Klavier blushed for the second time that evening, a new record for him. He'd grown up being told how "special" he was, how "gorgeous," how "talented."
Coming from Kristoph, however, it felt...different. Better. Like it meant something more.

Krissi slowed the car down and pulled into a secluded parking garage. He gently placed his hand on one of Klavi's shaking thighs. "Are you okay?" He asked, concerned.

Klavier looked at his brother, feeling the pressure of Kristoph's warm hand on his leg. His heart raced faster and small musical notes seemed to drop from somewhere behind his stomach.
"Ja," he said, staring into his brother's eyes, "I think I'm...better than 'okay,' actually." He managed a small laugh.

"Mmm." Klavier sighed, one part drowsy and two parts happy. He leaned against his brother's chest, preventing Kristoph from driving.
"You're warm," he said, and smiled.
After a moment, of course, Klavier moved, enabling Kristoph to drive again. As he did, however, Klavier put his left hand on top of Kristoph's right, the hand currently maneuvering the gear shift.
"I'm so glad I came to America," he said. "Being here, with you...it's like a fairytale." He laughed, knowing how corny that was, but unable to express how truly grateful he was to be here.

He turned around again, then sat down. "I also have my guitar."
"I think the only thing I want is for this hotel to appear faster," he said, returning his older brother's wink.
The turning-to-see-the-back-of-the-car-idea, however, was causing his head to spin. Apparently, there was still a touch-or, more likely, more than a touch-of alcohol in his bloodstream.

On most things in life, Klavier generally trusted people.
This, however, even with his brother, he did not.
Nevertheless, he opened the skytop to the Range Rover, letting the cold air rush through the car. Sticking his head outside, Klavier shouted.
"I LOVE NEW YORK!"
He collapsed in the car in a fit of what could only be described as "the giggles."

Climbing out of the car, Klavier realized the alcohol hadn't completely left his system yet; he was still shaky on his feet. "Oy," he called to Kristoph. "You promised not to let me fall." He laughed.

Klavier was about to agree with his brother's former statement, but realized that that probably wasn't something he was supposed to be agreeing with.
Or even hearing.
So, instead, he thought of Kristoph's latter point, and laughed. How ironic. He'd spent the better part of his life waiting to be as "old" as Kristoph, as "mature" as Kristoph, as "able to go out and see the world" as Kristoph.
The idea of Kristoph waiting for days and days for him was...Well, he couldn't put a name on it.

He laughed, but it wasn't his normal, cheery one; it had a bitter edge to it. "Even the house echoed; it was like someone had died, or something."
More bitter laughter. "It was...frightening, almost, without you at home. Luckily, I had the band, and all, but it was different growing up."
And then, softer. "I feel safer, now, with you here."

Soon, afterwards, Klavier moved back to where he was more "comfortable," and laughed.
"You mean," he said, surprised, "that you have me in your arms, heading up to a penthouse suite, almost completely at your mercy, in under two hours?"
He whistled, then laughed. "Great going, Bruder!"
