My roommates and I are all PW-crazed. We get into "Objection" shouting matches all the time, and have running commentaries whenever one of us is playing.

My mom just thinks we're all weird, but then, that's nothing new to her.

First post.. whooo..

My dad however knows NOTHING about technology so I don't talk to him about games or anything. XD

A.G. office? Sorry, I'm not that court-literate. Anyway, that must've ruled! Oh, and I have some exciting news! I discovered a kid in my Social Studies class today who is on 1-5! I just mentioned PW, and she's like, "Oh, I've heard of that game." I asked her to name some of the characters, and she acually did! Hopefully we'll be gaining a new member before long.

Well. My Mother didn't really say much. Shes gotten used to me being a complete and utter loony and Angliophile.~

Although there was that one time...

Me: -Had just found Phoenix/Miles/Gant pr0n.-
Mom: Ooo. Who are they? the first ones kind of hot...
Me: Mother... You're oogleing Gant...
Mom: And? Who is he?
Me: A pedophilic psycopath.
Mom: Oh... Hes from that Phoenix Wright game that you keep yelling objection too, isn't he?
Me: -Nods.- Why of course! -Happy shes taking notice.-
Mom: And that game has a pedophilic psychopath in it? -Snort-
Me: MmHmm. Hes awesome, he has free candy! 8D
Mom: -Shakes her head.- Oh well... The second ones hot isn't he? -Looks at Miles.-
Me: MINE DAMNIT!
Mom: Eh? Jade calm down... Wait?! Whats the one stuck in the middle doing?!
Me: -Clicks x-

She questioned me when I attempted to draw Edgy Pr0n too. >.>
Mother only seems to notice if it involves naked Guys. Oh and when I randomly shout 'OBJECTION! I HAVE EVIDENCES YOUR HONOR!' Whenever I disagree with her. >w<

Also, it gets brought up alot with my friends. Normally 'Objection!' or picking up a spork and shouting 'I HASH EVIDENCES!' Or shouting 'HOLD IT' at the Cashier in Game that time, 'twas fun. Sucks my friend wasn't there that time. .-.

Just a couple hours ago, at a restaurant with Grandma...

Me: *playing 1-5* Y'know what one thing is that's weird about the Phoenix Wright games? Phoenix doesn't like taking cases without a young girl hanging around him.

Mom: O_o... That's just wrong...

My parents actually like PW (and Trauma Center for that matter, my dad likes to play it), they like that kind of thing, they are really into these court kind of series. They watch many TV shows, like Ally McBill and Boston League (Refferring to TC: they like to watch Grey's Anatomy and Scrubs, too).

I could say... My parents are very nice persons, they like to play videogames and everything...

And about my friends, one of them introduced me to PW, so you may know how's the rest of them :yogi:

My parents say "Oh, you and that lawyer game! OBJECTION!" Then they tell me that I should get into law school someday. Of course, this is what I plan on doing anyway. I made my dad play the first case of the first game, and he thought it was, to put it like Franziska, a "foolish" game.

I was playing AJ in my Hotel last night, I was roaming the hallways not really paying attention when all of a sudden, Mike Cubbage, a Prosecutor from the Justice Department, screams "OBJECTION!' as loud as he could behind me.

The stupid game mic picked it up!

I'm responsible for converting... lessee.... my sister (she finally tried it after much badgering from me), our friend (who got hooked watching my sister playing 1-4), my other friend (she played 1-1 for about 10 seconds and was hooked. Got a DS specifically for it) a few of my online friends...

I ALMOST got my mom hooked. She played most of the first game but lost interest mid-way through 1-5 =<

I got called for jury duty over my spring break. I am so bringing one of the games and my DS to while away the time if I have to report in at the courthouse- see if I lure any other PW fans out of hiding!

I don't talk to non-gamers much about games, but I had an interesting roommate response when I went out for Halloween as :hobohodo: :

Her: ...Why the hell does your hat say "Papa" on it?
Me(keep in mind this was back in October, and I hadn't had very much spoiled to me): I'm... actually not really sure. The game isn't out in the US yet.
Her: What game is it?
Me: Well, you play as a lawyer, and you have to defend clients and such...
Her: Oh. What's it called?
Me: .......
......................................
...................................................

*After finally telling her* "APOLLO JUSTICE? That's the most ridiculous name I've ever heard!" *cracks up*
She laughed even harder when I told her the character I was going as was named Phoenix Wright.

Then a little while ago she told me that she googled PW and was looking at some of the other characters. She thought the name von Karma was hilarious as well. Then she said she might have to borrow the games from me sometime and play them herself. I hope so; it would be endlessly amusing. She'd probably swear a blue streak at the DS, because she's like that ^^

Using paraphrased conversations as examples, my mum likes to guess who says "Objection!" each time I play;

Game: OBJECTION!
Mum: Oh, was that Edgeworth?
Me: No, that was Phoenix.
Game: OBJECTION!
Mum: Fine, THAT was Edgeworth!
Me: He's not even in this case!
Mum:...how the hell is it a case without Edgeworth?!

She likes Edgeworth...

And then, later...

Game: OBJECTION!
Mum: Eh?! I haven't heard that one before. Who's that?
Me: Franziska von Karma!
Mum: von Karma? Is she related to the scary guy who sounded like a mutant when he said Objection?
Me: Yeah, that one.
Mum: Wow, she sounds normal. Well, good for her.

I'll never let her play the games herself though, because she has no idea how a DS works, even after I explained it.

I actually got my mom to play the games after much poking, pleading, blackmailing, bribing, etc. At first she could predict the endings of every case right away but after a while they got a bit trickier...x)
She's learned from playing it that whenever I say a character is awesome, it means they're annoying, obnoxious, ridiculous and quite possibly a murderer xD
I once asked her who her favorite character is, and she puts on this whole show, says something like "Oh, I hate to admit it, but I think I might like angsty, whiny, annoying Edgey." :edgeworth:

@CoffeeGir: That's awesome! I wish my mom was like that. But... We're not on that great terms right now, if you catch my drift. 'Twould be dangerous to try and get her into it.

But my dad actually seems slightly interested in the games. Whenever we got out to pizza or something, my sis and I are always talking about PW. Sometimes he'll ask questions, and we'll answer them. He actually listens! Heeeey, maybe I can get him to take it to work someday! Seems like a great way to relieve his ever-lasting work boredom.

Dad:"Is this a Matrix game?"
Me:"No, its a court puzzle"
-3 mins later-
Dad:"OMG, HE WROTE HER NAME. the policewoman is guilty."
Me:"-___-;;"
-another 5 mins later-
Dad screams: OBJECTION! OBJECTION! OBJECTION!

Okay, I REALLY shouldn't have buy Ace Attorney to my mum for Christmas, she has been pretty obsessed by it since then... Here are a few of our conversations :

Mum *looking at Mia's breast* : This young lady obviously made a strange choice of career...

Mum *seeing Franziska for the first time* : I want those clothes !
Me : Hey, could we focus here ?
Mum : Don't worry dear, your mum can make this kind of comment and umask the bad guys.
Me : ... right...

So I got AJ two days ago, on my sister's birthday, and she was watching me play 4-1. She actually seemed to find it pretty interesting... interesting enough to finally start up her own copy of PW1. Unfortunately, this was a new game, so the text was going slow, and she was forced to start at 1-1, which she'd already played twice on my game (with fast text). So she didn't want to play it, so I said I would because it's so short and I've already played it so much that I could beat it really fast, but... slow text... couldn't stand to play that for very long, especially with 4-1 being so much more interesting (I was playing it at the same time, remember). So I made my brother play 1-1. He was completely clueless (I had to show him where the Press and Present buttons were, and how to check the court record), but that's fine because you don't really have to know anything for that case. XD He put it down after a while to go eat, though, and then my sister got back to it and finally finished it, and didn't feel like starting 1-2 yet. Hopefully she will soon, though. I think she'll like the series a lot better than she does if she plays any cases besides 1-1.

Well, it wasn't either one of my parents, but I was talking about PW with my art teacher and he asked me what kind of game it was.
Me: "Oh, there isn't really any action. It's a text-based game."
Him: "Text-based? You mean, like LOL?"

I gave my Social Studies teacher the booklet to the first Phoenix Wright game today to see if she would have any interest in it. (She had told the class about her DS yesterday.) She defiantly seemed excited about it, and said she'd play the game if I brought it to her.

I converted my friend Mike. He's on 1-5 at the moment. It's great because we can confuse everyone. He said today to another of our (non-AA playing) friends when he said something stupid 'you're like Detective Gumshoe.' Of course, our other friend had no clue what he was talking about.

My dad's slightly interested, I think. After he overheard some rabid discussions with my bro regarding the final case of JFA, or the fourth case in the original, I could definitely see that his interest was piqued.

After I beat Apollo Justice (which my bro has yet to beat... he hasn't beaten PW3 either), and since I couldn't really discuss it with anyone offline, I started talking to my dad about it... avoiding spoilers, of course. I rambled on and on about how it was one of the best games I've ever played, and then I let him listen to the orchestrated version of Godot's Theme, and then the jazz version of the Objection! themes. He loved the music, and I think the next step is actually playing the games. XD;

My mom... ehhh. Here's a brief conversation I had with her regarding AJ.

Me: "Mom, this is one of the best games ever. I'm so glad I got it."
Mom: "Oh, that's nice."
Me: "And the music, the chara--"
*realizes that she already exited the room*
Me: :\

Haha. Here's hoping I can get my dad hooked, though. :godot:

Now, update time on my situation. Well, I just got AJ last Wednesday, but haven't finished it yet. Plus, after I finish it, my sis has to play it. Where I'm going with this: I won't be converting my dad anytime soon. It'll take a month at least for my sis to finish AJ. She still hasn't finished T&T, and we got it for Christmas! My mom still hates it as much as ever, and is ready to kill me every moment I mention "that Phoenix Wright game." I have to keep telling her it's not PW anymore, it's Apollo Justice. It's killing her inside. When my bro comes home for the holidays, I'll try to get him into it. I will not, however, let him take it back to college. He'll have to buy his own DS for that.

My parents will never play this for 2 reasons.

1.They don't like video games.

2.They watch Law and Order.

My cousin, however does play PW, and will soon be borrowing AJ from me, when I beat it.

My little sister asked my parents if she could drink coffee, and they said it was the 'last thing she needed', so I thought I'd intervene with a good question.
Trite: Well, wouldn't the effect wear off after a while? I mean, there's a character in my video game
Dad: --That Japanese thing with the lawyer?
Trite: ...Er, yeah, sure...ANYWAY! He drinks seventeen cups of coffee in a court room, no more, no less. He's not crazy- Doesn't that mean the effects where off after a while?
Mom: Well, no. First of all, that man would have a hole in his stomach if he drank seventeen cups a day. Second of all, he's an addict and should cut it off before he seriously gets himself hurt.

I kinda-sorta got my little sister interested, but she gets frustrated when I nag her to play it. Can you really blame me though? She stopped during the second investigation on 2-4 RIGHT BEFORE MATT'S PSYCHE-LOCK. She just... lost interest. WTF THAT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. I promptly told her so, and eventually she finished it. She's on 3-1 now.
My dad saw me watching 3-5 on youtube (as my sis was on the DS and I can't LIIIIIIVE without PW- I'm a dork like that :D) and he said that, and I quote: "That's a clever game, for making you think like that". He also asked why Godot had the visor, so I told him (in a nutshell). I'm not worried about the spoilers, though. By the time he ACTUALLY PLAYS IT, he'll have forgotten all about that. Still, I guess that's a step in the right direction!
