))
Kyle he recieved a call from Ace O'Hearts earlier this day begging him to be his defense attorney. "Hmm..." He was watching the news when the reporter came on. 'A few days ago the lead vocalist of the band 'Black Bears' was allegedly murdered by the lead vocalist of the rival band 'Statment!' The motve of the murder is still unkown, more to come later tod-" Kyle shut off the TV and headed for the Detention Center where he met up with Ace O'Hearts in his booth.

That day, Ace O'Hearts sighed as he looked up at the ceiling with his visible left eye, his other brown air covered by a flip of a darker brown, black dyed streaks detailing it like most people his age did. His focus changed quickly, however, when the guard startled him by walking into his booth. he cast a glance over at him. "What's up, dude?"
His expression changed when the bulky guard told him about his 'special guest'. His eyes lit up. "Dude! He actually came through?! I guess what they say about this guy is true!" The man, known for rhyming his words, sat up like a little boy on Christmas when he saw Mr.Church.

a man around the age of 22 bursted in through the door to the detention center "Ace! I got you the newest copy of Moving Boulder mag just in case you need reading while in Jail. Usually Jails wouldn't allow this. But they HAVE to make an exception this time. After all you are the world famous, loved by all, ACE O'HEARTS!"

Ace's attention pulled itself away from the defense attorney and he gave a wild grin. "Jack!" he greeted happily, his brown eyes shimmering slightly. "Dude, I knew you'd come visit me!" The magazine held in the younger man's hand made his broad smile widen. "Seriously? Thanks!" he looked over at the guard in his holding cell, who dozed, cap over his eyes. Ace could have sworn he saw a dribble of saliva at the corner of his mouth. "Eh, I'm sure that guy won't mind. Any good articles about the band?"

Church was startled by the sudden outbursts of Ace's little brother. he regained his cool and sat down. "So your Mr. Hearts, its nice to meet you my name is Kyle Church I'll be your defense..." He looked at Ace who had turn away to see his little brother. 'Ignored again... But I can't blame him, if I were in his position I would also be happier to see my little brother then some old lawyer.' Thought Church. He waited until Ace was done talking to continue his sentance.

"There is a review of our latest single on page 17, a current timeline of our band on page 19, and a note on why you are innocent from a cheif editor on page 37. But most is about Rock Solid's death and the award won by those cheaters, 'Black Bear'." With this Jack gave him the magazine

"Oh sorry..." Church turned around and saw that it was the prosecuter of the case, Ivan Okrainec. "Hey, aren't you the prosecuter of this case, Ivan Okrainec?" He looked at him and wondered if he knew that he was the defense attorney. 'So the prosecution personally came by to kick me out... Hmm.' Church thought as he said goodbye to Ace and headed for the door.

Ace grinned as his little brother handed him the magazine. "Thanks man!" he said with appreciation, taking the Moving Boulder edition for his magazine, nodding as he saw the article Jack told him about- The one that the Chief Editor wrote. "Ha, I knew somebody knew I wasn't guilty!" he turned to look at the defense attorney and flashed him the article. "See? Take a look at this, Kyle! This might make things die down in a little while!"
While showing Mr.Church the article, he turned to look at his little brother. "That's the guy that's gonna get us innocent, Kyle Church!"

The sudden entrance of the prosecutor caught Ace off guard, and he frowned. "Aw, come on, dude, don't be rude! I need to talk to this guy so he can tell me what's up with this whole murder!"

"Sweet!" He looked at Kyle Church "I'm Jack, Jack O'Hearts. Brother of The best rock star that ever existed, Ace and Bass player for the band 'Statement!'"

"Nice to meet you." He said as he looked at Ace. "Don't worry even thought I can't talk to you right now I promise, I will get you an apuittal." He said as he left the detention center. He was standing next to the bus stop as he thought. 'I can tell that this case is going to be a nightmare...' He got into the bus and rode it to his office.

Hello mr. Ace you are being charged for the death of Rock Soild of the Black Bears. Your trial will start tomorow you murdered him with a throwing knifes i will see you tomorow at your trial i have never lost a case. Ivan turns around and leaves with seven last words "i'm a big fan sorry about this"

Kyle sat in his office and awaited tomorrow's trial. He was very nervous because he new about Ivan, the legendary prosecuter who had never lost a trial since he started his career as a Prosecuter. "Man this guy is fierce..." He read about Ivan on the prosecution directery he has on his computer. "I can't belive I'll be doing battle in court with Ivan Okrainec!" He layed back in his chair and waited for the trail to begin.

"Hmmmmm..... Let's see......" Mira took out his notepad and started to read it. "Oh yeah, I'm assisting the defense in an upcoming trial. I should call the attorney I'm working with." Mira went to his phone and called Kyle.

Kyle picked up his phone. "Hello?" He said with a tired voice. "This is Kyle Church attorney at law, how can I help you?"

"This is Mira, assistant attorney at law, the better question would be 'how may I help you?'"

"...?" He was confused he didn't remember ever having a defense's aide. "Umm... your going to be my defense's aide?" He said as he wondered if he every had recieved a Defenses aide.

*beep beep* there was a call on the other line for kyle

"I've got documents saying that I am, but I see you have another call on the line."

Chic Adee knocked on the office door, fidgeting impatiently. She was at the right place, wasn't she? Sure enough, the name on the door read "Kyle Church, Attorney at Law." Her knocking grew more and more frantic.
"Mr. Church? I know you're in there! MR. CHURCH!" she shouted, suppressing the urge to kick down the door.

"And I hear someone's at the door. We'll talk about this later." Mira hung up.

As most of the frivolous visitors left the detention center visiting area, a single woman stood in the doorway. Her eyes nonchalantly fell upon the only man who she would bother visiting when she had so many other things to attend to. However, it wasn't much of a coincidence that all those things she had to waste time on revolved around the ever-so popular, Ace O'Hearts; the very same man in the containment cell in front of her. It seemed the trouble (and migranes) she had thought would come later along in life, decided to give her a surprise party of sorts.
Rose Desert, manager for the pop band Statement!, wasn't quite sure on how to feel on the current situation. After all, someone was killed, and it didn't help much that she suspected anyone and everyone.

Her overly-competitive fiancee was a suspect for a murder and the media was going out of control with convoluted lies and stories of how the event, the murder, occured...

Not quite sure of the pop star's own innocence, Rose warily approached the visitor's seat. The twenty-six year old was in luck as her fiancee wasn't taken in for questioning yet. She needed her own questions answered first, she had decided firmly.
"How are you, Ace?" She asked calmly, offering the younger man a small smile.

The woman, although seeming cold to almost everybody else in his life, gave Ace a warm feeling. Especially so since she actually took the time to see him- He only thought his little brother would bother, maybe a few obsessive fans, too. (That is, if Jack wasn't an obsessive fan.) That ever-present smile was still there once he acknowledged who had came to visit. Not a lot of band members would be happy to see their band manager while they were under heavy suspicion of murder, but that's not what Ace saw.

After all, what Twenty-four year old wouldn't be happy to see his fiancée?

"Rose! It's great to see you!" he greeted happily, eyes glimmering as his lover smiled at him- It was nice to see her smile, Ace believed, especially since she must have been under enough stress as it is. "How's everything been? How have you been?" He, forever aiming to please Rose, didn't want to make himself seem egotistical- That word made him think of Rock's son, and anything dealing with Rock Solid he'd rather not associate with.

Kyle switched to the call waiting on his other line. "Hello?" Before the person could answer he heard a bombardment of loud knocks on his door. 'Now who could that be...?' He thought as he put the phone down. He opened the door. "Hel-" before he could finish his sentance one of the knocks "knocked" him in the face. "Yeow!" He stumbled back, and into his chair. He sat there rubbing his face, then walked back to the door. "Um... How may I help you?" He said still rubbing his nose.

Jack looked at Rose with a smile "Hello Rose. Got any new info about the band?"

Kyle hears some mumbling from the phone that sounds like "my first witness is Ms. Adee good luck i won't go easy on you see you tomorow"

"ACE!" Chic screeched, not even noticing that she'd just smacked Kyle in the face. "Is he ok? Because they wouldn't let me in the detention center and I was all like, what the heck? And they were all like, we're sorry but visiting hours haven't started. So I was all like, but I'm the president of the Statement! fan club! And they were all like, you have to leave, so I tried to run past the guards and they tackled me and it hurt and now I'm here because-" she paused for breath, "because you've probably seen him because you're his lawyer so you would know how he's doing. How's he doing?" Chic looked up at Kyle, concern in her eyes.

Kyle was very confused, he could barely understand any of chic Adee's babbling. "uhh... Ace O'Hearts is fine, umm just one question. WHO ARE YOU?!?" HE said as he looked at her having absolutly kn idea who she was, and still rubbing his nose. "And you do realize you practically broke my nose!"

Rose let out a small sigh at her fiancée's cheeriness, 'The same Ace.' she thought warmly.
The young woman took a moment before answering the musician's questions. The mananger wasn't able decide if she should give Ace a sweet, little white lie, or stress how much trouble he was causing the band, her reputation... and her nerves. Rose never really liked being cross with or, as others put it, cold, to the popstar. However, she didn't give a second thought for other people; she was as cold as she wanted to be, it didn't matter.
But she owed it to a certain someone that she be as soft as she could to the younger man.

"I'm quite alright, Ace. Everything had been fine." She lied gently, feeling a small pang of guilt as she saw a glimmer of admiration in his brown eyes. "I've been doing my best to keep things under control." The young woman stated somewhat truthfully.
"But really, Ace. How have you been? Have you been treated well?" She asked with a slight uneasiness, her brow cutely furrowed.

"As for the band," Rose started, pulling a clipped magazine article from her maroon tote and turning to her future brother-in-law, "Read to your heart's content." She said dryly, handing Jack the article.
The magazine clipping was titled in bold, red lettering, "Statement!: The Truth Behind The Murder - A Musician's Overpowering Jealousy!"
"It's a bunch of garbage some poorly paid journalist came up with. It goes on and on about Ace's 'over-competitive' nature and loathing for the Solids.... But I do remember there's a lovely section on you, Jack. 'Jack O'Hearts: Enthusiastic Fanboy or Band Member?', I believe." Rose added indifferently.

Ace nodded. " I'm happy to hear you're okay!" he said with cheer in his voice, just as happy that they had both taken the time to visit him under such stress for the band. Regarding his fiancé's other question, Ace shrugged. In all honesty, there wasn't a lot to be said about his current condition. Being a pop star, he realized quite soon with a pang in his heart, wasn't fun when you were in jail. Interested stares, whispers, personal questions...It was defiantly a new experience for the normally protected vocalist, one that he hoped he'd never have to experiment with again.

"Everything here's been fine- Well, as good as it's gonna get, I guess." He responded finally, looking over at his sleeping guard. "Although, they might want to tighten things up around here." he added with a small laugh. He couldn't bring himself to lie to her, especially with her actually being concerned with him, or so he thought. Sometimes, it was as through you could never tell when the older woman was genuinely happy or not.

He eyed the article as his younger brother was handed it, listening to his manager describe it. Even with the humorous bit at the end, Ace could actually feel his blood simmer slightly. The writer eas right; He was competitive (That's what he was always told), and he did loathe both of those 'Cheating, aggravating, and just an all-around pain in the ass' Solids, but did this people think that he would actually...A dry laugh escaped him. "Let the paparazzi write whatever they want." He said with a grim tone. "My fans- And my lawyer!- will come through for me in the end!" he nodded his head as to agree with what he said. They will, he thought, right?

Meanwhile at the Dark Night Theater, a young man named Raikujo Isaacs, accompanied by an investigative squad, walked on stage where the murder occurred. Raikujo was not affected by the dead body lying on the ground; he's used to seeing dead bodies by now during his time on the force. Turning his head to the chief of police, he asked, "Is this where Maurice 'Rock' Solid was killed?"
"Yes Detective Isaacs. Will you...?"
"Of course sir. That's what I'm here for."
Donning a pair of rubber gloves, Raikujo slowly pulled out the two knives stuck in the body and placed them into a plastic bag.
"Check for any fingerprints on these knives, and file in an autopsy report immediately. Also, I want the floor plans made for this place as well, on the double!" Raikujo said to his team.

So how is going Raikujo? Need any help around here?

Jack was a angry, but got over it after a while "Ah well. The trial is tomorrow. I hope we can just get this trial over with."

Ace nodded as his younger brother spoke. "Yeah, I agree." He said this as he looked up to the ceiling, thinking back to the night that would forever be a mark on his reputation as a singer. It was enough to drive a guy insane, especially after facing death again so soon- A rival this time, but it was still death- Something he was being accused of.

He rested his hand on his hand, looking at his younger brother and band manager. "You guys don't actually think I...[oi]did[/i] it, do you?" The question was somewhat blunt- And maybe a little dirty sounding- he knew, but at least felt that he was looking at the two people that really mattered to him, personally. I wonder if he would have thought I did it.

Kyle sat down on the couch in his office and took out his cell phone. He dialed the number for ace's cell phone and hoped he would pick up. "Come on... Come on, pick up... I need to ask you somethng important!" He said to the dial tone of the phone.

"Of course not, Bro. You'd never do something like this. I-It's just not you. I mean you can get into fights but I-It's not like you killed anyone." Jack said Nervously. "Right Rose?"
