My mother has a cat named Dahlia, and it's pronounced "DAHL-ya"

Ugh, whatever, let's just say either is correct. I'm sticking with my pronounciation; it's how you say the flower's name and it sounds fancier. :that-b-word:

For Maya, I strongly think it's My-a. I had a best friend named Maya (though we parted ways), spelled it EXACTLY the same way, and that's how everyone said it. Myself, my family, her mother and father and sister.

Franziska I've always thought to be Fran-zsis-ka. Like idk, the z is almost sounds like an s but not quite.

Dahlia I've always imagined to be Dah-lee-ah.

Kristoph, I've always thought it was Kr-iss-toff.

Klavier to me was Klaah-vee-air.

Everyone has their own opinion on how to say the names - but it's nothing really to fight over.. Everyone has a different reason of why they think it's a certain way.

But the Spanish word "tigre" is pronounced "tee-gray", with the stress on the "tee" part. (I've taken Spanish for eight years, since kindergarten. It's a requirement at my school. But I'd much rather learn Japanese. Oh well, only 1 more year until high school.)

It's actually pronounced "ti-gre", just like it's written. Same with "Vasquez".

And Spanish is the second most (or third or fourth, according to some sources) spoken language in the world, while Japanese is the ninth (or eleventh). Furthermore, Spanish is more extended, so it's quite more useful (and easier) :keiko:.

Yes, but Spanish, for me, is TOO easy. Easy to the point of being boring. I took a Japanese class at a community college, and is was FUN easy! And I would rather learn Latin than Spanish anyway. Dead language or not, if you know Latin, a bunch of other languages are a piece of cake to learm. But that's my opinion!

Gramarye is apparently an actual word.

I used to pronounce it "grah-mahr-yay" but it's actually more like "grah-ma-ree".

I'm pretty sure "grimoire" is actually pronounced "GRIM-oh-ree", so Gramarye is probably GRAM-oh-ree.

A-ha!

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/gramarye

The way you hear it when you click the little speaker button is how I thought it was pronounced (I don't like bragging, honestly, I DID pronounce it that way :( ) but regardless, I think that's right where it came from and not necessarily grimoire... although that would have been it if gramarye wasn't a real word, I guess. But then... *rambles*
Thanks, Vick!

Thanks. As you can probably tell, I'm not great at French :sadshoe:

Stupid question, but how is Kurain pronounced? I can't tell if it's supposed to be two or three syllables... I say coo-rain, usually.

Well, i have a friend in school also named Maya, so i pronounce Maya Fey's name the same as i pronounce my friend's name, which is
Ma-Ya (Japanese/Malay/Indonesian pronounciation)

And i almost always use Indonesian pronounciation although i know it's wrong sometimes >_>
Iris = Ee-Ris
Lamiroir = La (as in French Oh-La-La)-Mee-Ro (as in Greek's Rho)-Ear
but there is exception for some as in Phoenix, Edgeworth, Deauxnim, etc..

Well, in game it's supposed to be Borginian, but "la miroir" is literally just French for "the mirror". I can't not see it as a French word. Maybe the Borginian language is an offshoot of French. :P

Probably. And most Japanese are not very good in other language (no offense), so there's a possibility they made the katakana wrong. XP

Ach! I seem to pronounce everything differently to everyone else. My accent doesn't help either.

So as you can see, my accent really affects my vowels heh.

I say Gra-MAR-yeh like a fool.

On the other hand, I also said "Toh-BAA-ye(a/y/h...)" like a great big idiot (I still like the sound of it better.)
