This is a leaked official RIAA training video produced with the National District Attorneys Association telling U.S. prosecutors why they should bust music pirates: Because it'll lead them to "everything from handguns to large quantities of cocaine [and] marijuana," not to mention terrorists and murderers!

The whole video is over 60 minutes long—these are just two of the more outrageous minutes with Jim Dedman, from the NDAA, interviewing Deborah Robinson and Frank Walters from the RIAA about the benefits of going SWAT on music pirates. At one point, Walters says the piracy/drug connection can be so bad that you get asked "When you buy a CD, would you like it with or without—the with is enclosing a piece of crack or whatever the case may be."

Next time I hit the flea market, I'm going to ask "with, please."

This is one of those times when you count your blessings you weren't born American. (Still reeling from music piracy being considered a federal offence... XD) Here's hoping that American politics corrects itself eventually to choke this kind of crap dead. Mind you, the UK's FACT (Federation Against Copyrght Theft) isn't much better. There's only so many times you can see the same propaganda short choke the life out of your DVDs before you feel like pirating out of pure spite.
Does we even do these things anymore?

Once in a while maybe you will feel the urge
To break international copyright law
By downloading MP3s from file-sharing sites
Like Morpheus or Grokster or Limewire or KaZaA

But deep in your heart you know the guilt would drive you mad
And the shame would leave a permanent scar
'Cause you start out stealing songs and then you're robbing liquor stores
And sellin' crack and runnin' over school kids with your car

But no-one uses KaZaA anymore.

Outdated Weird Al song is outdated.

If films weren't so expensive to buy on DVD, then nobody would sell pirate DVD's. So, naturally I blame the whole film industry and it's never-ending quest to make as much money as possible.

Not that I believe the whole 'bootleg DVD's contribute to terrorism and/or drugs' link anyway.

The message of the song's still there, even if the hardware isn't. Picky guy is picky! :P

But yeah, it can fund organised crime. Mainly as the mob doesn't want you cutting into their line of work without you paying them off. I think that's a good reason not to do it, anyways.

Does ANYONE use KaZaA anymore? It killed my HP about a year after I got it =X Everyone used it 5 years ago, it was like its own little fad.

Not every music pirate is a drug dealer =P I doubt most of them are

I suppose the international laws that condone this sort of activity is getting outdated rather quickly. They all hold to the unrealistic point where every pirate out there is a drug trafficker or worse. Well, let me tell you. There are pirates everywhere and they look just like everybody else. They just can't see that fact. Stupid idiots...
