Gambling is also in some cases illegal in America. It's different for Casinos since they usually have legal permits to create their establishments with the idea that gambling will be their main attraction. It's only illegal to gamble in casinos if you're under 21 as far as I know from the current laws :]~

Well in Florida, gambling is only illegal unless the government gets its share, since we have India casinos and cruise ship gambling I was just curious about the rest of the world.

Last I checked, casinos are illegal in Japan. Pachinko is about as close as it gets.

Yeah, as I know several people (in the US) who play poker professionally (all legal -- the discussions they have about filing taxes properly are fascinating), the whole OMG gambling bit was a bit odd. (Though that made the grape juice seem normal; no decent gambler drinks alcohol while working.)
