I looked at the evidence section of the site and saw a mystery bottle in the Rise form the ashes section. However I never came across it. Anyone know how to find it?

Oh, that's just when you show Gumshoe the luminol at one point and he said he finally got some and shows it to you. Turns out it wasn't luminol but "Looming Tall". It's nothing important.

One other thing I was wondering about: The Sheriff's Badge, I never saw it before but I'm assuming Marshall shows it to you...when is that?

I think it's when you show him your attorney's badge... I forget exactly when though. Maybe when you first meet him?

After you present the Letter of Introduction (or Invitation as Gumshoe has it.), you present your badge to him..

I see your badge. ooks pretty... round. Our badge is a star, a lone star, shining in the nighttime sky. A beam of light, illuminating evildoers who come in the dark of night!

Note to self: evildoers are weak against starlight.

As for teh mysterious bottle..when you meet Gumshoe to ask can you get into Gant's office, present the Luminol...
