Wait, so now we can get killed off at the very start of the game? WTF?

Wow. Leave this thread for a while and 20 pages pop up. Velo, this round is going to be awesome whatever anyone else says. I hope you all have a good time. *everything explodes on Day 1* ANYWAY, these ideas are awesome, but I'm not playing so my opinion doesn't really count, I guess. I'll be back in Round VII probably, so I'll start paying attention then. ^^ [/long farewell speech]

OMG I MISSED A DON GLOMP?! :larry: omgah I miss everything

Wow. That makes me so happy and sad at the same time. :DDDD:

Oh, and by the way, I made the second Don HP. I don't know about this one either, but it's better than the other one.

Spoiler: Donald Serrot - Fangirl Attack!
Image
Someone has put a hit on Don. This makes his fangirl very angry--she's not going to let the Dead Thread have him yet!!

Donald Serrot and the fangirl are notified of the hit request.

Donald Serrot can then use the fangirl for one of three actions.

* Investigate 2 people with 100% accuracy,

* Protect Donald Serrot from the hit, but only once, or

* Restrict ALL of the actions of the person who put a hit on Donald Serrot including posting, voting, special actions, etc. If it was a group that put a hit on Donald Serrot(such as the Mafia), only those who actually voted for the hit are blocked.

Oh, and if you didn't know, Donald Serrot always starts the game with one fangirl, but only she knows who she is, and Donald Serrot can only order her to Detain people. In other words, she's like Angel Starr's "lovers"...just slightly different.

I also noticed that if the fangirl is on the faction who placed the hit request(or the person who did it, if they're alone like Gant or something), the faction could figure out who Donald Serrot is(because obviously if you put a hit on someone and you get a PM saying that a hit has been placed on Donald Serrot...)

Just an extra little note, Donald Serrot can only activate the power if the fangirl is still alive. This also counts for being notified of the hit request.

Yeah, I'm treating these like roles, not people. And I guess it's kind of overpowered. >_>

Edit: Oh, hi, Kino! :D

With so many people unable to play this round, I wouldn't be surprised if we only had around 20 players this time.

That might be a good thing, considering that recent rounds have been getting a little out of hand.

It's because Velo is modding.
There is this little thing they have invented recently called summer vacation. :p

Btw, looking at all the recent banners, are you guys planning on making a CR mafia based on the CR mafia players now??? D:

No, we are just doing those for the fun of it.
I think making a CR user based mafia game would cause way too many problems and possibly destroy the game.

1) No player role can be both Amnesiac and a Ghost.
2) Ghosts are always Wild Cards, regardless of any affiliation they may have had previously and cannot affiliate.
3) Being dead, Ghosts cannot contact living players by PM nor may they post in the Living Thread. They are only permitted to post in the Dead Thread, like any other dead player.
4) Ghost roles have a very dangerous Hidden Power based on the events of the Living Thread.
5) Dead Spritualists become Ghosts when they die without being disqualified from the game, but that does not mean other roles cannot start as Ghosts.

Wouldn't that be a pretty boring power though? I mean, you don't get to vote, talk, PM, use evidence...It would have to be a really amazing power. I'm just not sure if somebody would be happy to sign up to play Mafia only to find out they've died as soon as they get their role PM...I suppose it's much the same for people who die on Day 1, but they at least get the chance to fight their corner.

I like the ghost idea, but I think that ghosts should at least be able to PM ritualists spiritualists. Or better yet, be able to be channelled by either them or certain special roles. Otherwise being a ghost role would be REALLY boring.

I can't wait for the bonus round :redd:

One thing that I'm not keen on is that Ghosts can't win the game since they're permanently unaffiliated. That seems particularly galling, knowing that whatever you do you've lost.
A nice idea in theory, but in practice I think there are a few holes to be filled before we can consider this role balanced.

I have also something to say about Spiritualist. Particularly being able to read the dead thread and not being able to quote anything from it.

Wouldn't this be an excuse to cheat in a sense :/ Unless you plan to make people spoiler tag the big information with 'Spirituals Only' or 'No living or Spiritualists' which can get a little confusing for the posters in the dead thread :eh?:

Round VI should be fun with anywhere from 25 to 50 players, so I'm not worried. It looks like we'll have a lot of new players this round, at any rate. This makes it doubly important that I prepare all the material for New Players.

Naturally, if we don't get enough players, the round will be delayed. I think we'll be fine though. I've been expecting a reduced turnout the entire time, anyway.
Does we even do these things anymore?

Personally I have nothing against the ghost role. I see what capabilities it could have (especially considering that HP you mentioned).

Its the spiritualist that bothers me :/ Being able to read the dead thread WITHOUT being punished for it makes it some form of an excuse for cheating (even if spiritualists aren't allowed to quote stuff from the dead thread they still KNOW about it, which makes the playing field somewhat unfair). Unless you take into consideration what I said and mark stuff under tags that say: 'No Spiritualists' or 'Spiritualists and No living only', etc...

I personally see the ghost role as an interesting one. It's almost a mini GM type deal, especially with the hidden powers thing.
And in a way they do win. If the side they help wins, and they were a big help in bringing that about, in a sense they win too!

Plus we have seen allot of people wanting to be in on the epic dead thread from day one, night zero even!
And I don't see to much of a problem with the spiritualists. They can read the dead thread, but they cant tell anyone what they learn. However, they could almost share info by their votes!
But as long as they don't directly share any unknown dead thread info all is good!

And I agree that the spiritualists and the ghosts should be able to PM each other.
It's the link that could bring them together! Just spiritualists can't share what they are told in PM.
Ghosts should be able to share in the dead thread because the normal living players won't go there anyway.
Then the dead thread could be better informed about what is going on inside the unseen parts of the game, like the PM planning and such.

While these roles are really different from any others we have had before I think that due to the way our game works it could be a good fit!

Bumpity bump bump, bumpity bump bump...

The ghosts/spiritualist idea is certainly an interesting one... but I'll admit that I'm a little leery. Maybe if Ghosts weren't dead from the beginning and you just discovered your 'Ghost' status once you die from a hit/lynch... because, like Allan's Aokage, I really think it sounds like a one-way ticket out of the game otherwise. D: I know I'd be sad if I got my role PM and it basically said "Oh shit, you dead!"
