3. Duon.

Alright. This boss will damage you a lot, but Instant Death isn't much to worry about... for YOU anyways.

As Fox, I noticed something a little while back.

Okay. When he's in his BLUE form, DO NOT CONFRONT HIM!!! All his attacks are short-ranged and thus, you should just stay away. However, the BLUE side has two attacks of its own worth mentioning:

1. You'll see him start to steam, and then he'll charge towards you. Even if you're above him, it can hurt you when he reaches the side of the level. My best thought is simple: Double-Jump, then when he's CLOSE, Use the Fire-Fox ability. Falco can probably clear the move completely with his second jump. Wolf... you're pretty screwed. He can't jump too high, of course... You CAN try though!

2. He'll sloooowly wheel over to you. If he reaches you, he'll slash three times, then go back to his side.

If you jump over him too EARLY, he'll follow you. Make sure he's about 1/2 of the way across the stage before you jump over him. Otherwise, you'll get hit when he turns around.

Also, when he reaches the end of the stage and turns around, he'll slash 3 times still... so don't go up to him... If ye forgot my warnings...

BOTH of the sides have certain powerful abilities... okay, two:

1. SPIN: He'll duck both heads, then suddenly spin viciously, able to take out a good chunk o' Health.

This is it RIGHT before!!!



If you see him like this, run to the CENTER of the stage! He might ALSO do this pose, in order to get ready to jump to the other side of the level. If you're there, you'll get pain. LOTS of it.

2. JUMP: I just explained it.

But the OTHER side holds Duon's weaknesses. And as Fox, you can exploit them EASILY!

We all know the Missile Trick: It fires missiles from its shoulders, and if you can get them to hit it, you will cause it great damage. If you want, after he fires it, if it's heading towards you in a DOWNWARD arc (You can jump over them right when it fires, to make it easier for them to hit it), double Jump, and get to Duon's OTHER side. I use the Side+B move as Fox after the Double Jump, to get over there.

BUT... the real move you want will occur if you see Duon like this:



He only does one move like this, in two variations: Either he'll fire in a large arc (Easy to avoid if you do nothing) OR he will fire multiple times in front of him, including across the stage.

Now listen up: THIS IS WORTH RISKING DEATH FOR!!! Rush up to him, and put on the reflector.

If he is firing in front of him, you CAN Kill him REAL QUICK! It took me approx. 21-22 seconds on INTENSE to kill him, and MOST of that time was against the Blue side! I can safely say that this makes the Missile Strategy look like you're taking NOTHING off of him! You will take loads off of him. Make no mistake: This is how you kill Duon quick.

If you have Lucas or Ness, this will heal you with your PSI Absorb ability, so put that on if you can... it's cheap, but if you want to beat Boss Battle with Ness or Lucas, it's a substitute for a Heart Container!!!

4. Meta Ridley:

Alright. In SSE, you have 2 mins to kill him... if you're FOX, it's still not a big deal. Seriously. Most attacks require you to jump at appropriate times anyways, and the few times you DON'T... well, we have the cure for those. Those are, of course, the Fireball Blasts.

Firstly though, I noticed that it IS POSSIBLE to predict what move he's gonna do. Each time he flies off the screen, he does something to show what the move is that is coming up. I have yet to organize a list though... but it IS possible!

Now, to all its moves, and there's a LOT!!! I'll categorize them:

1. Crashing Moves:

One can occur RIGHT at the start of the battle (25% chance of occurance according to Gamefaqs). He flies off the side of the screen, Smacks the ship HARD, and if you're standing on the ship, you'll take damage. Just jump.

The SECOND one can kill you really, really fast: He'll start by flying UP instead of to the side (Making this one of the easiest moves to see coming), and then crash down after a few seconds. If you're ON THE SHIP, you will die. Jump up when he flies up, then jump again after he crashes into it. The ship should come back before you die... okay, it WILL come back.

2. Scraping Moves:

One occurs at the start of the match 75% of the time, and it has a very obvious "Tell": He'll stay on-screen instead of flying off to the side, he'll roar, then he'll claw the surface of the ship and fly off. This move is not only easy to see coming, but you can hurt him when he is roaring and starting up the move. Go to the back of the ship and just jump up and attack. It'll work.

The SECOND one is less obvious: He'll fly off the screen like he does with MOST of his moves, then when he appears again, he'll IMMEDIATELY scratch the top of the ship, moving from left to right. Jump to avoid... you can try to hurt him if you want, but it's nor necessary.

3. Projectile Moves:

For some reason that I can't figure out, all these can be reflected, save one, which has yet to be tested since he rarely uses the bloody thing.

Firstly, there's the Rapid-Fire move: He'll come up from the left, Roar, and IMMEDIATELY start firing fireballs at the ship. Sweeping from the middle, to the right, to the left, and ending at the middle again:

This move is a pain, UNLESS you have a Reflector! When he starts, put it on: ALL fireballs that hit the reflector will go back at Ridley, causing damage. You CAN hurt him a lot, if you try to cause as many fireballs as possible to hit him... but it's also difficult since they can hurt you a lot.

2. DRAG AND FIRE!

He'll swoop in, then do THIS!!!:



He'll roar as it starts going down, then he'll fire large red fireballs above you. If he drags it far enough, you'll die. If you get hit by the fireballs, you can ALSO die.

HOWEVER... if your timing is proper, rush to where he is, and strike him until he lets go of the ship.

BUT... If you have a reflecter, rush to him, and put it on. I have no clue how much damage they do, but they have always killed him after ONE reflected one, whenever I fight him... but he only does this move when he's getting weak... OR when you're taking too long.

THE FINAL MOVE... is hard to have occur: He'll slowly come from the side, with a GIANT Fireball, ready to hit you with it. If you're at the far-left, he'll probably succeed since you'll start so close to him.

This move is really rare, though, so I am unsure of whether or not it can be reflected.
