"the gun shot came from the window so i look at the window and i saw the gun for a split second"

Xero pointed out. "I'd understand if you THOUGHT it was a gun that was in the window... but now I think you're lying. You're one-hundred percent sure that the gunshot came from the window? You looked up and happened to see it? I doubt it. That window was three floors up from the ground!"

Mr. Edgeworth slammed his palm on the desk. "Witness, you will refrain from speaking such nonsense. You will testify about what you saw, and only what you saw, do you understand?" Edgeworth was not pleased with this witness. Why was he always stuck with the crazy ones?

"You say you saw the victim get shot, and you say you noticed the assailant from the window, correct?"

"Your honour, the witness was rambling on about useless information with no relevence to the case. I had to get this trial back on track.

"Alright," continued Edgeworth. Now that everything was under controll, this trial could move smoothly. "Now, this witness testifies that he heard only one bullet at the scene, and this is fact; There was only one bullet found at the scene, inside the skull of the victim. This is proven by the investigation conducted by the detectives. They also administered this autopsy report."

Autopsy Report added to the Court Record:
-Autopsy Report: Death caused by single bullet to the head from 30-40 feet away. Ballistics from bullet match defendants weapon. Blood splatter analysis confirms bullet trajectory.

"Mr. Wright," the prosecutor began. "Do you still have any problems with this segment of testimony? If not, can we please move on?"

"Well," started Edgeworth. "I see you're not so different from the man before you. Always pushing your wild theories. Witness!" Edgeworth called to Mr. Idoh. "You say you're absolutely certain the shot was fired from the window, is this correct? Your honor," Edgeworth turned to the judge. "I request the witness testify about this matter of the location of the shooter."

After much contemplation, Mr. Edgeworth decided to take a stand. "Objection, your honor," he started off. "This witness is clearly confused about the events he saw, and cannot testify to the complete truth of the matter at hand. I should say he's becoming quite adverse. I hereby request that this witness's testimony come to an end."

'Sweet merciful Jesus...' the Judge muttered to himself.
He had been watching the courtroom stenographer the last few minutes, and had seen her break into sobs after being unable to keep up.

"Er, that is... I would allow it, Mr. Edgeworth... as long as the defense has no further objections."

"Thank you, your honour," the prosecution replied. "Hopefully our next witness is somewhat more... coherent than Mr. Idoh." Mr. Edgeworth sorted through his briefcase, found some papers, and looked over them. "Your honour, if I may, the prosecution's next witness is one Ms. Merry Pines, from the neighboring apartment. She witnessed the events that transpired on the day of the crime."

The witness, Ms. Merry Pines, took the stand. "Witness, could would you please state your name ans occupation for the court?" Asked Mr. Edgeworth.

A brown curly haired girl stepped onto the wooden stand sheepishly and yawned. She gave a twirl of her hair and mumbled her reply to the prosecution as if in no interest, "Name's Merry Pines. If it wasn't obvious enough, you just said it." She rolled her eyes and looked dully at Mr.Edgeworth as her eyes began to stray all over the courtroom setting.

"I'm an art major at Ivy University..." She paused for a moment, and glared at the prosecution, following Mr.Edgeworth's eyes slowly with hers. She then suddenly bursted, "God! Didn't you know that already? Don't you have ANYTHING useful on that flimsy paper of yours? You're just wasting my time aren't you?" She glared coldly at the Judge as if it was his doing and crossed her arms.
"Well? Hurry up! Anytime now. I have a party to get to."

"Ah heh heh heh heh," Mr. Edgeworth chuckled as he shook his head and gave a slight shrug of his shoulders. "Ms. Pines, the information wasn't for me, it was for the rest of the court. Let's remember that your testimony here today is required by law, and any other outbursts will put you in contempt of court."

Sigh... It seems hostility is still burning in the hearts of youth these days, thought Edgeworth. "Your honour, if I may, I'd like the witness to begin with her testimony."

'Is every witness going to be trouble today...?' He thought.

"Very well. Ms. Pines, if you would please testify as to what occured at the time of the murder?"

"Fine, Gramps, but you and Mr.Thinks-He-Knows-Everything over there are going to be driving me to the party once this schmuck is done. Seniors these days...always the party poopers! " Merry, with her arms still crossed, twirled another strand of her curly hair, and with a mutter of annoyance, obeyed the Judge's command and continued unwillingly.

:testimony:

-What I Witnessed-

"That day, I was in my apartment, doing stuff that normal art majors would do - Y-You know! ...stuff on the computer! That's all I was d-doing! I s-swear!"

"And when I was almost typing away happily, some stupid guys next door kept on talking loudly!
I mean, can't they just shut their fat lips for a hard at work student?!"

"They were talking so loud, I could hear EXACTLY what they were saying!"

"U-uhm...let me try to remember. They were talking about some kind of a genderless homosexual machine. Y-Yeah, that's it!"

"They were arguin' about the thing being lifeless. FOR GOD'S SAKE IT'S A DAMN MACHINE! Even us youth have more common sense! "

"Then I immediately heard a gunshot! It shocked me so hard, I swear I was going to come after the neighbours..."

"Then I quickly looked out to my window and saw this dude lying on the floor...he was smoked pretty bad! I mean, he was just lying there!"

An awkward silence filled the courtroom.

The Judge stood up in his stand.
"...I think I get it now. I must be on one of those hidden-camera picture-shows, aren't I? That's what this is, isn't it Mr. Edgeworth? Mr. Wright?"

The silence began to carve into the room like a knife.

"DIDN'T YOU HEAR ME?!" Merry snapped back with her eyes flaming with irritation.
"I SAID IMMEDIATELY! I-M-M-E-D-I-A-T-E-L-Y. DO I NEED TO SPELL IT OUT AGAIN?!"
By now, most of the court's eyes were wide open at the 19 year old, who had just bursted out once
again.

"W-WAIT! STOP!" Merry suddenly mouthed after the silence, lowering her voice,
"I-I think I made a mistake! I think it was like I dunno....a couple of minutes? Sure. Whatever."
