Who wants a poem? WRITE POEMS HERE!!! ^_^ yays! Heres a taster:
---------
Step out the front door like a ghost
Into the fog where no one notices
The contrast of white on white
And in between the moon and you
The angels get a better view
Of the crumbling difference between wrong and right
I walk in the air between the rain
Through myself and back again
Where? I don't know
Maria says she's dying
Through the door I hear her crying
Why? I don't know

Very beautiful poem! Really well done! Great job!
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

So I find myself chained to your wall
a hollow girl
hoping for your beauty to fill her with hope
just once more.
So that my wrist, so brisk, can call forth the strength
to break free
AND see what it is that living truly means...
to me.

Wow, P_F! That's Beautiful *teary eyes*

Here's a Poem that I wrote for a "Fake" Contest a little over a year ago:

Title: Television History against Real World History
Author: BaaPuff

The miracle of entertainment, the television has gathered history,
much more history than most countries in the last 100 years,
how that managed to happen is just an unknown untold mystery.

What does it mean when more people remember The Talking Horse, Mr. Ed’s
famous lines then more people remember the Holocaust from World War II
and the widespread deaths and camp prisoners who were the living dead?

How can people remember how Lucy was pregnant during the tapings
and how it was a first for women in acting and performance and television
but do not know how about real historical women and their life scrapings?

Does the usage of bombs and guns in Looney Toons and similar cartoons
have been able to tell more tales about themselves then textbooks can
recall the slaughter during the Vietnam War under the gaze of the moon?

People can live remember the words and beat of the Simpsons Theme song
And yet they can’t recite the Star Spangled Banner which was written
America stood up to the British and finally became united and strong.

Television, the box of entertainment which has its history is created,
has warped the mind of the followers it has gather since its discovery,
and slowly causing real world history as found in museums to be deleted.

A very very primitive one I made:

You heal my wounds...

You heal my wounds,
When I’m beat.
You cheer me up,
When we meet.

And when I’m sad,
You find a way.
To help me smile
And make my day.

You give me strength,
When I’m weak.
You reassure me,
When it seems bleak.

And when I’m angry,
You cool me down.
To find my way,
Without a frown.

So even though,
That you’re not here.
You help me realize
That you’re still near.

(Wrote for a girl very special to me.)

Of course! I write her lots of poems and she's almost in tears sometimes. Phoenix

Here's another I wrote for her when I was on holiday (hence the theme):

The Ocean is a vast place,
Full of never-ending blue.
With sharks, fish,
And dolphins too.

With seemingly endless water,
And islands inside of it.
It’s no wonder sailors,
Want to explore every last bit!

Using a huge ship,
Let’s travel the sea!
Finding treasures
That were never meant to be.

Let us forget the limitations
And go somewhere new.
Finding uncharted islands.
Just me and you…

Thanks, you guys!

And Jadius... you can't be serious. Thanks though.

Here's another I made for that very special person:

To travel the world

Across Tall open fields,
Past Long wet rivers,
In dark caves,
Full of shivers…

Deep underwater,
Down to the crust,
Through strong whirlwinds,
Surrounded in gust…

Seeing fiery volcanoes,
Inside deep lakes,
Suffering the desert,
Infested with snakes…

Up to the heavens,
Looking at the stars,
Saturn, Jupiter, Pluto,
And even Mars.

Atop steep mountains,
Across the sea,
Through Time and Space,
Just you and me…

Something I wrote in my creative writing class... I'd post up the most famous poem I've ever wrote (if only because it got into an anthology of a college 24 hour marathon session and thus it has been read by more people than the rest of my writing) but I seem to have lost the book in which it was published. Please note, this is translated, as it was originally written in french. Seeing as this was free verse, the rhythmic shouldn't be affected, but you never know.

Lengths

In front of the violence of particular events that have branded our collective imaginations
She rises in an exemplary and unimitable rigidity that many from here have denounced
How is it that the question has come to asking itself what is her own existance about?

Her accomplice, who is unquestionably behind her and comes only in front when all is over
Support that could easily change the number of victories and defeats on each side
All that rise against the question search for her but canot guess her current disposition

The battle rages in the streets the assemblies the countries that can no longer doubt dogmas
They are all in a coalition of nations against a small caracteristic of human intellect
Facing the question they demonstrate an augmented capability to use a weapon of mass destruction
The wooden tongue the linguistic figure skating of unuseful tie-ers null and void
All this because they ignore that the answer always comes paired up with her older sister the question.

@AH: Wow. This is GOOD!!!! Intense but GOOD! *applauds*
@Jibo: Very nice poem as well! *applauds*

Here's a couple from my Creative Writing class (Fall '95 & Winter '96) in college that were published in our class' Creative Writing Journal. These two are my favourite ones. :)
--------------------
This first one has got to be the quickest one I ever wrote--5 minutes before class. I got the inspiration while walking to class and, as I sat outside the building, I quickly scribbled it down and handed it in. :)
I'd had no inspiration the night before for my writing assignment so I was happy that it kicked in before class. :D It's in free verse--my favourite poem writing style. I hate following rules. :P

Musings

I was once loved
Appreciated
Cherished
Now I am alone.

Once
It seems so long ago
I was someone's darling
Surrounded with
Love and happiness
Desolation is my only friend now.

I sit
Exposed to the elements
Sun, wind, rain and snow
Forgotten
Forsaken.

Once I knew love
Everyone wanted to be with me
I had a comfortable home
My own family
Now it is but a distant memory.

My family moved far away
Leaving me behind
Abandoning me to the whims of
nature
I sit outside a door
An abused and forgotten chair.
*******

This one was for our assignment on "cliches." :) It's very silly but I love it and still get a good laugh out of it. :)

Rowing

Going down the river
On a crisp, fall day
Rowing with one oar in the water
I don't get very far
But I go my own way.

Looking at the trees
And their leaves so fair
I might not go very fast
But I'm getting there.

Rowing with one oar in the
water
Might not be the best way
to get to what I seek
OH MY!
I've lost my one oar
Now I'm up the creek!

Wow! These are still really brilliant! I can't get enough! Poem addiction!^_^

Walking off that stage tonight
I know what you're thinking
"She stands alone because she's high on herself"
But if you only knew...
I was terrified and would you mind if I
sat next to you and watched you smile
So many kids but I only see you
And I don't think you notice me
Well I've seen your girlfriend
and I don't think she treats you right
But that's none of my business is it?
I'm not the way you think I am, no.

Thanks, Jadius! <3 I wouldn't know where but if I see a competition, it'll have my name on it!

Here's one I wrote on Tuesday when it was raining like hell:

"Light drizzle"

It was a light drizzle
Coming from overhead.
“The old man is snoring”
Is what they said.

Puddles formed and
The drops grew.
Rivers that were drying
Were formed anew.

They went and got coats, jackets,
Anything they could.
But that wouldn’t save them
From the great flood.

Then they began to worry
As the rain wouldn’t stop.
Water fell like rocks
And continued to drop.

The rivers became rapids
Swallowing the weak.
The villagers thought
That this was its peak.

They were wrong however,
This flood wouldn’t rest
Until it killed all
As if they were pest.

Now they were all snoring
Just like the old man.
The rain kept pouring
Without a ban.

Nice work, guys!

I used to right rhymes/poetry, but not so much any more.

"Summer"
I used to live at the seaside. I was 11 when I wrote this.

The sun is hot, the days are long,
children are cheerful and full of song.
Seagulls are fat and look very grand.
Parents are relaxing on the sand.
Children are happy and full of joy,
while they are playing with their summertime toy.

"Internet Explorers"
Last year I wanted to write a pro-Firefox poem, so I came up with this.

A computer user looked up at his screen
There were so many pop-ups he began to scream
One of his workmates heard his loud fret
And told him how to improve his Internet

"Download the browser called Firefox" said she
"For greatly improved surfing - its 100% free"
Even months after installing, he had not one crash
It zoomed and it zipped, as pages loaded in a flash

New features were downloaded if and when required
The whole appearance could be changed if so desired
His only bottleneck was a loud noise from someone nearby
But he now knew just what to do, which software to try

"Their super guy"
A Matrix-inspired rhyme. I was 15 when I wrote this.

I thought I was in the world, but it wasn't real.
It was all a great big lie; my power they tried to steal.
But the humans outside, the people who really cared.
Gave the red pill out - That's the exit that they shared.
They think I am some special guy,
Because of me, the end is nigh.
So I'll fight, try not to die.
Pretend to be their super guy.

"Reality Check
Another Matrix-inspired rhyme from when I was 15.

Knock knock, people,
The Matrix has you.
This is all made up,
All the world around you.
But what is real,
and what makes this not?
Are computery worlds,
not as good as a gods?
If your view is perception,
Then you'll be okay.
You can affect others lives,
In a real-worldly way.
Why would you trade this?
One place for another?
This warm, comfortable home,
For a realm where you feel alone?
So before you take your pill, just think of this.
What makes a real world, and what will you miss?

Matrix: The Musical
Before getting bored, I then started trying to rewrite the Matrix script a a musical

Trinity: Is everything in place, I’m on my phone.
I’ll take your shift, so don’t you moan. I don’t like to watch him, but he’s the one.
Well, according to Morpheus – he could be wrong. Are we being tapped?
I don’t know, but for now I better go.

(Hotel room)
Cop: I’m a cop and I won’t live long, so listen closely to my short song.
Freeze, stop, don’t move an inch. Put your hands on your head and try not to flinch.
Do it soon, do it now – as quickly as I can allow.

(Street)
Cop: I sent two units after your little brat. So, sir, what ya gotta say bout that!
Agent Smith: Lieutenant, you misjudged her.
Your cops are dead – of that I’m sure.

(Hotel room)
Trinity: The call was traced, how could this be? Oh me oh my, oh my oh me!
Morpheus: I know they cut the hard line, but now, you see, there’s no time.
Even though agents are about, your gonna find a new way out.
Morpheus: You have to focus, Trinity. There's a phone at Wells and Lake, ya see.
Trinity: All right, Morpheus, I’ll stay low.
Morpheus: The important thing now’s to GO!

Here's another translated one... kinda surrealist, but what can ya do. Italics mean the word was in english to begin with. Underline means word was invented and has no equivalent in english.

And it's (frakatapehsshan(silent)) - My phonetic sucks.

Lexical Drug

A fucker fracatapaissing in joy
Under the frolicking sun in the sky
It's slow

Flowers that sell us a naturallo project, muchacho
In front of pro-macadam activists
They throw paving stones with feeling
We are sorry, our brothers

There is also, and moreover some idiotries
Insignificant aberrations to language
I breathe in the smoke of this language to escape
The capitano-chief has a guillotine for my dictionary.

* * *

NOT my best one... especially when translated.

Another poem published in my Creative Writing class' Journal.
--------------------------------------------------

Reflections

I see my face reflected in the mirror of my mind
Taut and melancholy
Wondering always when the ache inside
Will finally subside.

I see the crystal blue waters of the pond
Alive with life and mystery
I wish that I could plunge myself within its
blue coolness
Becoming one with nature.

I see the flowers of the field
Reflecting the beauty of its creation
But I find no joy
No peace
No comfort in it
Endless questions haunt me.

I see the trees in the crisp Fall days
Their leaves covered in colours of gold
orange and brown
I often long to join them in their cozy
niche on the ground
Safe from the endless, demanding world.

I long to be at peace
But this often eludes me
Gazing into the smokeless depths of
a crystal ball
There is nothing to confound me.

My last one for a long while, the others have been lost forever:

WARNING! EMO-ISH!

Abyss

Life is a black hole
Swallowing me to no end.
Like a sharp blade
To which I can’t defend.

Inside me I feel
As blue as the sea.
Drowning helplessly
And with no chance to flee.

The flame of life
Is almost out.
And my reason to live
Is now of great doubt.

The Reaper’s coming
It won’t be long.
But now I feel
That I was wrong….

What happens now
Only time will tell.
And now I must say
“Sorry and farewell…”

I just thought of this out of the blue and felt like just putting in on here. It may not be that great, but I just felt like writing this down before I forget later! Hope its alright, and sorry if it seems kinda moody, I've just been feeling like I've been in the dumps lately... Sadshoe

Lonliness
All I feel is misery and pain
The love of others I must gain
But upon my back I am slain
So a happy smile I must feign

Lonliness
Acknowledgement is what I seek
But my social skills, they are weak
I'm left alone, I wanna freak
I always cry myself to sleep

I try real hard to make a friend
But am always shot down in the end
It hurts, I cry, I tend to hate
My personality I don't appreciate
I feel it drives everyone away
And there I'm left alone to stay
I cry and pray "Lord hear my plea
Could you at least send one friend for me?"
But I feel as if my plea's not heard
Cause to me no one will speak a word
My fate in the future, I seem to fear
Is one without someone to hold me dear
I feel as if with life I cannot cope
But I keep fooling myself with empty hope
That maybe one day I will be alright
And be someone special in somebody's sight.

High Stakes

The sun looms glaring overhead casting
The only light needed on this ominous day
It is so bright I must shield my eyes to see
Eyes are everywhere but the shadow blinds me
To them

Around the arena, Coliseum, are gladiators, fierce
And unmoved by the threat they know will come
Hailed king and keeper of fates steps into his seat
He greets us warmly; a cruel and demeaning gesture
As he controls our lives

We fighters are standing in our places awaiting
The battle the tension is so thick that I feel I am
Going to kill myself before the struggle even begins
I cannot and dare not show it though; I cannot look weak
My enemies look for weakness

Tools were thrown into the arena, two for each,
A sword and shield for our livelihood and we hold
Them close, to protect that which will be either our
Salvation or destruction - must be sure to keep cool
Survival of the fittest

From the sides several coins are thrown into the arena
The crowd gives its offering in the section of which warrior
they expected to triumph, each brute looked to each other
still trying to find a weakness to exploit- I have found one
In his shaking hand

With the audience sated hailed king raised his hands
And from three gates came chariot mounted imperials
All of which we careful and seasoned gladiators accept
With calm and cool as we assess the situation and plan
Our victory, my victory

More coins are thrown in trying to spur us on
We five move in on our selected chariot prey one
Of which is unfortunate enough to get more than his
Fair share - One of the competitors was felled, his two
Assets falling center

I manage to overwhelm my victim and repossess
His weapons, the others have managed to secure the
Second cart and they decide to work together – no one
Wants the last chariot and the crowd erupts in celebration
More coins come in

The man with the twitch finally drops in despair
He is trampled and dies in the middle of this death
Circle where we live – From on high the king motioned
To send in another in for us to try our luck with I saw
I must have his sword

He was closest to my position and I got there
Quickly and beheaded him – taking the reigns from
His hands I managed steering both while it rained metal
As the crowd got really interested and no matter what I had
The upper hand

The four chariots rode around anxiously, each person
Eying the others looking for a weakness to capitalize on
I stayed near the wall and tried to keep attention off of me
While the other two cursed each other, spit and attempted
Shoving the other off

I was confident in what I had as I watched them from
My place of reserve on the sidelines,
back in the only Shadow of the table – A fifth charioteer came in as one
Of the gladiators fell from his cart he could not escape
His underfoot death

Down to two of us and the neutral charioteers that
Neither he or I cared about – It was he I needed to
Kill and I was intent on doing so and I could tell that he
Thought similar, though we were both expert of our emotion
Just you and me

Where did the audience keep all this gold to throw?
We silently agreed to dismount and fight like honest
Men and did so; I taking the three swords I had collected
And he his two. He met in the middle and he brought his
Sword down on me

With the first issued I parried and the cheap metal
Shattered but I was quicker to swing my back up at
His middle and he ducked under it and swung for me
I parried again and our hands shook violently from shock
I had another hand

As soon as the point had pierced through my adversary’s
Side the High Ruler stood and declared me the victor and that
All Spoils on the field were mine for reaping – I went about the
Arena, tossing the gold into my area, leaving the swords for the
Guards to collect

His Majesty Emperor clapped his hands together and said
“Round Two”

I wrote this for a class. the entire thing is a metaphor. A present for the person who gessus correct the metaphor.

Thanks, EFG! <3

Here's one today for that very special person:

"My True Angel"

You’re truly an angel
Who fell from the sky
Lost her wings
And her ability to fly

You always guide me
Through the dark nights
And in it you’ll be
The warmest of lights

You’re the reason
I get out of bed
Awake or not
You’re always in my head

I’ll always trust you
And help you out
When you feel alone
I’ll remove your doubt

I’ll take your hand
And hold you tight
I’ll smile when I see
Your beauty in my sight

You’ll make the right choices
I know you can
Because I believe in you
And I love you, Fran

(Yes, her name's Fran. But she doesn't like whips! Honest! Matt )

@Jibo: That was beautiful, It's bringing a tear to my eye.

Have you ever considered bringing a few poems of yours to a publishing company and see if they'll publish? I think they might...
